Who here is not in the "clique" like me?

Angela I remember what it was like trying to get DSs potty trained. The boys were harder to PT than DD was. He will do it when he is ready and not before.

This reminds me of an incident with Matt. He was 3 1/2 ...I told him to go into the bathroom, get undressed, ( he liked to be nakey when he went :confused3 ), get up on the toilet, do his business, wipe as well as he can and call me. Anyone notice what I forgot to say?

Yep, I forgot to specify LIFT THE LID!!!

He climbed up on the CLOSED lid, squatted and pooped all over the lid. Then quite proudly called me in there to see that he had followed all of my directions :rotfl2: Oh I wasn't laughing then let me tell you.

As soon as I was done cleaning I called Blake at work and vented, then I called my mom and vented...then I wrote it in his baby book so I would not forget and could embarrass him forever :thumbsup2

Michelle:: That story is hilarious...now!!! I can't imagine what my reaction would have been had that happened to me!!! My DS was hard to potty train too. He would sit on the potty forever and do nothing; get up go outside and pee his pants!! I was always told boys were harder to train than girls because they're lazy!!??

WELCOME Keishashadow, ntsammy5, precious pixie, and luvdzne!!!!!
 party: :welcome: :rockband:

luvdzne::What part of Illinois are you from? I'm from Illinois, also.

April::I see you are making good use of the extra points. Enjoy "Happy Hour"!! :drinking1

Linda::The house will seem so quiet, but he will be home before you know it!!

Lyzziesmom:: pixiedust: for Emma's name change.

2xcited2slp::HI, girl!!!! pirate: You and lyzziesmom are so bad!! I'm not sure I approve of your behavior!!

Angela, all I can say is hang in there, honey. Lyzzie was fully potty trained at 3 and yet refused to poop in the toilet, especially if she was away from home. After much yelling, scolding, bribing, punishing, and whining (all by me) I finally found something that worked: talking to her. Turns out she was afraid that if she stopped what she was doing to take the time to go poo, she wouldn't be able to return to her activities. This was around the time she started daycare. Coincidence? I think not. It took FOREVER to break her of that habit, but once I knew what the problem was, it helped. I also found that it worked to put her on a schedule. I'd make her sit on the potty and "try" once an hour for a while there! And at daycare, I asked the teachers to make sure she tried before naptime, since she was also too shy to interrupt naps to ask to go. Good luck, I know each kid is different, but you know he will grow out of it... eventually. I mean, he's not going to call you from college to come wipe his butt, is he?

Donna, your photo made me laugh out loud! No, it was more like a cackle. And I don't cackle. Why on Earth would I cackle? Could it be.... Satan?

Linda, try to keep yourself busy and the next few days will fly by before you know it. The funniest thing about being away from your kids is how BIG they look when you see them again. It's like they grow overnight, it's the weirdest thing. I'll be missing him for you too.

Amber, you're gonna love POP. I stayed in ASMo last year and then tried POP this spring, and I loved them both. They are actually quite similar, the rooms are almost the same, but something about POP is just so FUN! You can't help but smile when you're there. I suppose that's true about all of Disney in some way or another.

My folks treated us to dinner tonight (a rare occurrance) at a local Greek place... they had a coupon and it was kind of a dump. The food was ok, nothing special, and the service was awful. But not nearly as bad as the "entertainment." They actually had a one-man-band! And he thought he was a comedian, but didn't know how to ad-lib. Really makes me look forward to Disney even more!

Anyway, it's been a long day and I think I will turn in soon. I've got so much to do this weekend that I'm tired just thinking about it. All day today I kept thinking it was Friday, and then getting sorely disappointed every time I remembered it was only Thursday. *sigh*

Good night, and have a pleasant tomorrow!

Hello dumplings--

Everyone have a good day??

I am not even going to try to catch up with all that I have missed so, sorry if I have missed anything dire. I will read tomorrow.

