I got a cool postcard in the mail today!! :earsgirl: A little something from WDW was just what I needed!!!!:woohoo: Thank you, DznyFan!!!!

Ashley, I sent you a PM. Snowshoe is a couple hours from here. Friends of ours go there quite a bit for skiing. I went to Cass when I was younger; all I remember is taking a train ride up a mountain.

Lyzziesmom, I am so sorry you have to deal with that child support issue. I can't stand people who don't own up to their responsibilies (my dad was like that :guilty: )

I thought I didn't get any mail today, but it turns out Lyzzie got the mail and forgot to tell me where she put it. Tucked in among the bills was a nice little WDW surprise! Thanks DznyFan, that was just what we needed! The kids enjoyed looking at it while they ate their oh-so-nutritious dinner of Rice Chex with strawberries and sugar.

That was from Emma, she wanted to type and say hi!

Linda: I love zoos too. I'm so silly, I even don't mind the smell of a zoo, because it carries all those good zoo memories. I'm still wanting to take the girls to the Omaha zoo, but I've been overspending a little bit lately and with the WDW trip coming up in a few months, I decided to get my credit cards paid off before we go anywhere. Darn responsibility!!
the only smell that got to me was the pink flamingos:eek: yuck! you're doing the right thing, saving for wdw is much more important and getting the cc's paid off!
I think I need to stay around $400. – $500. Dollars.

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
that still buys a really nice camera!

Linda, a fun day at the zoo! I enjoyed your photos - particularly like the macro work of the butterflies.

Thanks all, for the compliments on the pix. I think I'll shoot again when we go back in October. We went the the MK first thing yesterday morning to shoot but it was so darn hot and humid that even with taking breaks in a/c shops she got hot and red. Plus, DH is talking about getting me a Maxxum digital body to go w/ my lenses before our October trip. These were taken w/ my old Olympus C720.

I have considered writing my trip report on the trip report area, but I don't know if I want to make them that public.
thanks. I'm still learning and playing around w/it. I'm so happy w/it so far!! Oct. huh:rolleyes1 I'm trying to talk Mike into a Oct. trip! Cant wait to hear more...the tr sounds great so far:woohoo:

Tonight Jeremiah & I went to see Knocked Up. It was funny but that birth scene Lets just say that made me re-think my stance on pain medication for when I give birth:rolleyes1 I'm glad we saw that instead of staying home and watching The Sopranos while it was on live- I am pissed about that ending.

I hope everyone had a nice weekend. I'm pretty excited because my Grandmother and my Great Aunt (my Grandma's sister) are both stopping by this week, coming in Thursday (driving from West Virginia, they are vacationing there this week) and staying for a day or 2. I haven't seen them since Christmas, so it should be fun!
Hope you're starting to feel better. Don't blame you ont he pain meds during delivery ;) Sounds like a great weekend w/your grandma and great aunt coming:cool1: that is very cool!!

It's funny you mention that, my Dad actually plays guitar in a band and I took guitar lessons in the 1st grade :teeth: So yeah, I might know some songs...such as "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" :teeth: But thats pretty much the extent of my guitar playing!!
How cute!! Kenny and Emma would be loving it:cheer2:
I know this is going to sound a bit crazy, but I wish I could push our trip back one week, maybe even two. I have so much going on this week I just don't have time for it.:rolleyes1
Good luck!! I know what you mean. Sometimes it creeps up so fast and things come up... but soon you'll be able to lay back and soak in some rays w/Lilly:cloud9:

"Lyzzie got her hair cut and I don't like it! She looks too different!"
:lmao: how cute!!!! She cracks me up!

Share?!?! Okay......UnderDog......got any more?? hic!

Should be an interesting week for me. We leave for vacation EARLY Saturday morning. And we are driving, so that should be an interesting experience. This will be our first "road trip" as a full family. 15 hours in a car!! UnderDog......I think I will be needing some more of that rum soon....... :drinking1

So, this week, we are trying to get everything ready to be packed by Friday night.

Also, on Thursday, we are having a "Team Building" outing. We are going to go play LaserTag!!! That should be interesting.
15 hrs in a car...done that more than once but thankfully...I only have one asking "are we there yet":rotfl: good luck pozey. all I can say is...dvd player or whatever you can take to entertain them :) Can't wait to hear about it!

The boys went fishing in a little pond around the corner from our house yesterday. My youngest caught a nice catfish! Yes, his brother is making a goofy face.:rolleyes1
how cool!!!:cheer2: great pix YM!

I can't stand people who don't own up to their responsibilies (my dad was like that :guilty: )
mine too...I really wish they could/would do more to these people!

Hi Emma :)

I know wasn't that awesome!! Thank you Dznyfan:banana: that made my day:cloud9:

You guys are quite welcome! Surprise! :teeth:

Lyzziesmom - that just stinks about having to cancel Lyzzies camp. At least she's handling it well, but she's got to be so bummed - poor girl. And I read about the child support - what a mess! I agree w/ you - karma. His time will come.

Pozey - sounds like a fun trip coming up! I'm sure you guys will have a wonderful time, especially in that station wagon! :rotfl:

Thanks DznyFan that was sweet and thoughtful and made my evening! :thanks:

Good Morning!!

DznyFan....the post card was a sweet surprise, thank you!!

Well, Nick and I are off to Cedar Point in a little while. I can't wait, well except for the bus ride with 75 14 year olds:eek:

Tonight we leave the park around 7:30 then make a stop at McD's (yum:sad2: ) When we leave there all the girls in the front of the bus and all the boys in the back...with a line of adults to separate the 2!! We have quite a few couples going, and once it gets dark...NO WAY!! Especially not after their 'dance performance' last Friday.

