I'm so happy that your Kenny is home!! I always sleep better when I know my family is safe under one roof!!! :goodvibes

2xcited, wow about your sister. I don't think you are being selfish or insensitive at all. I think, actually, that she is being just a wee bit insensitive by basically inviting herself and her children along on your vacation. Let me tell you from experience, if you don't end up getting the experiences that you really want, you will be very disappointed and feel very resentful. On our last 2 trips, I mentioned to Lyzzie's dad & grandparents that we would be at WDW and they were welcome to join us for A COUPLE DAYS. Well, both times they ended up coming for the WHOLE TRIP. 7 days last year and 5 days this spring. It was too much. Not only that, but they invited other old friends of mine. It would have been a much more pleasant experience all around had they just come for a couple days so we could all catch up and spend time together, and then let us have our vacation. It is very different when you spend all the time and energy, not to mention MONEY, to travel 1/2 way across the country to a destination than it is when you live nearby and can visit 'anytime.'

That being said, I think you should gently suggest to your sister that you are very much looking forward to seeing her for the weekend, but that perhaps the extended visit could be postponed until the next trip, so you can be adequately prepared? Just explain it to her the same way you did to us. That you love her & the children, but you are really looking forward this time to a special 'grownup' trip with your parents to celebrate making it through some rough times. Definitely bring up the school issue, perhaps she hasn't thought through that part of it.

Good luck, it's always tough to deal with situations like these, especially when it's family. But the very fact that it is family makes it more likely that she will understand.

well...I better get some sleep and grin ear to ear that my child is finally home and safe!!!! Such a great feeling!!!

Glad you YELLED SORRY because I was thinking no way no how...... :thumbsup2 I'm so glad he's finally home...have a great weekend.

Donna...a very late thanks for breakfast...nice to take us to the other coast. Good luck with the bus on Monday. My kids rode the bus home today and all went well.

Mel...thanks for information about your bike. Sounds nice...maybe Walmart still carries them. The equipment you have for it sounds nice too. Have fun on your ride this weekend.

Dznyfan...you changed you avatar...what was it before? Glad to hear all is well...looking forward to your picture.

Hi Nicole, Amber, Ashley, and lyzziesmom...I'm on my laptop so I don't have my cheat sheet...pozey, michele (on vacation?), angela...who did I forget? a special hello to you.....of course 2xcited :hyper2: :hyper2: april....dolphinsrecuegirl...drop back in please!

Hi guys,

Boy, that was a loooong dinner!! J/K--- a friend of mine called that I haven't talked to in about three months. We have know each other since our teens and it was fun to catch up, but my ear is hurting now--two hrs. worth of hurting. I need speaker phone. :hyper2: :hyper2: I look like this now :listen: Yeah, EXACTLY like this.

I'm not sure where I left off, so I'll do my best.

Donna--when is your anniversary?? Have you decided to go to Tony's?? I'm not sure is they have a website--maybe you can get some idea of pricing. I have no idea if they even have a menu, though, or if they just have certain specials of the chef for the day like V&A at GF.???? Now I'm curious.

What???--the bus was missed??? Don't blame it on us just because we expect breakfast every morning!! does this mean we don't get breakfast in the morning??

Amber--Aww, what a sweet hubby you have. Didn't want you to settle. sniff sniff. He's a keeper most definitely. Yay for POP. I have never stayed there but will have to check it out. I know it is a POPular one. get it?? :lmao: oooo--kaayy---moving on. You'll have a wonderful time, I am sure of it!!! Do you have a AAA membership?? I know they give discounts on rentals. Just a thought.

Linda--So glad to hear Kenny is home safe and sound. I bet (know) you are absolutely estatic!!! :grouphug:

Thanks for the kind words about the co-worker situation. It is such a long story and I am just trying to forget it happened, but I literally laughed out loud when I woke up and remembered the dream. :rotfl2: I suppose you don't have to worry so much about your co-worker too much now that you have your laptop at home. :woohoo:

And thanks for your advice on the trip---boy do I have some situations lately or what?? Yes, I went to WDW when my niece was two. It is amazing to see their faces when they see something for the first time. I know we will have a wonderful time, whatever happens, it is just that I wish I would have known this before we did all of this planning. We would have done different things. I just can't see her walking around the parks, hotel, whatever with the three kids all by herself while we are doing our planned events. We will feel guilty, I think, or worrying about them. Well, can't stress about it.

Ooh, the bride's cousin sounds like well, .....is she related to my co-worker?? Just think, you won't have to deal with her for very long.

Have a wonderful time at the wedding and be sure to take pics of Kenny in his tux.

pirate: :teeth: :teeth:

Angela--Conner is feeling better---so good to hear. It looked so painful and to have to go through that---uuuhh. :sad2:

Are you in Pampered Chef sales?? or am I reading this wrong?? which, if I am, doesn't surprise me one bit. Just trying to get is correct.

