Hi!!
Linda:: Good to see you're back with us and feeling better. That Kenny!! Wanting to know if you'd tossed your cookies on the keyboard??!!:lmao: :lmao:
Well, I had better get some house work done. There are a ton of things staring me in the face.....dishes, laundry.....:rolleyes1

oh yes, you know how Kenny is:rotfl: Sorry ya have to do dishes and laundry:guilty: thankfully Mike got that done before I got home:woohoo: ok, he usually does. Tomorrow he's going to visit two universities!!! Hopefully by fall, he'll be ready to start! I think he's decided on medical social worker. takes 4 years, but if they're paying the school, and him to go..why not!

Oh, I forgot to tell you guys! As if the funeral wasn't enough this week:headache: well, literally during the funeral, my mother was at the ER! She had been having chest pains for a few weeks, but too stubborn to go to the dr:rolleyes1 well, she was at her patient's house and the cardiac nurse came to see the client as well. Mom knows her well and told her about her chest and asked her to check her vitals....the cardiac nurse swore she was having a heart attack and wanted to call the paramedics, but of coarse mom said no way. So, she drove mom to the ER...well, she refused to stay:rolleyes: they did an EKG and chest xray. they didn't think she was having a heart attack, but was obviously having something seriously wrong going on... after her crying and wanting to just go home...they gave her prescriptions for nitro and beta blockers and made her promise to come back tomorrow (Fri) for a stress test. So, now I'll have to call her and make sure she goes! She can be SO stubborn! The thing that scares her is my grandma passed away after her 7th heart attack. They started when she was 52...and my mom is 51.... so, then I had to give her heck for not calling us!!!!! She called last night around 9!:headache:

Linda: I've known people who are like your mom about the dr. They seem to think that if they just don't go to the dr, then they can't be diagnosed with anything bad. And the worse they feel, the more they don't want to go. That makes no sense to me, but apparently it's pretty common. There's no talking to them, they really believe that as long as no dr. tells them they are sick then they are not sick. Crazy!

Poor Emma told me she's getting tired of going back & forth to the bathroom. She said, "Grammy is mad at me because I keep pooping and it's all my fault." I had to call Mom and straighten that out! She told Emma on the phone that she's not mad and Emma said, "Oh, you're NOT?" It just broke my heart. We don't know where she got that from, but we think she overheard my mom on the phone saying she's frustrated that Emma's not getting better. Although her fever is down, so that's something.

Lyzzie just informed me that she wants to try out next week for the 3rd grade musical! She is usually very shy, so that really surprised me, but she really wants this so maybe she'll be able to get over it. I think it would be great for her!

Gotta go get these kids to bed, and I'm not far behind.

You're making me a list of things you want me to buy? Too funny! :thumbsup2 (thumb) I think it's like 16 more days left. (my ticker is wrong and set for check in day)
Alright, I confess, I bought a pin in December that is a limited edition Walt Quote, its tan and has a quote in it with Mickey on the side, when we bought it it was the only style, then one night as we were leaving the park we saw that it is in a series of 5, we meant to go back and get them but we forgot!!!

Thank you that website is very informative. Now if only I could find a good site that explains the whole process that we have been going through. The ins an outs and what comes next. Part of the frustration has been not knowing what steps need to be taken and not having anyone to answer our questions.
I might have something from our school, the processes should be similar since 504 is national. I'll take a look.

And a WONDERFUL good morning to my wonderful friends!!!!!!
Well, top 'o the mornin' to you!!!

good morning! I missed you guys these past few days. My dad was all confused. Understandable, considering...we had calling hours Tues. and the funeral yesterday. It was the first military funeral I've been to. We spent a lot of time at my aunts house these past few days just visiting w/all the family in town. It's sad it takes something like this to happen for us to get together and spend this much time together. It was nice to celebrate his life and talk about the "good ole days". He was a HUGE golfer, and built houses for a living, so there were a ton of golfing buddies there. Every owner the coarse has ever had came as well. They said he'd be the "most missed" by far. That was sweet. Guys were coming in saying they worked at the lumber co. he got most of his material from. It was just amazing, he touched so many lives. The funeral home put together a dvd w/photos and things on it and they were for sale. I've never seen that before! They also had candles and little things you could buy. I've never seen anything like that, but my sister and I both bought the dvd. I thought that was so cool.

I'll have to catch up in a bit. just had to drop in quick and tell you guys I've missed you so much and hope you're having a great week.
I'm glad you got to spend some meaninful time with your family. I've been thinking about you guys.

