Good morning, Crew!!! Gee, where was everybody last night? Watching the Oscars or something perhaps? I finally gave up about 10:30pm and went to bed!!
How about an omelet and some potatoes to go with it?

I hope everyone has a Marvelous Monday!!!!

Mmmmm, can I have a perked cup of coffee with that? :thumbsup2

Morning all! I can definitely tell it's a Monday. First I forgot that I had set my alarm for a later time on Saturday for Girl Scouts, so it didn't go off on time this morning. Luckily my weak bladder woke me up, but I was still running about 20 minutes late. Then when I was putting my face on, I dropped my concealer brush, full of liquid makeup, and it bounced off my arm onto two spots on my brand new shirt - and didn't want to wash out, so I was left with two small spots of makeup each surrounded by a large water spot. Lovely. Then my hand slipped and I ended up with a nice black mascara smudge across my cheek - also lovely. And last of the makeup mishaps: eyeliner dropped into the sink before I had a chance to wash the toothpaste out. Ick. I ended up having to bring Emma over to my grandma still in her PJ's and 1/2 asleep because the girl did not want to wake up. Oh well, the day has got to improve from here!

Linda: stop it with the cruise pictures already! Kenny was just always a cutie, wasn't he?

Yolanda: good luck on Thurs w/your DH's job stuff. It sounds like it's going very well! I fell asleep during the Oscars too. I didn't know who a lot of the people were, because I don't really watch a lot of movies. And ever since I got the DVR, I don't watch commercials much either, so I really felt lost!

Amber: yuck, stuck in the snow! Glad you were finally able to get help. It was supposed to snow here yesterday but all we got was about 2 minutes of flurries. I said, "I think it might be snowing," and then it was over. Not even enough to see in the air unless you were outside in it, and even then it was hard to tell.

Well I'd better try to get a little work done... talk to you all later!

Good Morning!

Thanks for breakfast Donna!

Nicole: I was wondering the same thing about the land/sea. I was thinking, if I still have an AP it would probably be cheaper to book separately, but who knows. I'd like to settle on some dates, because like Linda, I have a diff. website I check and sometimes they have DCL cruises - only the sea portion - for up to 75% off, but the bigger discounts are for farther away bookings. That is so backwards from the rest of the cruise lines, all their bigger discounts are for sailings within a week of booking! I like to travel on the spur of the moment, but I don't think I could do that.

I was thinking about booking them separately too, because I want the DDP.

It's not always cheaper one way or the other. You just have to try our dates both ways. The major difference is this. W/the land/sea package, you can't buy the DDP, BUT they do include 7 day park hopper passes. We added the no expiration feature and now have 4 day tickets to use another time! The packages don't include a value at all. If you do the package,a non verandah room gets you a moderate resort and the verandah rooms get you a deluxe room. It is the land portion first, then cruise. I'm pretty sure all of 08' rates are out. I'd have to check.

Thanks for the info!

Donna...I bet some of those cakes were awesome. I'm w/you. I don't have a good enough imagination. Gimme a pix and I can try to re-create someone else's

Same here!

Nicole: you got me thinking, maybe Linda knows the answer to this question. If you book the cruise & WDW portions separately, can you still use the Disney buses to get to & from the port? Does that cost extra? I just don't know how any of this works. I've only been on two cruises, and both were with my family so I didn't have to take care of any of the details. I don't want to be surprised with a bunch of extra costs!

Anytime :) we like the DDP, but no biggie either way.

Actually either way you book it, you have to PAY for the transfers:guilty: ME is free, dcl transfers are not. It is around $60 per person round trip. We always drive so we could take 2 people w/us in our car. We just pay the $12 a day to park our car at the port. It is actually cheaper to rent a car than to pay the transfers. The only good thing about the transfers is that they take care of your luggage.

I know what you mean...I'm trying to think of all the extras. A big extra expense for me is the pictures they take onboard. They take some great pix. I spent around $130-$140 just in pix!!! You don't have to buy them, but they're great! Just always much better than the ones I take w/my camera.

lyzziesmom, I sure hope your day gets better. Mine started out w/some chick about smashing into my car b/c she wasn't looking while changing lanes:mad:

Lyzziesmom- I was wondering that too. I'll have to check out that site Linda told us about.