Thanks for listening about my trip saga. No--no bitterness detected at all in your story. :teeth:

Mel--do you work weekends as well, or just during the week?? Maybe you can sleep in a bit tomorrow??? How do you do it??? I would need toothpicks for sure. Hoot would be a sleepy one. :bitelip:

Nicole---PD for getting your school stuff situated correctly.pixiedust:
Thanks for your kind words on the co-worker thing. It is one of those things that I will get over but don't think I'll ever forget. We move on how we can. :sunny:

DnzyFan---nice to hear from you!!! I'm sure your "kid" is still cute!! Can't wait to see the PO'd pic.

Ashley--no definite plans for the weekend--having lunch with my sister on Monday--that is it so far. I'm the fly by the seat of my pants girl this weekend. Whatever will be will be.................you may be too young to remember this song. :teeth:

Lyzziesmom----WWWAAAAS UUUUUP???? glad you found the perfect green for your tink room. Are the girls so excited about their new home?? How was Lyzzie's first day??

Thanks for understanding-----I would love to tell her this and no, I really don't think she really thought it through thoroughly (did I get all that right, sp. nazi?? that wath a tough one Thindy Brady). My only problem, is that we are all (especially her) sensitive to the fact that she has to move away and I would not want her to think that we did not want to see her or the kiddies. Like I said, if it was planned as such from the start, there would be not problem. Touchy.

p.s. my little speech what to you call it above reminds me of my niece. She has a little lisp and when she was in kindergarten her teacher asked her what kind of car that was that her mommy was driving and she said all proud--"Ith a Merthadeeth." guess you had to be there. :teeth:

YM----aww, I get a special hello??? How special for you to think specially of me. I'm getting a bit slap happy, I can tell.
How's your Friday night so far??
Did you see about my dream last night?? hahhahha think of this as my EVEEEL LAUGH.
I'll talk to you soon.

Hi April, MImom, Pozey, Dolphingirl.....who am I forgetting??? Hi.

Ha! How cute!! That reminds me, in turn, of my college roommate. She never could figure out how to say Mitsubishi. She always said Mee-shoo-bee-shoo. I tried telling Lyzzie that story and her response was... "A what now??"

:p This is me giving you the raspberries-- :thumbsup2 not

speaking of raspberries---I had the most lovely lemon gelato this afternoon. It was my treat for the day/weekend/hour--whatever I deserved a treat for. You see the connection --raspberries/ lemon gelato?? good, so do I. :teeth:

Yeah, I don't blame Lyzzie one bit--I would be saying the same thing.

I can't say what my friends used to call Mitsubishi. disney board. pirate:

Good Morning!!! :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:
This morning you guys are going to eat what I just ate!! I think this morning it was the balcony of Old Key West!!!
muffin.gif

ps-----I didn't have the oranges. I had cantaloupe. You may add any fruit you wish. And I had PB on my muffin, cupcakes!!!!

I wanted to pick a VERY special place for us to eat this morning....to continue our Disneyland theme, but they aren't open for breakfast!!! :teeth:

I am somewhat behind on my Stephanie Plum book. She was good company on the plane ride to/from Orlando!! As were were unboarding(?) in Orlando a very sweet lady asked me how I was enjoying my book, she said "the grandma is a HOOT!!!" :rotfl2: (true story, really!!!)

Everyone have a Stupendous Saturday!!!!

Good Morning All!!

DonnaLeah, thanks for the food.

2xcited2slp, sorry about your sister. It's a tough situation. Have you mentioned to her that the kids would have to miss school so soon after starting? Or that it may be hard to handle 3 kids? Sometimes, people don't actually think things through and if you gently remind them, the start to realize. I don't think you are selfish at all.

Our next trip was supposed to include Mike's parents (and maybe sister). I gave them plenty of notice, gave them our plans (I typed them), a listing of all restaurants (and websites so they could see menu/prices). They never told us if they were coming, but have continued to say they don't know. Finally, Mike decided that we would plan our trip with just us. If they decide to go, they are on their own. It's not meant to sound harsh, but last year was a pain (oh, the stories I could tell :guilty:  ) Plus, Mike and I have NEVER been on a vacation alone (no real honeymoon either). So, we are excited to be going on this next trip.

Linda, YEAH for Kenny being home!!! He was worried about forgetting your name, that is so sweet.

No real plans this weekend. We are going to clean and reorganize the house. I am watching Clean Sweep right now (to get motivated).

:wave2: to the rest of you (I don't want to forget anyone, so I'll keep it generalized; hope no one minds!)