Morning kids!

I'd have checked in last night but fighting a bug or something... :confused3 .
Wound up with a migraine and horrible nausea - everybody was out of the house, thankfully because I just laid in the dark bedroom. Until the dogs started barking.... and the phone kept ringing....
Oh, I hope you get to feeling better!!!!

Morning everyone! I am so tired today, yesterday really took a lot out of me. Emma is not doing well this morning, she had to go straight into the bath this morning and still won't eat or drink anything, and the little bit that is going into her isn't staying there. We were freaking out because the contents of her mess this morning were bright green, but then we remembered she had a grape slushie at the hospital yesterday and blue dye sometimes comes back green. :scared: Sorry for the TMI!
I hope Emma gets to feeling better! This reminds me of a funny story...when I was in High School I worked at Baskin Robbins and they started making these "Blast" drinks that were Green Apple, Berry Blue and something that was red, red, red....well about a month after we started selling them they sent us these tear-off pads to hand out to parents when they bought one explaining that they dye in the drinks would cause their stuff to be that color...

I just returned from Target, and the place was a madhouse. They had 2 full aisles of toys at 75% off. People were filling up their carts, some even had 2 cartfuls! I picked up a few things that were deeply discounted and got a head start on birthdays & maybe even next Xmas. Got Lyzzie this IM-me thing she wants, it's a portable text messenger that can wirelessly link up to the PC and she can use it to instant message her friends on any IM system. It was $70 but I got it for $15. Also got her this remote control robotic pet thingy that can "learn" tricks - down to $12 from $85. I got a game for Emma's new LeapFrog computer for under $5 instead of about $30. Ridiculous! Every year I say, we should do Christmas a few weeks late. Just think of the $$ I'd save! I can never bring myself to actually do it though.

That's all. I just had to share my good deals. I tried to tell my mom, but she just said, "Throw it on the floor and see how it looks there, because that's where it'll end up." Then she asked me if all my bills are getting paid. Once again - thanks Mom. :rolleyes
Those are some awesome deals! Woo-hoo!

Yikes! I'm glad shes alright!

Well, I think I'm coming down with something, my throat is all scratchy. Plus we had to call the police at 4:30AM about that dog again! Chris talked to our next door neighbor today and they said that it was waking them up nightly too and that it had put a huge hole in their fence! None of us know what to do about the situation though!

If you guys can spare a prayer I've got a story. Alesha, the other theatre teacher, and her husband have two foster daughters that are half sisters. Emily is 3 and they adopted her officially last month, Alyssa is 9 and has major, major issues so they are holding off the adoption so that she can keep getting all the care she recieves. Anyway, this morning Aleshas husband called to say that Alyssa had been suspended for the day because she punched and kicked the school principal. They were on the phone on and off all day about what the state wanted to do, what they wanted to do, what her case manager wanted, etc. About 2:00 he called to say that the agency had decided to commit her and they had to be there by 4:00, so we had to move our call-backs and she had to book it out of school to be on the other side of DFW by 4:00. This poor little girl is so messed up. This is not the first time she has been mentally committed and it probably won't be the last, she has seen waaaaay more than an ANYONE should at any age and doesn't know how to feel or show love. They are so torn about what to do. The agency wants to replace her in a home and see if anything changes plus Alesha and her DH are about to start their second round of IVF and they are so stressed. So, any thoughts you can send upward would be appreciated.

Lyzzie just informed me that she wants to try out next week for the 3rd grade musical! She is usually very shy, so that really surprised me, but she really wants this so maybe she'll be able to get over it. I think it would be great for her!
Go Lyzzie!!!!!

I'm 63% Southern, which surprises me to be totally honest.

Lin: That's so sad about that poor little girl! I will keep her in my thoughts. I used to have a friend who was born with multiple physical birth defects. He adopted three special needs children. It takes a certain kind of good person to be able to do that.

That Baskin Robbins story is funny! Does anyone remember a few years back, there was a rash of colored food items? It started with green ketchup, then they had blue. Soon there was blue and pink squirt butter. Lyzzie used to LOVE that stuff! But it was all taken off the shelves because too many parents were ending up in the ER with kids with funny colored poop. Just think about how much dye had to be in the ketchup to turn it completely green!

Evenin' kids!

I'm a little better tonight - but not after getting worse again first. But I took more (yes, MORE) Advil and a Sudafed this evening, and used some peppermint oil on my temples and the back of my neck. It feels SO good.

2X - sorry to hear about your friend at the spa. Fingers crossed everything remains OK for you. Hey, we're having lunch next Friday, wanna come down and join us??