Ash and Amber--I saw the cutest little puggy puppy the other day on my street (getting walked, of course) and I thought of you gals. pug: pug:

Lyzziesmommamia---are you picking a fight with me?? cuz if you are, I have to practice my girl punch--my exBF always teased me that I would break my thumb like that. Can you visualize?? What can I say, not much of a fighter. You didn't answer my question, did you like my sheets from Target?? :teeth: :teeth: Pretty, huh?? I must do laundry today. :laundy:  :rolleyes1
puckerup: double cheek kiss----aka kiss kiss

Your Greek dinner reminds me of a time when I went to a Japanese place around Christmas and the owner of the restaurant has his little "stage" set up with decorations that would make Clark Griswald proud. Well, he provided the whole place with "entertainment" for the evening. His signing was worse than A Christmas Story's Fa-ra-ra-ra-ra. Can you say P.A.I.N.F.U.L.??

How's proceedings with Emma's name change coming?? I've been keeping you in my thoughts. pixiedust:

Miss Donna-- Well, isn't THAT speyecial. Sorry to offend--but I gotsta fight for my man.
Thanks for the donuts---yummy in my tummy.

Mr. Pozey--I was going to inquire where your tatoos are then?? But, I believe someone already asked. Inquiring minds want to know.

Wow, lots of stories about cute kiddies and puppies--too bad I don't have either. I know I am missing out.

Linda--keep yourself busy--bake, girl, bake--you can send some to me. Time will fly--will you get to talk to Kenny at all while he is away?? Come talk to us. We've got one big ear. :listen:

This may be late, but WELCOME mommyintn :wave2:
Good luck with the poopy training. No advice, just luck.
(the others may try to tell you that I am a bit on the nutty side, but you can believe what you want.) :teeth: :teeth:

Hi April, DznyFan, MImom, YM :worship: :worship: . Nicole, everyone that I can't think of right now--my mind is mush.

YM-- see you got your donuts--SPOILED rotten girlie. ;) ;)

HOOT???????????????????

out

p.s.--have no idea why but the "double dutch bus" song is stuck in my head right now. anyone remember????

"the double dutch bus, comin' down the street......."

I know, YM-------HUNH?????

I've been up very early waiting for the lady to come and seal coat our driveway. My realtor found her for us and she was supposed to be here at 7AM. I had a little too many drinkie~drinks

last night and now I'm not feeling so well. :rolleyes2 I'm using this smilie as "green around the gills not feeling so well" smilie. Hey, he has a green face.

Well, it's 7:17 and she's still not here!! This is one thing I'm finding with trying to get this house ready to sell. People who provide services don't call you back. And, if they do call you back they show up late to give you estimates! Then, they either don't call you back with the estimates or after you call them they still don't have them and then they call you a week later!

They just showed up (7:20) and my DH says, "Well, at least we got somebody to show up. We're 0 for 5." :rotfl:

We also drive ourselves. Mike is VERY impatient and he would have a fit if the bus took longer than 5 minutes. Are the parking lots really that far? I read that they are far and not easy to get to. I don't mind walking, I would just like to know what to expect.
I really want to rent a car. But, because this is a last minute budget trip, if I can't get an extremely low, steal of a deal, "Look, honey, they're giving them away." rate then we won't rent and we'll just take Magical Express.
With that being said . . . I stayed at POP last Thanksgiving for a few days. I'll tell you the mistake we made  We didn't know that you could head out of the back of the lobby and get to your room quickly that way. You know, walk down the center of the resort. So, for the first morning we got up walked to our car drove around the resort (because we were in the 70's building which was the last or somewhere near the last rooms of the resort) and went in to get breakfast that way. Dummy us, we could have just walked up the middle. Because allthough the outside of the resort curves around the actual building is a straight shot up the middle.
We never used POP's busses so I can't comment on them. From where our room was, walking to our car was certainly a little hike. Not so bad when you're going to/ or coming from the parks but a little long when you're bringing in luggage (because as you can imagine it's cumbersome). Hope this helps.

Good Morning Everyone!

I am so glad it's Friday. The Direct TV guy is coming tomorrow to "hopefully' fix one of our receivers (it doesn't work if it's too hot; strange I know).

April, thanks for the info on POP. We are planning to spend our first day touring the resorts, so I'll have time to check out POP fully.

Goodmorning everyone

ForTheLoveOfDisney- I have never stayed at pop but have hear that the bus transportation is pretty good compared to others, mainly bc they don't have to share a bus with another resort. I always take the bus but I hate driving so for me its wonderful no matter if I have a long wait or not, its part of the magical experience for us.

