Good morning gang (still keeping with the West Side Story theme, I suppose)--

First a funny story--well at least I think it is--you may just think hmmph, where I was thinking hahahaha---okay, I know--queen, I mean Pin-cess of the ramble (not rumble :rotfl2: --oh my, someone needs to put an end to this). Where was I?? Oh yeah--

The questionable funny story---

So I might ask all you glasses wearers---have you ever put your glasses somewhere and then tried to find said glasses without wearing your glasses?? You know, the Frankenstein walk with your arms outstretched patting every surface in blurry sight or in toe-stubbing reach hoping and wishing that you hear the familiar sound of your glasses "jingle". Well, this is exactly what I did this morning. I must have been sooo tired last night that I set my glasses somewhere and fell asleep with the TV on mute and the reading light on. I was patting my way through the house thinking that they cannot be far because I had them on when I was reading Plum. So I made my way back into the bedroom and patted down the bed, the nightstand, squinted under the bed, which did not do a bit of good because I was kind of happy I couldn't see what was under there, the old bunnies of dust family laughing at me, I'm sure.
So, I sat in my bed trying to think of what my next step would be with, of course, a perplexed look on my face. I haven't worn my contacts in a long time and I don't have another pair of specs. So I did another pat down of everthing around me, even putting my face to the mattress as to see if they had melted into it. Well, in my quest I come across my Plum book----and wouldn't you know it---I find a new style of bookmark. Voila!!! Aahhh, I can see once more. Well, you can't say they aren't right where I left them. :teeth:

My mom called early this morning to let me know that she talked with my sister and had her really think about taking the kids out of school and the fact that she will be walking aroung WDW with six little hands by herself. She said that we had already made many reservations that we cannot change and have already paid for so it is not like we can change them this late in the game. My sister said that yes, she was already thinking about that and maybe it wasn't such a hot idea for them to stay the whole week. So, they will come for the weekend where everything has already been accounted for and then will head back home. I still feel so bad for sounding so selfish because my sister is the type that would do anything for anyone and would have never denied anyone a thing. This is something I need to work on personally---since I do not have little ones relying on me I tend to get a bit selfish sometimes. Don't get me wrong, I still am a very giving person, I just think I have learned over the past few years, healthwise, that life is too short and tend to do for me a bit more than I should.

So thank you all for letting me vent it out with you and thank you for all of your thoughts and well wishes for a good outcome. You guys are truely the BEST!!! :grouphug: :grouphug:

:lmao: :lmao: Just like me with my glasses, I even momentarily lose them between removing my contacts washing my face and then searching for my glasses. I'm looking forward to gettin LASIK sometime in the next few years. Ahhh what I wouldn't give to wake up and be able to read my clock before putting on my glasses. :goodvibes

Glad things worked out with you sister, now you can all enjoy each other for that weekend and not deal with all the tension that might have been around had they stayed for the whole week. Sounds like a lot more fun!!

Thanks for breakfast Donna!!!

Good morning everyone!! Hope you have a great day! Glad Kenny is home Linda.

Good Morning!!! :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:
This morning you guys are going to eat what I just ate!! I think this morning it was the balcony of Old Key West!!!
muffin.gif

ps-----I didn't have the oranges. I had cantaloupe. You may add any fruit you wish. And I had PB on my muffin, cupcakes!!!!

I wanted to pick a VERY special place for us to eat this morning....to continue our Disneyland theme, but they aren't open for breakfast!!! :teeth:

I am somewhat behind on my Stephanie Plum book. She was good company on the plane ride to/from Orlando!! As were were unboarding(?) in Orlando a very sweet lady asked me how I was enjoying my book, she said "the grandma is a HOOT!!!" :rotfl2: (true story, really!!!)

Everyone have a Stupendous Saturday!!!!

Donna: Thanks for breakfast. It was perfect for me. I will be eating lunch out today so I was saving my appetite. I had mine with butter and honey...at the GF. Have you ever noticed in the Plum books that she always makes at least one or two references about WDW and often about a character? I think Janet must be a WDW fan. :cheer2:

So..Who do you think I met on the plane???HUMMMM
The GF sounds good too!! :thumbsup2

Good Morning!

