Good evening guys! Aren't you all just too cute!! Thanks, LindaKMonty for the instructions on pix posting. So... here's my family. My 16 y.o. DD, my 27 y.o stepson (half brother to DD) me, and my DH.

Glad everyone had a great day - and hoping for a wonderful evening for all of you. :wave2:

Nice to see you DznyFan!!! I really need to learn to post pics!!

Well since everyone else is posting pix of their families (and don't we all look great!), here is one of mine:
May2006009.jpg

You've already met Lyzzie and Emma - I'm the big one on the right. Keep in mind this was about 6am on our travel day, so I was tired & wearing no makeup. Hence the huge eyebags. Oh, maybe you didn't notice them. In that case, nevermind!

I'm going to try not to write a novel tonite, I promise. Just as I finished up last night, I heard a thump, thump, BOOM! from upstairs. Little Emma was trying to carry her blankie downstairs & fell onto the landing. Luckily she only fell down about 3 steps. It was very scary though, because she was covered in blood, she was lying on her back & her mouth was full of blood and her hands were covered & smearing it all over. Turned out she just split her lip, it's already nearly all healed up tonight. Scared the heck out of Lyzzie, who was right there with her, and me too. I can't believe I kept my cool while I washed her off & checked to make sure all her teeth were secure! I was shaking like a leaf after I knew she was fine. 2 minutes later and she popped her binky right back in, so it couldn't have hurt as bad as it looked. *Whew!* I was glad to know that in a crisis, Lyzzie did the right thing by calling for me and not trying to help by herself or run away. You just never know with kids, no matter how many times you drill it into them, if they will actually remember the important stuff!

So that was our big excitement for the day. On the househunting front, we looked at 2 more today and peeked in the windows of one that the realtor can't get the code for (for the lock) until tomorrow. The first one was adorable, until we got past the living room. The basement was creepy. I'm talking Scooby-Doo haunted kinda creepy! I am not a big fan of laundry-doing to begin with, and with the W/D in that basement, I'm pretty sure I'd go broke from just buying new clothes rather than brave the creepiness every week! And the rest of the house was run-down and just plain wrong for us. Too bad, because the outside was super nice.

We may have found something though in the one we couldn't get into. It needs a lot of work but it's all cosmetic, and I can see a lot of potential. Lyzzie liked a tree in the backyard, she already wants to hang a swing from it! Anyway, the price was right and it didn't look the same as every other house we've seen, so it stands out in my mind. Ugh, this whole thing is starting to make me really feel like a grown-up. (It's about time, after all, I AM 31).

That's about it for tonight, lots of work to do tomorrow, I'm gearing up for our company's big quarterly meeting on Thursday, where I have to put together a good chunk of the presentation and it looks like I need to actually present it too. Yikes! And my boss is returning next week after being gone for almost 2 months. Her DH had a liver transplant that he'd been waiting on for several years. In the meantime, I've been doing her job PLUS the usual 4 or so jobs that I normally do. I am one busy girl, and yet I still find time to check in on the DIS throughout the day! Priorities.

The coffee is on and giving a bump!!!
Lyzziesmom: I hope you have found your house, that would be super. Sounds like you are a busy gal!!!(Like having 2 kids isn't enough!!) Glad little Emma wasn't seriously hurt. Sometimes it is hard for us to be able to see how hurt they are through all the blood!! So nice to meet you in your pictures, and I'll say it again...Your girls adorable!!! Perhaps when we go to WDW I will be able to get a good family pic. All we have are of us on RNRC or Splas Mtn!!! They kind of start looking alike!! (We've just grown over the years!)
Well, today is trash day so better not forget to get it set out. Happy trash day everyone!!!

good morning guys!!

Great pix DznyFan!! Very nice looking family you have!

Donna... you'll have to try to download some pix. so when you get back from WDW we can see some pix from your trip:)!!! I would be so excited I wouldn't be able to sleep!!!

Lyzziesmom... cute pix :) hope you have found the right house...sounds like you may have found a winner? Glad your daughter is ok. My ds5 is ok until he sees me then the tears flow...I don't know what it is about that :) You sound a lot like me... at work they expect us to do the work of 5 people! But I still check in here on the Dis often ;) !!

Love the pix w/Stitch!!!! How adorable!

