I had my Mary Kay meeting last night. I still wasn't inspired to really sell. They are so adamant about you either taking out a loan, getting a credit card, borrowing money, pawning something, having a garage sale, etc, to get your inventory of makeup to sell. :sad2: I don't want to get into debt, I know if I were to really sell I'd get that money back but still I don't want to do that. Now I have to have a debut party. I wish you all lived closer to me, I'd invite everyone! If you need Mary Kay makeup you know who to call!!! ;) :teeth:
Nicole, you are right...do NOT go into debt to buy their cosmetics hoping to sell them and get your $ back!!! I wish we all lived closer too!

Morning everyone.

I'm behind again, so I will try to go catch up in a few.

I stayed home sick today. I'm still feeling under the weather. I actually feel better than I did Saturday and Sunday, but that's not saying a whole lot.

I did take Chase to the eye doctor yesterday. He has 20/60 vision. The eye doc asked if Chase was active in sports and I told him yes. So, he said he had no problem with fitting Chase with contact lenses. Chase was actually a little upset - he wanted glasses. :confused3

He is actually nearsighted in one eye and has astigmatism in the other eye.

They ordered him some contacts and we have to go back in to see him when they come in. The doctor will teach him how to put them in and care for them.
Sorry you're still not feeling well pozey!

Chase contacts:confused3 wow, he's not very old. I got contacts when I was 15 or so:eek: they were hard:sad2: I hated them. Technology has come a long way though. I'm sure he'll do fine with them.

before surgery my vision was 20/400:rolleyes1 I would NOT wear my glasses when I was younger:guilty:

Some photos from last week's visit to the museum, first the kids had to check out the maps and brochures:
Picture016.jpg

They were very impressed by the lounge in the posh ladies' room and decided it would be a good time to take a nap:

Emma recognized Buddha from our many visits to our local Chinese restaurant, but she had never seen him so BIG:

That's all the pictures I took at the museum, but I did get a few good ones around the house in the past couple of weeks.

The girls pillowfighting. Note Emma's "scary hair." Also please note that despite appearances, the pillowfight was far from one-sided:

Next up -- yesterday's adventures at Girl Scout camp.
Great pics lyzziesmom!!

Good morning, Crew!!! Sorry, I had to catch up on last nights' posts before I fixed breakfast. How about a litte French Toast this morning? We need extra nourishment for all our outdoor activities!!! :cool1:

I hope everyone has a Totally Terrific Tuesday!!!!

Good morning, Michele!!! :wave2:

ps.....I noticed we are starting page 899. :rolleyes1

Donna...thanks for the yummy breakfast...you must have worked hard outside yesterday.;)

Hey Pozey...my DS did not want the contacts. The eye Dr really likes a contact that you wear at night that corrects your vision for the next day...at least that is what DH told me. Glad you got that sorted out...I know it's not too great to have your vision off.:headache:

Nicole...goodness I can understand not wanting to take a loan out to sell the Mary Kay.

Amber...I'm not liking the early DLS. Yesterday the kids thought they needed to play outside until it was dark...which threw off our evening schedule.

Hey Angela! We've made one trip to Dollywood/Gatlinburg...very pretty. It was 4th of July weekend....take about crowded.:crowded: Wow...so you are about ready to head back to WDW...can't wait to see a new picture of the boys...I bet they have grown a bunch!

Oops...I have a chart...better get back to work!:dance3:

pozey: sorry to hear you're still not feeling well. I got my glasses when I was 8, and switched to contacts when I was 14 -- I had gotten the lead role in a community theater production of Cinderella and promised them I could get rid of my contacts, then I had to run to my mom and tell her I needed contacts in three weeks! I wished I would have gotten them sooner, they are so much better than glasses (for me anyway).

Good morning everyone!

Ruby rudely woke me up by screaming at the top of her lungs this morning outside my door. :confused3 I swear I've never heard such a noise come out of a dog's mouth. She was hysterical. I tried to put her in the bed with me and she started screaming at my door. :confused3 She literally had tears running down her cheeks!!! I think she just wanted me to wake up because now shes sleeping on my lap!!

Nicole, I'm glad I was never roped into selling Mary Kay ;) I can't believe they were giving those suggestions to sell their stuff :sad2: Honestly I would tell them your intentions right away because otherwise they will hound you to death. :badpc:

Pozey, I hope your feeling better today!!!

Lyzziesmom, Did you call the doctor yet? Shallow Hal, :rotfl: thanks for the mental picture ;)

Last night I went online to find some more info about health insurance companies. Jeremiah said he called his company and they said they cant add me to his group plan :confused3 Can someone explain this to me? It talks about deductibles, some pay office visits, some dont, PPO, HMO, I don't want to call and sound like an idiot and ask a whole bunch of questions. I made the mistake though of giving them my real phone # and email address and I don't want them calling me constantly!! I've already recieved 1 call and like 4 emails. :scared: ETA I actually gave them Jeremiah's cell phone # and he said they keep calling over and over and over!!! How do I get removed from that list??! That was really dumb that I gave my real number.... :sad2:

Usually you can only add and drop people from an insurance plan once a year. That's probably why you can't be added to his plan.