Well I am off to take a entrance exam to get into a nursing school. I was working as a pre-k teacher for a few years and decided that I needed something different. I had been looking into schools for about a year and found one whose schedule and criteria matched my needs, but they didnt have any opening until fall of 2007. Well I got a call last week that 2 people withdrew at the last minute so now I am off to take a exam and have some more involved interviews. I feel pretty confident and if all goes well I will start Aug 28. but I a getting ahead of myself.

Happy friday everyone :teeth:

Thanks everyone for the encouragement!! :grouphug: Today is a new day and as of 8:55am no poop (in his underwear or otherwise) so it's all good. :thumbsup2 Connor started 2nd grade today, tear...tear. We got up early and left earlier than we needed to. We went to McDonalds he had his usual (egg bisquit, 2 hashbrowns), I even had time to swing by Walmart for printer ink. Anyway got to school and I told him I wanted to walk him in. He says "I don't think I want to be walked in the 1st day of 2nd grade". I told him he'd have plenty of time in his life to do things by himself, but today on the first day of 2nd grade I'm walking you in! You can like it or lump it. :rotfl:

Donna-Thanks for that awesome breakfast at WC wish I was really there this morning. :woohoo:

Pixie-Good luck with your exam I have always been interested in all things medical. Hope all goes well.

Good morning everyone!!!

 Happy Friday!

Lyzziesmom, is it you that's from St. Louis? One of our cliqueless is from St. Louis, I think... can't recall whom...

April - sorry to hear about your wait for contractors... PIA. pixiedust:
Ashley - how is Miss Ruby's head this morning?

Oh I was reading through the poopy stories this a.m., and just had to laugh. How I don't miss those days! Lyzziesmom - got a chuckle reading about Lyzzie - my girl was the same way, she didn't want to have to stop doing 'whatever' to go to the bathroom.

:teeth: your Mike sounds like my Mike...very impatient. The parking lot wasn't far from our room at all. Don't make the mistake we did :rolleyes1 there ARE elevators in the middle of the building to take your luggage up. I was thinking this is a value they're not going to have one...oops!!! After we took all our bags up to the 3 floor...we saw there was an elevator...but hey we'd just drove 17 hrs straight and it was midnight!!! I'm just planning a ton of stuff to do to keep me busy!!!

I've done that and ended up with a clogged up toilet..
:rolleyes1 Kenny did that many times too!!! But I have to be honest I started watching him and helping him and after about 10 times...I let him be alone b/c he didn't want me in there..he wanted his privacy. I told him ok but if he made a mess like that again...he was going to use his hands and get that tp out of the toilet himself... he did to it once...but we were on vacation at Yellowstone..I pulled up the trash can and made him get it out...he never did it again after that!!! He hadn't done his business in there either :sad2: thankfully he's good about that now!! But I have to tell you this hilarious story...my stepson is 24. We'd clean the bathroom and there would be urine around the base of the toilet... we kept thinking maybe Kenny was missing early in the morning or something...then Mikes son complained he had it on the back of his pants trying to blame Kenny for this :furious: Come to find out Mike asked him if he was pointing his :rolleyes1 DOWN to make sure he didn't go throught the crack... that is what it was...his 24 year old son going through the crack...he moved out last weekend...and haven't had any urine on the floor :lmao: :sad2: funny and sad at the same time!!! OH boy!!! Hang in there...he'll get it when he's ready!

Thanks! I do plan on going out a few times alone w/Mike and at least once w/our buddy neighbors. She called me last night right after they pulled out of the driveway to see if I was ok...she is so sweet. She just had surgery and she's worried about me... so sweet!! I'll just have to keep myself very busy!!

OMG, we did that last year at ASMo!! We were on the 3rd floor too! I pack a TON so we made several trips.
Then, we were leaving to go to DTD and we saw the elevators. It was only 4pm, so I can't blame it on being late (although we also drove over 14 hours AND were stuck on I4 for over an hour).

My but aren't we a chatty bunch this morning? I haven't even scooped all the sand out of my eyes yet and you gals are chirping away!!

2x2s - you wanna take it outside? Meet me behind the library after school and I'll take your girlie punches! (just kidding babe, of course!)

pixie - it sounds like you are quite the people person! Good luck with the nursing career.