Have to call about booking another Disney cruise today :woohoo: dh's best friend is a pilot for Continental Airlines...and gets great rates!! I'll have to see if we can get the "friends and family" rate w/disney or if his buddy has to travel w/us... they're all different. Most of them we can go and pay $10-$40 more than his rate but we'll see what they say. It's been since Dec.04 since we've cruise last so I'm having withdrawl!!

Have a good one guys!

Good morning everyone!

I love everyone's pictures!

Lyzziesmom- I'm glad Emma is okay. I'm also glad your might have found a house!

Continuing with the family photo theme......

Here's my daughter:

And here are all 3 of my kids:

I haven't read everyone's posts but this thread seems to have become a clique ;) . Anyway, I haven't been on the CB in over a year, had a baby and just haven't had time (spent a little time on the Family Board). I stopped writing after DD was born, it felt like the whole CB was nothing but cliques. Anyway, I've been gone for almost a year and nobody noticed *sniffsniff*. Maybe I'll come back. All you cliqueless people have beautiful families.

Oh my gosh...your daughter is beautiful. The boys look so cute. I can't decide if they look protective of her or if they are trying to figure out how to throw her off the ledge.(j/k)

I have to find a good picture of my 3.

Lyzziesmom, I am so glad that Emma wasn't hurt too badly. It is so scary how much wounds on their faces can bleed. As moms we hold it together when we have to and then fall apart afterwards. Good luck with the house hunting.

DonnaLeah Thanks for the coffee :) Today is our trash day too. Plus I cleaned out the attic yesterday and have 15 bags of old clothes to take to Salvation Army today. I don't even know if it will fit in my car. Luckily it isn't too far away if I have to make 2 trips. Glad to see that your Dh and DS made it home safely. I always think I want the house to myself but after a couple of hours I am wandering around trying to find something to do. Usually I just DIS a lot.

Dznyfan your family looks so happy in that picture, it's great. Where was it taken? We are going to WDW next month and I want to get a nice family picture to use for our Christmas cards.

Good morning, everybody!

Michelle - we took that over at Downtown Disney - I think it was over on the West Side, but it was during Christmas season that it was taken. (early December) My stepson looks remarkably happy because he was probably partaking in some Christmas cheer on his vacation.... My DD just has that "Oh do I have to pretend that I know my brother??" forced smile on her face.

Pozey - you have a beautiful family!! Oh, my gosh - those big brown eyes on your daughter. My girl has got them, too, and she uses them to her advantage.

Lyzziesmom, so sorry to hear about Emma's mishap - but glad she is OK! How scary - I don't worry about mine falling down or having little accidents around the house anymore, now mine is all about making sure that she gets from point A to point B and back home alive - now that she's driving...

For all of us that have photos - it's so nice to see faces! Everybody have a great day - and hello to KristiKelly! :wave2:

I agree with DznyFan, it is great to see everyone's photos! Love the DD facing down the Stormtrooper, that's hilarious! And Pozey, your DD is soooo adorable. I was hoping my 2nd DD would be a brown-eyed girl, but she got baby blues like the rest of us.

Mom called this morning, after getting into the house we peeked into yesterday. Apparently it was horrible inside: had mold on the walls that the previous owner tried to cover with paneling, structural damage to the floors, unfinished walls in the basement, and leaks in the roof. So, back to square one. We are still waiting to hear back on the offer on the "eh, it's ok" house. I'm kind of liking my apartment more & more!

I'm super stressed out at work today. There's this woman here who is widely known as my "arch-nemesis". She causes problems with everyone and is just a general pain in the rear, BUT she is friends with and assistant to the bigwig, so we are all expected to treat her with kid gloves. Ugh. Well her boss and mine are both out this week. She apparently does not have enough work to do today, so she has decided to dedicate the day to getting on my case about stuff that is totally NOT HER JOB. She is an older lady (in her 60s maybe?) and takes it upon herself to lecture me about how to do my job. The joke is, she doesn't have a clue how to do her OWN job. I end up doing all of her work while she tries to take all the credit, and meanwhile if she screws anything up she will run right to the top & tell them it was MY fault. Anyway, she is all over my case today and if it weren't for my kids and the fact that I kind of enjoy having a place to live, I would walk right out. But other than her, I love my job, and I know it will get better. When my boss (HR) returns next week, she will be able to rein her in. I just feel so powerless. If I complain, it makes me look petty, but if I don't, I could possibly be blamed for errors that she made and/or have to continue dealing with her. Everyone here (120+ people) know that she is a problem, not just to me but to everyone she deals with, and yet nobody can do anything about it because of her friendship with the big boss.