Thanks for the muffin and fruit, Donna!

2X2S- I'm glad you and your sis worked everything out. I lose my glasses every now and then!

Happy early anniversary Angela!

I don't know what I'm going to do this weekend. Last night I saw "Material Girls" with my sister and a friend. It was a okay movie.

Hey kids--

Donna--are you thinking about going to DL??? Or are you just researching for fun?? I have only been once when I was little but a friend of mine (who actually introduced me to DIS) goes more to DL that WDW. Just wondering.

Lunch today?? Well, noticing the time it would have to be a late one. Maybe next time, but are you still planning to wear the same outfit?? :teeth: This is sad, but my attire sounds pretty much the same and half the day is over already. Can you say NON-PRODUCTIVE???

All 12 of you stuck together for your trip?? Yikes.

Have you ever been to IMO's?? You know, the St. Louis exclusive pizza place that's a chain?? Well, last night I was starving so I ordered delivery because I didn't feel like cooking and thought ahh, it's Friday. Anyway, I ordered a sa-zi-za sandwich which is new for them and remember my Italian heritage, right?? Well, I even asked on the phone, "that has cheese and sauce on it, right?" "Oh, yes ma'am" ---$&%^ for the ma'am part, but that's beside the point. Anyway again, (I say this alot, I think---probably because I start side talking) my order is delivered in a very orderly and prompt manner and I start to eat my sandwich------ewwww, funny taste, funny taste-----what is it????? PICKLES ------yes you heard me. Who in the world puts pickles on an Italian sausage with cheese and red sauce???? Then I taste something else----chopped peppercini. Put it on the side, people. I couldn't even eat it--ending up pitching it---sorry starving people. There is nothing wrong with pickles and peppercini--love them both but not on my Italian sausage sandwich. Everything was soaked in pickle juice by the time it got to me. The end.

Angela---- what a great idea for your travel agency to open a Pampered Chef party. You were kind of the "pre-show", huh?? What a great target market----lots of moms and woman. Your goody bags sound fun.

I would love to get Lasik exactly for issues such as this morning but because of meds I have taken for several years now and don't see an end in sight (get it??) I cannot do it. It effects the eyesight too much and my dr. said it wouldn't be a good idea. So, I will continue to do my best squinting Frankenstein imitation.

Enjoy Pirates and just a warning---JD is as yummy as ever and beyond whatever Lyzziesmom may tell you, he is still MINE.

Have fun at your dinner and a movie night and HAPPY ANNIVERSARY. :dance3:

YM--- :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Oh, my goodness----I was just noticing this the other day about the WDW references in Plum books. My little light bulb went off with the infamous inquisitive look everytime she mentioned anything WDW. Things that make you go HMMMMM.

Have fun at lunch---or shall I say hope you had fun at lunch. Anywhere fun?? Teds?? I gotta try this place.

Hi Nicole--what is Material Girls about?? I feel so out of the loop.
Have fun whatever you decide to do. :sunny:

Wow, our cliquers must be busy today.

Hi April, Pozey, Lyzziesmom (we know you're busy), DznyFan, Linda (wedding fun to you and Kenny), Ashley, Amber, MImom (still vacationing??), who else cuz I'm not cheating. Hi to everyone else.

Good rest of Saturday. :dance3: :dance3:

Amber--This is exactly what happened with us. We asked them to go early on and she never really gave us an answer so we just started planning and sure enough, they finally told us "no"--until now. But, according to my previous post, I think all will work out. Thanks for your thoughts. :sunny:

You and Mike deserve a vacation alone. When will you find out if his family is joining you??

I'm glad things are going to work out.

Ok, please no one think that Mike and I are selfish. Mike decided that he going to tell his parents that plans fell through and we aren't coming down.

Originally, the plan was to go to their house for a few days then go to WDW (then they would join us at WDW). Well, Mike decided to start adding days to WDW (and subtracting them from his parents). We had it down to one day at their house (Thanksgiving).