DznyFan - nope, I'm from Kansas City not St. Louis. 2xcited is from St. Louis though, I'm sure she'd be happy to give you some pointers. (Or possibly some other fingers. :thumbsup2 Ha! I crack myself up!)

Amber - I don't know about the parking lots at POP, we used the buses and never had to wait more than 5 minutes. It was great! The place may look spread out but as was mentioned, there are walkways everywhere and you can go through the back of the lobby to get to the rooms through the courtyard, so it's really quite convenient. They hide the elevators behind the large icons in the center of each building.

Linda - your Kenny is soooo cute! Send some of those goodies my way too!

Hi and a big welcome to all the new people in this cliqueless bunch of bananas  !

Good morning everyone!

Thanks for breakfast Donna!

All of y'alls potty training stories are cracking me up! Is this what I have to look forward to?!

pixiedust: for Angela

pixiedust: for Pixie

Linda- Kenny will be home before you know it! I love that picture!

I stayed at POP in Dec and I liked it! The busses were okay. I loved all the themes in the resort.

Have a great Friday everyone!

...a lovely bunch of  's.

nice to read about all your furry baby stories...never heard of an allergic dog, kuddos for the good care.:sunny:

mommyintn - luv your count downs...I'm computer illiterate. Few years ago tried to download a haunted mansion countdown. what a disaster, computer got a virus that was attached to the sharewear & it fried.:ssst:

Good luck w/potty training, never my most fav. stage. Had all boys, easy to accomplish success w/#1 but, not w/#2. I thought my last DS would never "get it". Finally, I bribed him w/Toy Story vhs when it came out (I'm dating myself here LOL). It worked :thumbsup2 ! He told everyone in the store that he was a "...big boy....I go *oop on the pot...". You should have seen the faces of some of the older gentlemen, struggling not to laugh. My DS hates when I tell that story.LOL

anyone else dreading the start of school? House always seems so empty & quiet.

Lesa is my Sister-in-Law! When I was in Illinois I was there for my sister's son's birthday and to see Lesa!!( and my brother and their girls) She was the one who kept me sane :cheer2:

Great! Now you blew my cover! :rolleyes1 Maybe I didn't want people to know I know you, little own I'm related to you! :furious: :lmao: You better not say anything bad about me. ;)

I am sad that we are not going to Disney with you guys this time. I guess it makes up for for when we went in March without you. :guilty: I am jealous that you get to go on the Pirates to see Johnny, it was closed down when we were there.

Oh, and I'm sure Matt is thrilled that you just shared his poopy story with the world. :lmao: That's one way to get back at him for all the headaches he has caused you! :rotfl2:

Good morning everyone! Hope you don't mind if I join you all.

Angela have you tried giving him a book? That seems to work with DH. ;) :teeth: Sorry I don't have any advice for you. My younger dd was terrible to train. Her problem was mostly being lazy and not wanting to stop what she was doing. :furious:

Hi Donna! I am over in Crystal Lake, where are you? My dd sounds just like you Connor. She is starting 2nd grade this year too, and she is starting with the whole I'm big now I don't need you. She was asking if she could start walking herself school by herself this year as she is "going to be 8 and in the 2nd grade". I told her so sorry charlie, you can walk 2 steps in front of me, but I'm walking your butt to school. :teeth: I so love when they go through this I'm big I can do it, leave me alone stage!

Well I had better blow this joint! I too chatty yesterday and didn't get much done with my 40 something posts. :rolleyes1 That whole Sury thing will get ya hooked. I did manage to take the girls to see Barnyard yesterday. I don't know why, we could have just stayed home and watched the Lion King.

Have a good day all! :cheer2:

ETA: My dd just came in and asked me what I was doing and she looked at me typing this post. She said "wow mommy! I didn't know you could write books". :lmao: I guest my post is a little long. :rotfl:

Thanks guys!! Kenny is such a little ham!! :) I just wanna squeeze him. He wrote down my cell # himself so he could call me :cloud9: I will call him every other day or so and see how he's doing. His dad has all my #'s but he thought he might forget;) too cute!!! have a great Friday! :woohoo: it's payday too!! Gotta love that!!
