Now for some Vero pictures

I woke up early and decided since everyone else was still sleeping I would go down to the beach to watch the sunrise. I didn't get much of the sun, but the clouds took on a beauty of their own.

A nest from a sea turtle fresh from the night before. You could still see the marks in the sand from them covering their eggs.

Whew, a lot to reply to so hang on to your butts kiddos, this might be a looong one!

Lin: I like the blue Tiki stuff, we got outfits for our whole family. The wrap skirt fits me real funky, but with the tank top over it, it looks fine. The girls' dresses are so cute on them! We also got the Tiki tshirts but I don't love them. I think they are pretty weird looking, but the girls liked picking a character for each family member so we can coordinate without being too matchy-matchy. I love the idea of the Studio sketch line... I just hope they have adult AND kids sizes. We like to get stuff for all of us if we can and there is way too little of that. That's why we liked the blue Tiki - they all coordinate and all are slightly different styles.

Donna: Take the Poly! How long is your trip? For an extra $30 a day, if I were you I'd calculate if that was worth the convenience of the monorail. Take the Poly! Good luck deciding! I like pozey's split stay idea.

Lesa: I wish our town had the fireworks tonight. They are tomorrow night, which makes it too hard to get up for work the next day since they make it impossible to drive home in under an hour - even though it's only a few blocks away. Just a little too far to walk though. I think we're skipping them this year anyway. A DVC sales center outside of WDW, how interesting. I ordered the DVC DVD for my parents today but I didn't tell them. :rolleyes1 I'm hoping they decide to buy but I'm not holding my breath. My parents' dog is so badly behaved, but she listens to me real good. Probably because I'm the only one who actually yells at her and takes charge. I keep telling Lyzzie, "Be the alpha dog!" but they all just talk baby talk to her, even when they are reprimanding her. Of course she doesn't listen! Glad to hear Gracie didn't run away for the sitters.

Ours has quite a bit of adult merchandise - the tiki line (blecchhh), they've had some different jeans in, lots of adult Pirates stuff, and the movie poster ladies tees (I now have three of them.... she found a L Sleeping Beauty one, and my wonderful daughter got it for me!! ).

I love those movie poster tees, might have to go back and get one. Lyzzie loves them too and is so upset they don't come in kids sizes. She says, "Don't they think any kids like vintage Disney?" :lmao: If the big sale is still going on by Saturday, I might try the BIG Disney Store in downtown KC, we went to the grand opening a while back and the store is huge! I wonder if they have some different stuff, or maybe just more stock left. It's worth a try anyway.

pozey: Thanks yourself, for writing your "little" trip report and sharing it with us. It made me remember how much fun non-WDW vacations can be, and I felt like we were right there with your family. It also made me appreciate how easy a WDW vacation is, with everything right there in one place.

Hi 2x! So nice to see the pin-cess again. Hope you are feeling better - we always worry when we don't see you for a while.

Has anyone heard from Angela or Yolanda lately? We seem to have lost a few Cliquelessers along the way.

Well, on with the workday. I'll pop in again later hopefully with a shorter post - I'm sure you all have been posting like crazy while I've been writing this novella.

Yikes! :scared1: I'll try to post more pictures later. How time flies, I sat down here at 6:00 and it is now 9:30, I'd better get my rear in gear!:rolleyes1

Hi 2x2, glad to see your doing well! Congrats on sneaking in a trip!:yay: Yes, this was the first trip we have flown, normally we drive the 24 hrs, which actually turns into at least 2 days because I need to get the heck out of the car so much. Gee I wonder why? It was soooo nice to fly, I was ready to kick everyone out of the car on the 1 1/2 hour trip to Vero so I don't think we would have made it all the way to WDW!:rolleyes1 Madison did much better on the trip home. She was a bit more relaxed upon take off.

Great pictures Lesa!! :thumbsup2 (thumb)

2x2s, glad you were able to drop by.

As for the AP's: You can either buy a one day ticket to qualify for the meal plan or buy the amount of days you are going to be there (I would just do the one day ticket). When you get to WDW, you just go to guest relations and upgrade to an AP (you pay the difference). You will then have an AP starting then.

Lesa, those pictures are great. The ocean is beautiful.

What do the movie poster t-shirts look like? I haven't been to TDS store in a few weeks, but I have a 15% off coupon that I can use in a week or so. I think I will have to treat myself to a new shirt for my birthday. ;)

Let's see if I can explain - they're a ladies' tee - so cut more form fitting w/ the smaller sleeves - cut like a juniors' tee - and the back is a solid (coordinating) color. The front is (kind of) like a vintage movie poster - the WHOLE front - and it's not silk screened, it's dyed into the fabric. I have a Fantasia, a Mickey Mouse cartoon one, and now a Sleeping Beauty. Very vintage/worn-looking. They are really cool, and very cute! They were originally $24.95 (I think) and they're down to I think $5.99 now. I've seen Cinderella (on white), Sleeping Beauty (on pink), Dumbo (on yellow), Three Caballeros (on orange, I think), Fantasia (on blue) Mickey Mouse cartoon that I can't recall the title of (on blue), and I know there's more but I just can't remember.

Lesa, the pictures are just great - poor Maddie, she looks very unhappy in that 2nd plane picture. And the Vero photos are just beautiful. Makes me want to go to Vero, now.

You're making me want to go back to TDS and buy one of those tshirts! Sometimes that cut doesn't fit me too well, I really wish they had dressing rooms in the store. I've been known to stick one on over my clothes just to get a general idea of if it will fit at all.