His dad smokes and every time I get around it I get very sick. So, Mike and I were worried that if we went to their house before WDW I may get sick and not be able to enjoy myself. That's when Mike asked if I wanted to avoid his parents house all together. So I added another day at WDW.

We feel that it is easier to just tell them that we aren't coming down at all.

We have yet to have a vacation alone. Plus, it really was a mess when we went last year with them. They have been in FL for over 5 years and have yet to come visit Mike (yet he is expected to go to their house on his vacation- this upsets him a lot).

Hopefully, this doesn't make us bad people.

2xcited2slp: during the summer time, I don't do Sats :teeth: . Sat/Sun only time I can get out and do things while the weather is warm. During winter I sometimes go in for about 4 or 5 hrs.

Yes I sleep in on sat and sundays...ok...so 6am is sleeping in for me :rotfl2: .

I went biking today, to 2 diff trails. Arrived at one around 10:30, rode 6 miles round trip. I didn't do the full trail, which is 5 miles, because I thought I would have to come back all up hill, because as I was going in one direction, seemed like I was in a slow decent. But when I turned around after hitting the 3 mile marker, it felt the same way coming back! It was weird. Really liked this trail. It is called Blackhand Gorge, and really lovely ride. I forgot my camera :guilty: but will definitely be taking it next trip. I then headed up to another trail called the Kokosing Gap Trail. Both these trails are part of the Rails to Trails (I apologize if I mentioned this before). The Kokosing is a 14 mile trail. I only did a small section, started at Howard Ohio and went east to Gambier. Again a really smooth, level ride, just a very mild incline going east but not that noticable, then a slight decline, didn't have to pedal as much. It was about a 4.8 mile one way. Once I got back to Howard, I rode till I hit the 10 miles on my distance meter. So today I rode a total of about 16 miles.

Now I am tired :rotfl:

About the glasses...I don't usually stumble, I can still see a little lol. Long as I am not driving with out them...I am ok....

Glad things worked out with the sister.

Donna: sorry I missed breakfast! lol.
Actually didn't have breakfast this morning. Least not till around 10am on my way to the trails. Had some trail mix lol....gees....I have this trail thing on my mind or what.

Yes, I'm thinking, but mostly dreaming!! :cloud9: We have already decided we should spend my ONE week vacation next year visiting his mom in Arizona. I talk to her often, but have not seen her in 4 years. DH and DS go now and then, but I just can't get the time off. Anyway, I am trying to incorporate a trip to DL with a trip to AZ. (Sorry, I'm "hopeless") I am a scheming female!! :earsgirl:
The pickles on the sandwich sound kind of gross, and I'm not a picky eater!! EEWWW!! And yes, I've heard of Imo's, but never eaten there.

I have been watching Flip This House. 2 Couples from Santa Barbara bought a million dollar house and are trying to upgrade everything in 6 weeks. Needless to say things are not going as planned!!! One couple is doing all the work and the other isn't.

Amber:: I know how you feel about the smoking. Dh can't stand to be around the smoke anymore and my sister's husband smokes like a chimney. We can hardly go to their house anymore because of it!!

Since I SEE GREEN LIGHTS, I must mention...............
I JUST HIT 500 POSTS!!!!!!
:dance3: :rockband: :disrocks: :yay:

I just got my first pair of Crocs. My mom gave me the beach style in lime green (it didn't even occur that it was the DIS color).

I wasn't sure that I would like them, but they grow on you. Mike is thinking of getting a pair now.

I am thinking of getting a couple more colors (I need a pink and possibly black too).

Does anyone else have these? I usually wear tennis shoes at WDW, but I guess I will be taking these too.

Hey Hidey Ho!!

I've been busy, busy, busy! I lost 2.2 pounds at my weekly WW meeting! :woohoo: I'm up to 7.8 pounds lost total in 4 weeks. I'm hoping next week I can make it to 10 pounds lost. I've been sticking to the plan and exercising :thumbsup2 For the record I am NOT an exerciser! Monday our painter and contractor is coming. :bitelip: Things are moving right along and soon our house will be on the market. Anyway, I've got to get caught up so excuse me while I read :coffee: . . . . . . .