Good morning gang (still keeping with the West Side Story theme, I suppose)--

First a funny story--well at least I think it is--you may just think hmmph, where I was thinking hahahaha---okay, I know--queen, I mean Pin-cess of the ramble (not rumble :rotfl2: --oh my, someone needs to put an end to this). Where was I?? Oh yeah--

The questionable funny story---

So I might ask all you glasses wearers---have you ever put your glasses somewhere and then tried to find said glasses without wearing your glasses?? You know, the Frankenstein walk with your arms outstretched patting every surface in blurry sight or in toe-stubbing reach hoping and wishing that you hear the familiar sound of your glasses "jingle". Well, this is exactly what I did this morning. I must have been sooo tired last night that I set my glasses somewhere and fell asleep with the TV on mute and the reading light on. I was patting my way through the house thinking that they cannot be far because I had them on when I was reading Plum. So I made my way back into the bedroom and patted down the bed, the nightstand, squinted under the bed, which did not do a bit of good because I was kind of happy I couldn't see what was under there, the old bunnies of dust family laughing at me, I'm sure.
So, I sat in my bed trying to think of what my next step would be with, of course, a perplexed look on my face. I haven't worn my contacts in a long time and I don't have another pair of specs. So I did another pat down of everthing around me, even putting my face to the mattress as to see if they had melted into it. Well, in my quest I come across my Plum book----and wouldn't you know it---I find a new style of bookmark. Voila!!! Aahhh, I can see once more. Well, you can't say they aren't right where I left them. :teeth:

My mom called early this morning to let me know that she talked with my sister and had her really think about taking the kids out of school and the fact that she will be walking aroung WDW with six little hands by herself. She said that we had already made many reservations that we cannot change and have already paid for so it is not like we can change them this late in the game. My sister said that yes, she was already thinking about that and maybe it wasn't such a hot idea for them to stay the whole week. So, they will come for the weekend where everything has already been accounted for and then will head back home. I still feel so bad for sounding so selfish because my sister is the type that would do anything for anyone and would have never denied anyone a thing. This is something I need to work on personally---since I do not have little ones relying on me I tend to get a bit selfish sometimes. Don't get me wrong, I still am a very giving person, I just think I have learned over the past few years, healthwise, that life is too short and tend to do for me a bit more than I should.

So thank you all for letting me vent it out with you and thank you for all of your thoughts and well wishes for a good outcome. You guys are truely the BEST!!! :grouphug: :grouphug:

MMMMMM, Donna--

Thanks for breakfast!!! I LOVE English muffins with PB or almond butter--it gets all melty and yummy. Sometimes I even add banana and/or fresh blueberries and no, I'm not really an Elvis fan. :confused3 :teeth:

Funny about who we run into that reads Plum--people you would never suspect. Ms. Evanovich is truely a gifted writer to be able to capture such an audience.

Amber--This is exactly what happened with us. We asked them to go early on and she never really gave us an answer so we just started planning and sure enough, they finally told us "no"--until now. But, according to my previous post, I think all will work out. Thanks for your thoughts. :sunny:

You and Mike deserve a vacation alone. When will you find out if his family is joining you??

Have fun with your projects today and don't work too hard. It is the weekend you know!! :teeth:

Everyone have a wonderful Saturday!!!!!!

Catch ya soon.

Hi!! I'm back!!! I was still signed on here, but out surfing Disneyland stuff!!(Hotels, restaurants.....help it's a sickness!!)

2x2s::I'm so relieved to hear your Sis is cooperating. Now don't beat yourself up over the decision!! Easy for me to say!! Glad you found your glasses. I only wear mine for reading and usually can't find them when I need them!!
Hey, we should meet for lunch today!! I'll be the brunette with the messed-up hair, no make-up and a MickeyMouse nightshirt on!!! :rotfl2:

Amber:: I have a house that need to be cleaned and organized!! When you get yours done, I'll let you do mine!! :teeth: Yeah!!! for you Disney time alone with DH!! Who needs a crowd sometimes, anyway!! sheesh ;)

In 2000 my ENTIRE family visited my cousins in CA. and did Disneyland one day. There was 12 of us to decide what to ride, where to eat, when to go to the bathroom.....!!!! I would never do that again!!

Nope don't sell pampered chef, but the friend who was hosting had me come early to talk about my travel agent thing. So I gave out bags of info on Disney, Florida and cruises. I wore my Disney College of Knowledge Pin and felt very special :lmao: Then I played some of the planning video and everyone got excited so hopefully I'll get some bookings from that. I also gave away a goody bag with a princess sash, a princess wooden sign that hangs from the door, a CD with the MK entrance music on it and a Disney Cruise planning DVD.

My dh and I are going out today from 2-8 getting a babysitter and we will finally see Pirates and then go to chinese to eat. :dance3: Our anniversary is on Tuesday so this will be our "date"!
