Lesa, Great news about Maddie!!!! I do pinecone and its great!! I get a couple surveys a week, and they send those checks regularly. You can even get it deposited into paypal if you want to! I do read the budget boards, but reading that "How much do you spend on groceries?" thread embarasses me!! I can't believe how much Jeremiah & I spend on food!!!! And how little some people spend, some people say $100/month!!!

I only look at the freebie thread.;) I used to read that board a lot, but it made me feel crappy for having any debt.:sad2: I would always get off the computer feeling like a failure! So now I only do freebies, which I have received quite a bit of really good free stuff. You have to be careful, because some of it will get you a lot of spam. I only sign up through companies that I know and I use a different email address. One great one is Walmart.com go to in store, they always have some great free samples!

I have been a member of pinecone for a couple years. They send you things to try from time to time; that's always fun.

Ashely, I can't believe people spend that little on food! Mike and I spend a lot. I wish I knew how to cut it down, but I haven't figured it out. :confused3

That link worked for me. I would join for Jeremiah but I think you can only have 1 person per household!

Yes, they say if there is an application for more than one per household they will void all membership.

Lesa, I love that freebie thread!!! I always send out for stuff. I use a different email and make up a phone number if they ask ;) Actually I usually put 000-000-0000. I can't believe what people say when talking about cooking in the room, etc!! I guess its better than not going to Disney at all, but if I had to use the coffeepot and make ramon noddles I don't think I would go!!! I would hate to stay in the room when people make some of that smelly food in the crock pot :crazy2:

Amber, I can't figure it out either. We do eat out alot, but when I used to cook everynight, we spent the same amount on groceries. I figure its better this way because now theres so food in my house so I can't eat junk food ;)

Lots of ramin noodles and boxed macaroni and cheese!:crazy2:

I also am a bzz agent. They send you stuff to try and you spread the word about it. Then you write up reports. I have received some really great stuff to try out!

I did the bzz agent thing and they sent me a whole bunch of candy!! I can't remember my log in though and I haven't recieved anything else since. :confused3

Whew I'm posting alot today!!!!

Thanks, I just got signed up for Pinecone. Yay!! I love when they send stuff to try - through another survey site we have tried fruit snacks, Juicy Juice, and various personal care products.

Ashley: I spend probably less than $100 on groceries a month. The key is, I buy very little boxed or "prepared" food, and mostly fresh fruits & veggies. We eat out maybe once a week, and order pizza about 3x a month. I don't buy any meat, if I do it's pre-cooked and/or frozen. Since I quit buying so much junk food, my grocery bill has gone drastically down. I will still buy a little junk food, but I try to limit myself to one item on each trip to the store. I also try to take advantage of coupons and sales, but I don't go crazy searching for them and matching coupons with sales, and I don't drive all over town to save a few cents here & there.

No wonder Michele tells me to get a job!:rotfl2: It's already 11:30 and I haven't done a darn thing except dis.:rolleyes1 I'm otta here!

I'm a bzz agent too. From them I got a box full of Take 5 bars and a Sonicare toothbrush (it costs around $60 in the store). :cool1:

We don't buy a lot of junk food either. I do get a lot of chicken, but we want until it's on sale. We got to Sam's and stock up on some things too. I just can't igure out why we spend so much

Mike just called and he got his paycheck. The raise was on there! We were so worried that it wouldn't be (even though we had it in writing).

Yay:yay: !!

for the 3 of us we usually spend $100-$150 a month on groceries. Mike is great about watching the budget. He shops at Meijer, Wal Mart and Sav a lot. where ever is cheaper, except certain items we are a little more choosy:rolleyes1 but canned goods and stuff like that... I'm not picky!

Here is a biggie that helps. we started trying this site... it is only $25 for the main menu and you get a LOT for $25!!! The specials for $18 are usually pretty good. we like the new york strips and the chicken cordon bleu...

http://www.angelfoodministries.com/menu.asp

you just pick it up at the local church that participates. very quick, easy and good food.

but I do have to get 10# of king crab legs a time or two through the year and we do eat out probably 2 or 3 times a month... that isn't included in the monthly total.

Do you guys remember last week when I needed to get a certificate of prior coverage from my old health insurance company? Well after calling no less than 4 hard-to-find phone numbers, it came in the mail yesterday and it's WRONG! My employer changed our insurance plan mid-year last year, and the certificate only lists the first part of coverage and not the 2nd part of the year. So there's an 800 number on the bottom of the page to call for "further information and questions." So I called it... it's a recording. I listened to the whole thing, and at the end it says "for more information or if you have any questions, press 0" so I did. It took me back to the beginning of the recording!! There are no other options! I found the number that originally got me through to a person and they got it straightened out, but they can't guarantee that it'll arrive in time. Ugh, I hate this!!

Sorry, just had to vent.

In other news, Emma's corrected birth certificate finally came and this time it's RIGHT!

yay for Emma having her birth certificate straightened out..:cool1:

good luck w/the insurance issues... that stuff makes me pull my hair out:sad2: I liked Lesa's smilie for that one!

I just never passed the test. I took it twice and failed so I guess I feel like I can't do it. I guess its just a mental thing. I've had my permit since November 2003. I was thinking of trying again when I visit home, because I want to keep my Florida license (and in Virginia as part of the test you have to parallel park! I definitely can't do that!!!!) I know its stupid, if I could pass the test and drive Jeremiah to work, or even get a cheap car it would be better and maybe I could get a part time job and meet new people.

Ashley, I failed three times and passed on my fourth. I couldn't get the three-point turn down and one time I turned into the wrong lane (to this day I swear I didn't). You could always contact a driving school and pay for a couple of lessons focusing on exactly what you want to do. I have a friend who is 30 and just got his license last year and thats what he did. Being able to go do things you want to do opens up a whole new world. Plus, having a job is a great outlet and introduces you to new people and a little extra spending money. Girl, we know you can do it!

Just signed up!:yay:
Me too! Hope I get accepted!

Ugh, so sorry girl! They should rush it to you since its there mistake...but like they will admit they made a mistake. But, yippee for Emma's birth certificate!

Well, lunch and shopping were fun but tiring. My MIL is the queen of 20 questions and has to know EVERYTHING about EVERYONE, and she never takes a hint that you might not want to talk about something. She treated us to lunch at Neimen Marcus and it was delicious!!!! Tonight we are all meeting up for Ashleys birthday dinner at Benihana's. Chris will be there to take the edge of the question game.

Think I'm going to go walk the girls! They are staring at me mournfully...

Have a great evening everyone!

Good morning everyone. Happy Friday. Yay!! It’s Friday!! And it’s PAYDAY!!

Donna – Thanks for the donuts!!

Well, Chase came home with a letter from school saying that he did not pass the vision test they gave at school. Well, it said that he could nor read the line that he “should” have been able to read.

I need to get him to the optometrist next week.

Good luck at the eye doctor, poor Chase. I was 12 when I first got glasses.

Can you say selfish?!?!:rolleyes1 I alway knew she didn't like to share!:rotfl2:

Hey!!! Watch it or no picture for you!! :goodvibes

I would go insane...ok, more insane (:rolleyes1 ) if I had to stay home all the time by myself. Hopefully all the Crew motivated you today!!! YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!:thumbsup2