Nick's graduation was yesterday...he looked so handsome! I was pleasantly surprised with the number of awards he recieved:dance3:

Have a great one!!

Good morning everyone!! :sunny:
I'm looking for ward to an absolutely gorgeous day here again today!! (Even if I do have to work.) Gary is on vacation this week, so he and Nathan stayed up late last night watching a VERY loud movie!! Gary is so proud of his surround sound, and believes everyone should enjoy it. (Even if they are upstairs trying to get some sleep.:rolleyes1 )
Anyway.....how about a croissant this morning. The condiments are on the other side of the table. I also have coffee, chocolate milk and juice, if you don't care for hot tea.:goodvibes

I hope you all have a Totally Rockin' Tuesday!!

YourMajesty:: That is some fish that your youngest caught!! Are you in charge of the cleaning??pirate:

Lyzziesmom:: Lyzzie's new haircut does look so cut on her!! The style frames her face and brings out her beautiful eyes!!
Sorry about your deadbeat ex. Men should support their kids and there is no excuse for what Emma's dad is doing!! :sad2:

Lesa:: Things are going to work out just fine for your trip and soon you'll be miles away from all of the stress!!

Michele:: Have fun at Cedar Point!!
Congrats to Nick on his graduation!! I'm sure you're very proud of him!!

Well, better skeedaddle!!! Don't work too hard today and I'll see you all later!!:dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

Have a great day everyone. It's going to be 84 and sunny here today. That means we only have two sunny days left:rolleyes:

You guys are quite welcome! Surprise! :teeth:

Linda - yeah, October. Some good friends of ours who are significantly younger have a little girl who is turning 2 the end of this month. They were looking at pics of the couple during a WDW trip with us, and Emma (their daughter) says to her daddy, "Mickey's house, please!" (she's already a big Disney fan). Of course he said yes, and I can get a great deal w/ my TA discount. Her Daddy said "yes", so we're all going for a long weekend. On top of that, next year's trip has been decided. A few nights on the world after school is out, then a four nighter on the Wonder to relax afterward.
awww:cloud9: how adorable! Sounds like my boss' son. He's 2 and has always called it E oue's house. he can say Mickey Mouse but you point to Mickey and ask him who it is...that's E oue:rotfl2: hmmm maybe I can get Mike to do the TA thing part time:rolleyes1 great discounts are always exciting!! Ahhh the Wonder:love: I love those ships!! I wish we were relaxing on there now:cloud9:

Have fun! You'll have to tell me how Maverick is, if you ride it:woohoo: the weather should be pretty good too! Yay for Nick:cheer2: you have every reason to be proud!

Good morning everyone!! :sunny:

enjoy the sunshine UnderDog... you can always come visit us if you need to see more sunshine. But you know what they say about Ohio, if you don't like the weather just wait 5 minutes b/c it'll change:rolleyes1

Hope everyone has a great day. Kenny had a game last night...too cute. but I didn't get ANY pix. Mike took my camera for me and forgot to grab a cf card:eek: oh well, he has another game tomorrow and Thurs!

Linda - I was going to tell you.......

On ebay there were 2 separate bids that ended yesterday for a Canon 70 - 300mm IS lens. I missed the end of the first one, but it ended up selling for $390 or so.

The 2nd bid ended at about 11:45 last night. About 11:00 pm, the high bid was $280. I knew I wasn't going to make it until the auction ended, so I put in a max bid of $375. I woke up this morning and checked. I didn't win - the winning bid was $382.

Bummer...

Thanks for the wonderful breakfast Donna!!

Sounds like fun. Well, the Cedar Point part does. Not so sure about the bus ride with 75 14 year olds!! :rotfl2:

Way to go Nick!!! :thumbsup2 (thumb)

I remember driving to and from Oklahoma from Florida when we were young. I remember playing the road games in the car. I also remember driving to and from Florida when I was in my early 20's.

But this will be the first true "Road Trip" we have taken as a family. We already own 2 portable DVD players, but I am thinking about going to Wal Mart, Target, or Best Buy and buying the cheapest one I can find, so that all 3 kids have one and won't be fighting over who can see and who can't.

All 3 kids also have GameBoys that they can take.

So, hopefully, it won't be all that bad........hopefully!!

wow...that's pretty good for IS. I was thinking I want the 28-300 IS but for that price, maybe I should get the 70-300 is and a close up is lens...I just don't like changing lenses:rolleyes1 plus I want to check out the longer ones...like 400 or more??? oh...toys toys toys:woohoo:

I probably would too ;) I think I've driven Kenny down 4 times now...and to Yellowstone once... that took 2 days though and we split it w/a few nights at Mt. Rushmore, so that wasn't so bad. I just take things to keep him occupied, the dvd player, crayons and coloring books, his vsmile pocket... we leave late at night and drive through the night so that really helps b/c the traffic is lighter and he sleeps a good bit of it ;) I'm sure they'll do fine:cool1:

Good Morning!

Thanks for breakfast Donna!

Michele- Have a good time on the trip! Try not to go crazy! That's smart, separate the boys and the girls! :teeth: Congratulations to Nick on his graduation!:cool1:

I could have always sniped it for you and sent it to you ;) since w/the time difference we're a few hrs ahead of you. I buy a ton of Jimmie Johnson diecast on there for Mike. I love paypal:woohoo: oh, and on amazon, I bought the canon backpack for the camera and lenses..it looked better for wdw type trips rather than lugging the camera bag around.

I have seen a 500mm lens for under $100. It is an Opteka 500mm Mirror lens. I have read good and bad things about it. But for $79, it might be worth a look.

most definitely! I'll have to check that out, thank you!! so...a 50mm and a 500 mm for less than $200...not bad:cool1: worth trying out anyway!