Ok, I feel marginally better after venting. How is everyone else's day going so far?

and Pozey, she drives out by you (her BF lives out there) so make sure you're on the FAR side of 71st if you ever see a little red Mazda 3 (mine) out your way! (Kidding, of course - she's a pretty good driver)

Yes, she tries to use her big brown eyes to her advantage.....and sometimes it works.

So how far out does your daughter's BF live? I'll be on the lookout for the Mazda.... And what did she do to her knee?

Hi KristiKelly :) We are very friendly here!! congrats on your dd. Hope now you'll have a little more time to visit us here on the CB. It is a fun place to hang out and get to know some very nice people. You're more than welcome to join in here!

pozey, your daughter is just adorable :) I bet your boys are protective of her. If not now, they will be later :)!!

DznyFan...love the picture :thumbsup2

lyzziesmom..sorry the house was a let down! Too bad you didn't live around here... My rental is REALLY nice. Great neighborhood, best schools, huge yard... it is a duplex w/5 car garage... huge living room w/fireplace...really nice. and do you know what I charge for rent? $530 a month! That includes water/sewer, and trash!!!! I could charge much more but they're only 2 bedroom. Hope something great comes along soon. I know how frustrated you must be at work. Our boss is the biggest jerk you've EVER met. Seriously, he's had to go to sensitivity training and everything! You wouldn't believe the stories!! Hang in there... it'll be Monday before you know it.

Hi to everyone else as well :)

Did you get your pix Nicole? Sorry, I don't think I saw any this morning :) forgive me if you did:)!!

Hi everybody!! :wave2:

I love everybody's pictures! You all are beautiful!!

Last night, DH's car started acting up again. There is something wrong with his transmission and he somehow got it working temporarily, but that temporary fix just gave out. He works about 40 miles from home, and I didn't want him driving on the highway because it was too dangerous. So today DH is working from home, hogging my computer!! The nerve!! :)

Hope everybody's day is going well!!

lyzziesmom: Sorry that mean lady is giving you trouble!! :furious:

lyzziesmom, I am so sorry. I completely understand your situation.

We have a switchboard operator that is a pain. She is a complete nut and everyone hates her. One coworker is on vacation this week and another had a doctors appointment this morning. Well, the pain kept transferring calls to those people (and she knows there aren't here). She then had the nerve to call and tell myself and another coworker that we should run to the phones to answer them. WTH? Why she kept sending calls I have no idea. How hard is it to say someone is on vacation? No one can say anything to her, because she runs to her boss and complains. They are friends so then someone bad usually happens to the person that complains. It's crazy.

I wish you luck.

Ashley- I'm sorry about your DH's transmission troubles.

Lyzziesmom- I'm sorry about your coworker.

Linda- I couldn't figure out how to resize it so Ashley said she would post it for me.

Amber, you cracked me up with your switchboard operator story! :rotfl: Among other things, I am also the receptionist/switchboard op at my job too, but I am nowhere near that annoying! At least, I don't think I am.

Thanks to all of you for sympathizing with my bad workday... you gals are the best! I did a little retail therapy at Old Navy during lunch and I'm feeling much better now.

And Linda, if I ever quit my job, I think I'm moving to Ohio! Your rental sounds lovely, and for that price around here... well, I might be able to move to the ghetto. I shouldn't complain though, yes my rent is a little higher than I'd like it to be, but I just got my electric bill for mid-June through mid-July and it was only $48.00 for my 2-story 1200-sq.ft. apartment. When I lived in FL, my electric would run close to $400 for a 500-sq.ft. shoebox!

Nicole.... sorry!! I was hoping you'd be able to get it! Does that mean you were able to recover the pix that were on your card though? Once they're on photobucket and you choose the 25% all you do is go back and copy the IMG again and post it :)...

lyzziesmom... shopping will do the trick everytime! I'll trade you elec. bills!! ;)