Were you looking at the discount insurance plans? I don't know much about them, but I think you pay a set amount each month and when you go to the doctors, you are given a discounted rate. I looked at them once and got a TON of email. Next time they call, just say you aren't interested and to stop calling.

As for "real" insurance, here's a link that explains the difference between HMO and PPO https://www.insurance.com/FAQs/healthFAQDetail.aspx/index/7
I prefer PPO (they are most expensive) because I can just go to the doctor. I don't need to get a referral.

I have a $15 copay for office visits and $0 for the ER. So, when I go to the doctor, I only pay $15 at the time of the visit.

Depending on what I am having done, they will pay 80%-90% of a bill and I am responsible for the remaining money (it also depends on if I am seeing a doctor "in network" or not. They pay more for an "in network" doctor).

Insurance can be very confusing, especially when deciding what plan you need. My job has a higher deductable, $750 (it was $250, but the premiums-monthly payments were EXPENSIVE. Now, my job will pay the difference OOP to us. Confusing).

Did I confuse you more?

Amber, thanks for the info. I wasn't looking at "discounted" insurance, I just wanted to look at all the quotes in one place because some of the insurance company's websites were hard to navigate. But now I guess that website gave my info to all of the insurance companies so they could "compete" with each other & and give me the best price.

Ashley: usually with a group plan, there is an open enrollment period once a year, usually at the end of the year to go into effect at the beginning of the next year, but sometimes it's based on when you started. He should ask when the open enrollment is -- this is the only time you can make any changes to your plan such as adding/removing dependents or spouses. The only other time you can make any changes is if you have a "qualifying event" such as a new baby or a death in the family, marriage or divorce. That's why he can't add you to his plan -- it doesn't mean he can never add you, but not until they have their enrollment period. Does that make sense? I'm sorry but I don't have any advice as to getting insurance on your own... just watch out for scams and research, research, research.

Goodness, I hope Ruby is ok! That sounds very odd, maybe something frightened her?

Lyzziesmom, I'm not sure what happened with Ruby!! Sometimes she does that because I think shes sick of being alone. She is so spoiled!!!

I was just watching Terri & Bindi Irwin on Larry King Live.:sad1: It is so sad but that little girl is so adorable & smart!! I think my hormones may be out of whack because this and the ASPCA commericals are making me teary, and for the first time I've added two people on the "ignore" list! :scared: :snooty:

I don't know anything about insurance Ashley, sorry! Poor Ruby! Something must have scared her! You put some people on your ignore list? I have never done that before. There are some people who I'd like to put on there!:rotfl:

Nicole,
I've always wanted to also but I never bothered. :confused3 Today it was just too much though, I was getting too annoyed!!

Good afternoon, ladies! And Pozer! ;)

How's it going? I'm at the library on my lunch hour. Ainslee wanted to play on the computers so I get to DIS!!! Woo hooo!!!

I'm in a funk today. :guilty: I think I need more sleep! :)

lyzziesmom...call the Dr...the swelling doesn't sound normal. Great pics of the grils.

Hey Linda...does Mike follow Ohio State? I recall talking a few minutes about basketball with him. I know he is a Kentucky fan. We talked a little about Tubby Smith because he coached at Tulsa before going to Kentucky. My DH had texted me a message when we were waiting for our 'Ohana ADR...it was the Okla St score...not good. It was the begining of the end for them...lost 7 of eight games after that.:sad2: Well I'm sure you are sitting here thinking :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 Tell Mike I said hi and good luck to Kentucky and OSU (he he follows them).

Well...time for lunch.

Ashley...goodness...hope Ruby is ok now. I was thinking it will be much cheaper to add you druing enrollment for the insurance! Good luck.

I tried to post this this morning, but I was having computer problems again!:badpc:
Good morning, well afternoon now!

Ashley....That was very nice of your mom to send you a sick care package! And a Coach purse to boot!:cool1: I love your pictures, the one of you running Jeremiah over had me cracking up!:lmao: If you think you take too many pictures of your dog, wait till you have kids!:rolleyes1 I would have walked out too! I have not heard good things about Golds Gym. By the way, I hope I'm not one of the ones you put on your ignore list. Sounds like something juicy was going on around the dis. Details!?!?!?

2x....Shamrock shakes are from McDonald's! The one from Jack in the box sounds really good, but we don't have any of those around here.

Lin....We'll have to look out for your DH lurking on our thread! You won't be able to say anything nasty about him anymore!

Pozey....Feel better! I didn't know they gave contacts to kids that young either. That's great though, then he won't have to wear glasses.