We are planning on spending most of Thanksgiving touring the resorts. One reason I like having a car; we don't have to rely on the busses.
Amber, you will love MVMCP! I agree about the car. I didn't use to feel that way but the last couple of times we've been to WDW I've really enjoyed having the car. This year when my sister came up with that crazy last minute trip to attend MNSSHP we thought about using Magical Express (trying to keep the costs to a minimum) but DH and I really like to have a car. Many times we don't use it, we just use the bus but it is great knowing we have the car if we want it. Especially when needing to get to the resorts.

I definitely am not in any cliques..was always a loner in school too. Mostly because I am shy, though not as bad as I was when in school. I apparently didn't have the 'look'.... :confused3 or right vibe.

I do post but don't really expect any responses. As for PM's...I got one a couple weeks ago...! That was the only one.

Now get me talking about Disney, Vegas, Star Wars, and animals...and I am just a chatterbox :happytv: ...but mostly I am a listener. I just am not good at conversations.
 :welcome: I look forward to corresponding with you and hearing what you have to say. Welcome to our Cliqueless Chicas and the Man!

YM, could you please post this recipe? I love chili and now that I'm doing WW a healthy version is just what I need.

I don't know if you remember, but the other day I mentioned that my sister had to have her dog put to sleep--his name was Willie (the Weimereiner--catchy, huh??). Anyway, they also had a mixed rescue dog that they raised for over ten years (Mel) who passed away last fall.

So, today, my mom had lunch with my niece and nephew up at school and she mentioned something about Willie and my nephew (5) says, "how did you know that Willie is in heaven??" My mom responded that his mommy told her, then my nephew proceeds to say, "yeah, Mel was waiting up there for Willie--he was waiting in a rocking chair." :sad1: gulp

First of all, it amazes me where kids come up with the things they do.

Second of all, I am going to miss them soooo much!!! Only two more weeks.
2x, I'm sorry to hear about your sister's doggy! :sad2: And hugs to you.

Ok so I have had a song in my head all day and I am going to sing it for you now..........

Sweet Caroline
(bah bah bah)
Good Times Never Seemed So Good
(so good so goo so good)
I love this song! :goodvibes And I have a friend who has a Caroline so everytime I'm with them I think of that song. OK, I've been known to sing it to her on occasion.
lyzziesmom said:
Aaaaack, pixie, that Sweet Caroline song brings back weird memories! When I lived in FL I used to go to karaoke a lot, and there was this guy that worked in the kitchen of one bar we'd go to (it later changed to a gay bar, but that's not part of this story). Anyway, this guy was a bit, um, shall we say.... mentally challenged. I mean he could work and at first you'd think he was okay, but then you'd realize that he didn't really understand money or social skills, little things like that. Anyhooo, (gosh I hate when people say that), he was a little smitten with me because I was nice to him, as I try to be to everyone. This guy loved to sing, but he would only sing Neil Diamond songs. One night he sang Sweet Caroline, really really REALLY off-key, and asked me how it sounded. I said, "oh it was definitely you. Very memorable." From that moment on, he seemed to think it was "our song" and would sing it to me, like on his knees in front of me. Yikes.
:rotfl: That is too funny!!! :rotfl:

Ain't that the truth, sister!

Well, I will submit this message and continue before I get that stupid message about too many smilies. I have 25 right now (thanks Lynda for that tip!)

Evening, ladies and gent! I need to go back and read the past couple days' posts, but I've had a busy weekend so far...

I really do need to bo back and read and catch up, and I want to get some Plum in tonight, so TTFN!

OK - so I blew through the posts -
2xcited - even tho it sounds like your dilemma has resolved itself, I don't think you should have to change your ressies because your sister changed her mind on a trip she already declined. You could certainly have acted as a consultant to assist her, but I think she would have needed to accept that you had ressies, hard ticket events and so on planned that are difficult if not impossible to change.

Amber - I got my first pair of crocs this week too!! Dark brown though, so I can wear them with most everything.

Linda - Hooray for Kenny being home!!

Mel - sorry I didn't officially say :welcome: - I haven't been around much the past few days.

Donna - breakfast was fabulous out on my favorite patio in the world!