Hey I don't know if you guys have heard of this new movie, Arctic Tale, but there are free tickets available at http://arctictalemovie.com/. Click on "go to a free screening" towards the bottom of the screen. I had not heard of it before but it looks interesting, and I got us signed up for tickets in a few weeks. It's not available everywhere, but if you can get them, free movies are always a good time! We did one of these free screenings for Firehouse Dog and it was really cute.

I just found out about a 4th of July parade here in town tomorrow morning, I think I'll take the girls to check it out. It's in the next town over (in the town where I work, actually) and it'll be nice to get out of the house and feel like a holiday since we're most likely skipping the big fireworks. They don't even start until 9:45pm!

Thanks for the description Dznyfan, but I think I'll end up passing. They sound super cute, but I hate the small sleeves (my arms need coverage). :guilty:

Lyzziesmom, have fun at the parade. We will be skipping fireworks too, although our neighbors will probably be setting some off (they did this weekend).

We got the blue Tiki line for our cruise. My FIL got the polo, Chris and Andrew got the Hawaiian shirt, my MIL got the tan Minnie hula shirt, Ashley got the blue and brown skirt and light blue tank and I got the navy tank. I really like the blue tiki line.

The Studio lines always come in adult and kids. I know the new line has at least 4 adult denim jackets and all the tees come in adult and kids sizes.

Good explaination! You only missed the light blue Pinnoccio one. Those shirts don't fit me right. They hug all the wrong places. I really wanted the Snow White one we had the last go around and it just made me look atrocious. We don't have any but the Three Caballeros ones left.

You're making me want to go back to TDS and buy one of those tshirts! Sometimes that cut doesn't fit me too well, I really wish they had dressing rooms in the store. I've been known to stick one on over my clothes just to get a general idea of if it will fit at all.

Eeekkk!!!! Not me! It takes us on average 2 hours to close at night as it is. If we had dressing rooms we might as well sleep the night in the store. But, I do get that its annoying.

Now, I feel the need to retract or clarify about my employees. I have an awesome core of employees, but there are only about 6 of them at this point. They work non-stop and are Disney to the core, but there aren't anymore of them coming in. Mainly because we can't hire under 18 and the best candidates we get with apps aren't 18 yet. And I keep losing employees to Disney World! Not that I can blame them!

We went to Studio Movie Grill to see Ratatoille yesterday afternoon. It was cute. Pretty funny but in my opinion not Pixars funniest film yet.

Well, I promised Chris that I would clean my desk off today because he got a new moniter for my computer and right now my desk is completely covered in who knows what. But, I don't want to!!! I hate cleaning.

I just found a site with free ringtones, I found a bunch of Disney ones and went on a downloading spree! Now it's taking forever to install each one into my phone, but at least it's killing time. I skipped lunch today because I'm leaving at 3pm for a dr. appointment - gotta go get that pinky toe looked at before it gets any worse.

Lin: By the time we bought the blue Tiki clothes, there wasn't much left. I got the hawaiian shirt for my dad and it is HUGE on him, but it was the very last one. No polos were left either. I wanted us all to have the dark blue, so I got the dark wrap skirt and the light blue tank. It's not a perfect outfit, and I won't wear the skirt outside of going to the Luau at WDW, but for the price that's ok. I do wish there were more options for women's clothing, but I'm seeing more and more each season.

The Studio stuff sounds great! Denim jackets won't work for our trip though - not in August/September. Yikes! But I'm looking forward to more tshirts that match my kids - our last set we had to buy men's and boy's styles.

Girl, the new shirts are soooooooo cute! Only thing I don't like is that they are all white, except for the Nightmare Before Christmas ones that are black!

What size does your dad need? I can see if we have it.

He needs a Large. Usually an XL is fine, but he is swimming in it! He likes either the polo or the hawaiian.

I'm going to check the other store around here too. It is about 1/2 hour away but it's in a nice shopping center and I like a change of scenery anyway. I also wanted to see if they had any shirts for my brother & his GF since there weren't enough at our store - and no way would DB wear a men's tank top, which was all they had left!

A mens tank top!!! What are you talking about! There isn't a mens tank top....they must have displayed a ladies shirt with the mens line!!!! Mwah-ha-ha-ha! If you don't find anything let me know what you need and I'll try my store!

Hi everyone!!!

Donna- Take the Poly!!!! That is a great price.

Lyzziesmom, I got all excited about the free screening and then they didn't have any theaters in VA :badpc: Oh well, it looks so cute I just may have to go see it and pay!!!!

Hi 2x. Congrats on your trip! I'm staying at the Poly in December the same time as Linda- I am so so excited!! It's my first time ever staying there.

Maybe different locations have different stock? This was definitely a men's tank top... sort of a surfer style, it was displayed with some board shorts. I think the tank was the tan color rather than the blue, but it had the same print on it. There were matching men's ballcaps too. I'm feeling like going shopping NOW - and I'm getting off work early today too. This is baaaaaad.

Ashley - they didn't have any theaters listed in KS either, so I looked under Missouri since we are very close to the state line. They had two theaters listed that are actually in KS, right in my town! D'oh!! They were just listed under "Kansas City" and since most of KC is actually in MO, I guess they just considered it part of the metro area? People who aren't from here really can be clueless that it is two different states and very different areas.

I'm floored. We sometimes don't get certain pieces due to allocation but we do all get an identical stage set book that contains all the product pictures and displays. So, even if we don't get it we see it. Maybe this was some product test? Wierd, wierd, wierd.

Hi Ashley!!!