Linda - Oh, no - so sorry about your mom! Some people can be amazingly stubborn about going to the doctor (my dad), just keep on her about it to get herself checked out! Meanwhile, with all the stress in your life lately, take care of YOU!!!

Lin - prayers for your fellow teacher and her family. That's got to be so tough on them! And trying to conceive IVF on top of that? They don't need the stress.

Lyzziesmom - poor Emma! I'll bet she's tired of going, and going. I'm sorry if your mom is being hard on her (and you!). Tell Lyzzie, you go, girl! Break a leg at musical auditions!

Speaking of musical auditions, ours are this week and next. Vocal and reading this week, dance and callbacks next. Pixie dust and prayers appreciated!

Oh, and excellent news - - - I got my "deleted" photo book back! They were able to retrieve it! HOORAY!!

Boy, we sure do have a lot of "Dixie" in our little group!

Good Evening!

Thanks Lin! That would be great!!!

Donna...No need to apologize as I probally confused you. Madison has been tested privately, however we are still fighting to get the school to test her. It's become very complicated in that the private testing is more of a backup at this point. It will be a bonus if the therapist is able to present it as a medical problem to the insurance (I don't see that happening). S/L disorders seem to be more complicated than any other learning disability to get a child help. It's easy for the school system to pass it off as developmental and say eventually it will correct itself.

Amber...I'm glad all went well with your appointment. Putting on a weight is a good thing!

Linda...Tossing your cookies on the keyboard!:lmao: :rotfl2:

I'm trying to watch the Apprentice. So far it stinks IMO! There's nothing else on and I'm trying to hold out on watching Greys.

I think Emma finally went to sleep, thank goodness! I promised her I won't take my "sleep medicine" (Ambien) tonight so she can wake me up if she needs to. And I told her a funny story about how when I was little and had a bladder infection, I got so tired of going back & forth that I slept on the bathroom floor! For some reason that made her feel a lot better.

Well it's finally quiet here so I can watch new tv!! New Ugly Betty and Earl tonight, plus 2 Blockbuster movies came - Rumor Has It and Wedding Crashers. I doubt I'll make it to the movies though. It's been so long since I started my queue that I've forgotten what half the movies are! But I figure, they looked good enough for me to put 'em on the list so I might as well watch them.

'Nighty-night!!

I wasn't done with my post! :badpc:

2x...I'm sorry about your friend! I hope things pick up at the salon! We could all be there for a quick eyebrow wax if you need us!!;)

Linda...I hope all is well with your mom. My dad is that same exact way. He refuses to go to the Dr for anything.

Dznyfan...I'm glad they recovered your photo book!:cool1: I've never heard of rubbing peppermint oil on. Does that help with headaches?

Lin...That's so sad for your co-worker. Even sadder for that poor little girl. I had boyfriend in high school whose parents fostered troubled kids. They even adopted 2 of them. I remember the stress they were always under. It takes a very strong person to take that on. My prayers and thoughts are with your co-worker and the little girl.

O.k. time for Greys! TTYL (as Britt would type) I'm just getting the hang of all that IM lingo.:headache:

Hi, Lesa! Enjoy Grey's! It was good! Peppermint oil is supposed to help headaches, and is good for stressed muscles. It feels good on the back of my neck. Something helped a little tonight.

Night, Lyzziesmom!

Lin- Okay, just let me know and I'll grab them for you! I'll say a prayer for your co-worker and her family.:grouphug:

Lyzziesmom- That's great that Lyzzie is going to try out for the school play!

Linda- I'm sorry about your mom.:grouphug:

Dznyfan- I hope you feel better!

Happy Friday morning, everyone!

Linda::I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. Sending pixie dust for good results on her stress test today.pixiedust:

Lin:: Your co-worker and her family will be in my prayers.

DznyFan:: Hope you're feeling better today.
YAY!! Your got your Photobook retrieved!!:woohoo:

Well, better get breakfast posted.
I have a Pee-Wee parent meeting tonight at 6pm; which means I'll probably have to work concessions at the tournament either Saturday and/or Sunday. Nathan has an early 8am game in the morning.:scared:

I'll supply the coffee cake if someone else will bring the coffee, juice and chocolate milk. :teeth:

I hope you all have a Fantastic Friday!!:dance3: :dance3:

Good morning.

Thanks for the breakfast Donna and DznyFan!

Linda...I sure hope all goes well with your mom's stress test. I hope it isn't anything serious. You've had a rough couple of weeks.