OK, I've gotten four Oceangrams in the past half hour online with one window open. I'm oficially addicted.

A hearty howdy out to April, Angela, Nicole, Pozey, Lyzziesmom, Ashley, and I so know I've left some of ya'll out.... no offense, just my lack of short term memory....
what was I saying?

Some other things about me...I am into bike riding!! I bought a new bike in spring, and have ridden it more this summer than I had my last bike which I have had for like 12 yrs!!! Course it helps that I have some really nice multi-use trails near my house, one of which is only 1.8 miles by bike. The other one I have to tow the bike, for now, till the one I can ride to is connected to the other one. Soooo many bike trails to explore just in Ohio alone. My next group to join is the Rail to Trails Conservancy. Can't wait till Oct 2007 (if I can ever get a hold of WDW to book it) and Fort Wilderness...my bike is coming with me
Oh, Mel, I used to LOVE riding my bike on trails. Back in the day when I was skinny (because of riding my bike). When we move to SC DH and I are hoping to get into trail riding and hiking!

I just had to share my good luck tonight! It seems the pixie dust is getting sprinkled all over me for my upcoming trip!

Today DH was carpooling with his co-worker like he normally does. They switch back and forth now, since we got the new car, since we live so far away from the job and this way the cars don't get so many miles put on them.
Anyway-DH was talking to his co-worker about our trip, and how we got a digital camera, and how we still need a memory card. Well the man was talking about how he has a friend that works at a store called MicroCenter (I've never heard of it, have you guys?) and he got a 1 GB memory card for $16.99. Well thats a GREAT deal so they agreed they'd go to the store after work. Well they went, and his co-worker's friend gave him a coupon for a FREE 1 GB memory card!! He used it right then. I am so excited! We need to save all the money we can and I saw these same cards at Target for $60!!!
It allows 264 pictures with my camera. If we take more than that, we can just upload the pictures on a cd like Amber suggested. I'm also bringing a regular camera with some film! I'm sooo excited!

Just had to share!
That's terrific, Ashley!! I still need to get my digital for my upcoming trip! I want a digital so bad. I think I'll just get the Canon Powershot. ???? I think that's what it's called.

So, being the good DISer that I am, posted a question over on Strategies as to why this may be. I was told that the new discount codes came out. Hhhmmm, I checked it out, called my mom and gave her the code and she called tonight and we saved bunches. YAY. Thanks DISers!!! Wow, it pays to have "connections".

I do too...I was so angry at my co-worker yesterday morning I was ready to knock his head off his shoulders!!! I was :furious: !!! I've spent the last few months learning all this billing... making all the calls, getting the headaches and going through the whole process of learning all this...he and I were BOTH supposed to be doing. He always said he's too busy to learn it... :sad2: b/c he was too busy chatting on his corvette forum...which I'm on here some too...but I get my work done!!!! So, yesterday he had the nerve to ask me to learn how to do it ...he spent most of the day billing. He is just jealous b/c he wants a laptop too...he wants the CEO thanking him too for all his hard work yada yada yada...he is so immature and pathetic! He didn't want any part of the work but now I've got it all figured out and a smooth process going, now he wants to jump in and take over the easy stuff... :furious: I DONT THINK SO!!! So, I talked to my boss about it! He's been mad at him about it too!!! So he's just going to exclude him from any of the billing stuff. :thumbsup2 I feel much better too! I usually keep my mouth shut and just go on...but not this time... he messed w/me the WRONG WEEK!!! My child has been gone 8 nights.... this wedding b.s... and it's PMS... :teeth: I admit it! The wrong time to pull his crap!!! :grouphug: Thankfully w/you guys here...it is so nice to have people to talk to!!
Linda, I am so glad that you are able to have an open relationship with your boss. That is so important and I'm glad your co-worker is not able to pull one over on anybody. I'm glad to see that your hard work paid off and he snoozed and losed (sorry for the gramatical error) but I used to work with somebody like that and it drove me crazy! But, unfortunately, she was "best friends" with the boss i.e., did things after work together. Went to eachother's houses. The girl's daughter called the boss "aunt". I didn't have a leg to stand on.)

