Rudolph's Shiny New year is about the only one I can't stand from back when I was a kid.

Britt informed me tonight that she is doing bowling through gym and I need to give her $20 for the bowling ally. No note, no permission slip. What the heck is up with that! She said that they got to chose what they wanted to do today for the quarter or however long it is and it starts tomorrow . She chose to do bowling and weight lifting. I don't think a teacher can take students by bus off school property without parents permission or knowledge where they are going, is it? I take that back, she said she forgot the paper saying she needed $20 for the class, but still there was no permission slip.

YM: Sounds like your DS has what's been going on around our house. We've been feeling cruddy. Not really too sick, just kind of "off." This morning it was a gamble as to whether my breakfast would be making a return appearance.

Emma went to the dr. today. She had these two small spots on her back that I at first assumed were dog scratches, but they got bigger instead of smaller over the weekend, then last night I noticed a couple more on her belly and a bunch around her shoulder. It's not chicken pox or flea bites, and it took a dr visit to find out she has "an unspecified rash." Thank goodness for insurance! My mom also finally got the dr. to realize that Emma's other "problem" is not normal constipation (last time's advice: give her water. Time before that? Give her prunes.) and got a prescription for that. So... looks like we'll be spending the evening at the pharmacy!

So that has been my exciting day so far. I can definitely tell it's a Monday - it's one thing after another around here at work today!

I think I need to start planning for WDW!

Yes, this sounds exactly how my DS is acting.

I hope Emma's rash goes away...I always hate rashes that you don't know what's causing them?

morning everyone! breakfast looks great....
I was inspired by YM and bought the stuff to make fudge Sunday, but actually made it yesterday on my lunch hour! (I come home for lunch.) It was soooo easy! I made rocky road, popped it in the fridge, so it was ready when I got home from work. we went over to our friends house to watch football last night, and I took them a few pieces. It was really good! maybe I will make some for gifts. a little sure goes a long way, its really rich!
gotta run, and jump in the shower! hope everyone has a great day!

pozey, you're on a roll this morning! I suppose that's better than being on a fish.

Lesa: I'm not sure about the going off school property thing. I know Lyzzie's class has gone across the street to the high school to watch plays before and there was no permission slip involved. Also, this year her school sent a form at the beginning of the year that was basically a "blanket" permission slip, you gave payment and permission for any and all field trips for the upcoming year, and if any additional trips were added you just had to pay the extra fee because they already have your permission.

Man I feel like crud again today. I think it's just from sitting around the last few days doing basically nothing - all my muscles are sore. I hope it's not body aches like you get with the flu. It doesn't feel like that though, just feels like I've been working out but I haven't. Ugh.


I went on Southwest's website this morning to check if flight prices went down. When I booked our January trip the other day, I had a credit for one free flight and got a Ding for the girls for the outgoing flight, but not for the return. The return flight that I really wanted - the evening nonstop - was more than twice the price of the next flight that stops in Nashville for 3 hours. So we went with the cheaper, later flight with the layover. Not ideal, but also not $250 one way. Well today the nonstop flight that I really wanted had dropped in price! So now we're on our "usual" flight schedule and I'm feeling much better about it, plus it saved us a tiny bit of money! Even with my "free" flight I still had to pay some minor fees (under $10) so now I have a credit with Southwest of $2.50. Now if only a Ding will come through for that leg of the flight, we'll be set.

I think I'm heading to TDS at lunchtime today -- any good deals going on? I want to get some small Disney-related Xmas gifts for the girls that they can use on the trip. I thought it would be fun to have a few things they can open as "hints" and then hit them with the big gift of the trip! I also saw right on my email confirmation from WDW it tells you the website to arrange for a phone call from Mickey on Christmas - how fun!

I'll have to catch up more later. Yesterday was just NUTS! There was a wreck on 71, the main freeway to work...I sat there stopped for an hour and a half before I finally gave up and turned around and worked from home 1/2 day! the roads were icy, a car/semi crashed and I don't believe there were any survivors tied up traffic both directions for hours. My neighbor said she was trying to take her mom to the Dr. in the afternoon and it was still closed! Prayers to their families!

Those are the biggest herrings I've ever seen!

Linda: Oh my gosh what a mess. Glad you were only held up in the traffic, and not in the accident! I would have turned around after that too. We haven't had our first major ice/snow yet but there's always a ton of wrecks when we do. Last year around this time there was a 37-car pileup (I think that was the final tally, it may have even been as high as into the 50s) less than 1/2 mile down the road from my work!

I didn't find much for the girls at TDS today, but I did find a little something for myslef. It was so funny because I was just eating the other day and thought, "Gee it would be nice if I had some silverware with an embossed Mickey head on the handle. I wonder if they make that?" Then I went into the store and there it was, and it was 50% off! So of course I bought enough for 4 place settings. Santa is going to give it to me but it's hard to wait that long! I called my mom to tell her and she said, "You'll have to bring it in and show me when you pick up the kids today." Uhhh, can't do that Mom. Kind of ruins the whole "Santa" thing, y'know!

I just went to photobucket and the site is all pirated up. Very cool!

Hey Shannon...it is very rich. I think you could make it with milk chocolate (chips) instead of semi-sweet for a less intense taste. You are right...it's so easy!

We are watching Rudolph and just got to the part where we met the Abominable Snowman. Lyzzie said, "The Abominable Snowman looks just like a yeti!"

Which reminds me, when Emma was a baby and there was a lot of stuff on tv about Expedition Everest before it opened, we used to make Emma's hair into a little point on top and call her Yeti-Head!

We were so close for such a long time and always felt like more than friends, but never were. We lost touch when he met the girl he ended up marrying (and later divorcing) because she was jealous of our friendship. I've thought of him often over the years, but could never find him to say hello. Anyway, I found his myspace page right off the bat, just like that. And it contains a link to his band, where I also found my former next-door neighbor whose dad used to call me their adopted daughter. I haven't heard from either of them in over 10 years.

What a blast from the past. I'm debating whether to say hello, and what the heck else to say!!