Whew I am beat! Haven't quite caught up with the posts yet, but I just have to share this. I had the worst, scariest, most horrible nightmare ever just before I woke up this morning.

I dreamed that I was at WDW, and once we got there I realized that I FORGOT MY ITINERARY!!!

{Raises both hands!!!} Yes, I've done this before!! One time I even stepped on them!! I am so blind that I have no depth perception w/out my glasses so I can't tell where my glasses are because they blend in w/ the scenery! Oh, I am so blind.

I'm glad your mom was able to talk with your sister. pixiedust: Here's some pixiedust hoping all works out. P.S. I don't think you're selfish. And, I know what you mean about not having little ones of your own. You get used to living a certain way and that doesn't make us bad people, it's just the reality of our lives. . . and it's not selfish, it's just how it is.

Have you ever noticed in the Plum books that she always makes at least one or two references about WDW and often about a character? I think Janet must be a WDW fan. :cheer2:
I noticed that too and I agree!

You are NOT selfish!! The thought didn't even cross my mind. Husbands and Wives need time to themselves to regroup and especially reconnect! You go and enjoy yourselves and don't give it another thought. And, this is your husband's family and it sounds like he's taking charge of the situation so just trust in his decision and don't give it another thought (I know I already said that but I'm serious). Have a great time! :wizard:

Great news - I was 1/2 point away from my Rapid Reward from Southwest, and my points start expiring in Sept, so I went and rented a car for a day for 30 bucks, and earned my half point! Free airfare for me!!
What a great idea! That is quick thinking!! And woo-hoo for free airfare! :woohoo:

April::Hi to you sister!!! Fantastic news on the weight loss!!! How are those trip plans coming?? Keep us updated!!!
Thank you, Donna. The trip plans are coming. We're trying to maximize the most of our trip because it will be short. We were going to go to Animal Kingdom at opening on our first day there but I have to have my annual passes renewed (i.e. pick them up at Guest Services) and I don't know if Guest Services opens any earlier than the parks or if they open at opeing. If that's the case, that kind of stinks because all of the other guests will have a big headstart on their day. Last year it took quite a bit of time to get our passes. :confused3 Maybe it was a new CM. Not sure what we'll do yet. Thanks for asking.

Hi everyone! :sunny:

Well, today has been a VERY busy day.. I feel exhausted! Last night I got woken up to a BAM on the top of my head. My DH whamed me good on my head, with his elbow. It was so hard, I seriously saw stars, I'm surprised I didn't have a concussion! My head still really hurts.(He said it was an accident, hmm I wonder if thats the case.. ;) I think that Stephanie Plum stuff you guys always talk about is rubbing off on me..)

ANYWAY, so I got up and we went to the Barber to get DH a haircut, Office Depot to get t-shirt tranfers to practice making the matching t-shirts for the trip, and then we went to Old Navy so I could look for a couple clothes for the trip. I was so frusterated because it seemed like everything in my size was gone! I was so annoyed...So we ended up going to 3 Old Navy's! It took forever, and I didn't even find anything. I really wanted...I wanted to get a pair of black capri's for the trip and every different style they had didn't have my size!

So I ended up getting these Bermuda pants. I feel really self-conscious in them because I ONLY wear Capri's or pants, even though these aren't shorts and go barely passed my knee, it still doesn't feel like enough! I am going to wear them a little and get used to them...Then we went to the mall and I went to the Disney store and I saw the PERFECT shirt for my trip but I was feeling buyers remorse for getting some stuff so I didn't get it. :guilty: Now I want it even more! And when I went to the bathroom, DH surprised me with my favorite perfume (Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue incase your wondering :) ). I just ran out today and he saw a special at Nordstrom where you get a free bag so he got it.

So we left today at about 2:00, and didn't go home until 8:45! We felt so bad about leaving Ruby home so long, we stopped on the way home and got her a Whooper Jr. at Burger King.

I just realized this is mostly rambling, sorry!! :bitelip: I feel a little wired! I hope everyone had a great day!

And April, CONGRATS on the weight loss! I'm so proud of you!!!