Linda- If you don't mind could you tell us what extra money we might need. I don't want to be surprised either!

our entire tab for our cruise was just over $300! NOT BAD!!! $130 was for gratuities, another $130-$140 of it was pictures...the rest was a few adult drinks Mike had, some dramamine b/c we ran out:rolleyes1 . Ok, maybe I happened to forget 1/2 the box in the car ;) That was about it. Our lowest tab ever! You don't have to go crazy ;)

Maybe if some of us want to, we could rent a car too.

Depending on how it works out, a few of us could possibly rent a van or an SUV together to save on the cost of the rental and the parking. $60 each person is a lot for a transfer. Just for me and the girls, that would be close to $200 just for a bus ride!! :scared1: I know that might not be a lot for some people, but that's a lot of money for me.

Oh, you would also have to pay to go to the adult only restaurant. It is $10 per person for dinner and brunch. I'm telling you, it is the best $10 spent onboard. The food and service are incredible!! I think the high tea is only $5.
If you order soda at the bar, you pay for it. You don't ever have to do that though b/c by the Mickey pool they have fountain drink station where you can have all you want. There is also tea and coffee etc.

$10???? I am so there!:rotfl: Sorry I am asking so many questions!:o

another great site just for info is www.castawayclub.com
The navigators are what they leave in your room w/that days events.

I would plan for a 3 night cruise... $32.50 per person for gratuities,
for me:rolleyes1 I will plan $60 for pix. In 3 days I can't imagine buying as many as last time;)
$20 for adult drinks. I think Mike bought 2 or 3. They were $5 or $6 for the ones you don't keep the cup.
If you have to have the transfers: $60 round trip. you can pay 1/2 for one way.
For the 3 of us I'll plan our tab to be around $200 total. Unless I am bad and shop in the gift shops too much:rolleyes1 They don't change the merchandise very often, so from cruise to cruise, they usually have very few new things added.

you can even drop it off near the port so you don't have to pay to park it.

definitely! then drop it off at port;) Plus I would see about sharing a room if possible. You pay for 2 people per room minimum.

It is $ well spent! No problem... I love DCL!!!:cool1: I'm getting so excited and Mike is still saying he won't say yes or no:sad2: yet. He's not sure if/when he'll have back surgery. I'm sure we could schedule around it:confused3

Yes, the dates are open for booking. I'll have to start some shopping and see what kind of group rates we could get. Show me the deals:woohoo:

I'm back! Good morning everyone! I didn't have much time to catch up over the weekend, as you know I was my Dsis Michele.:) It turned out to be a very busy weekend.

I haven't read any posts except this last page. It sounds like there are some plans in the works??!!:sail: It wouldn't happen to be another cliqueless convention in the works would there?:yay:

I see the smilies have once again changed around.

Thanks for breakfast Donna!

Well off to try to catch up. Did I miss anything important???

Donna - thanks for breakfast!!

Wow...I justed posted number 2000 and didn't even celebrate. I'll try to bring out my best dancin.................

 :dance3: :woohoo: :dancer: party: :rockband: :disrocks: :cool1:
 :dance3: party: Congratulations, YM on 2K!!!

I gave up chocolate for lent and Thursday morning (the first "official" day after Ash Wed)---was flying out the door as usual to get to my treatment and without even thinking grabbed a small bottle of something and downed it in the car. I was sitting at a stop light and it hit me that I just drank chocolate milk!!!! So, I made up a new rule that liquids don't count.:lmao: :confused3

There was some excitement here this morning. We are surround by woods. The owner of the lot across from us has been clearing the land for the past few months. He had been piling everything up into several massive piles. Today, he decided to light them on fire. He didn't get permission and had no way to control the flames (there is no house there yet, thus no water). Oh, and it is VERY windy. It got out of control, so the fire department showed up. They put it out and he will probably be fined. Why he thought he was doing a good thing is beyond me. I just hope he doesn't try it again (most of the piles are still there).
Very scary, Amber!

I always wanted to join the Girl Scouts when I was little and I wasn't allowed. :sad2:
Ashley, that's so sad.

My day has turned kind of quiet. It's so windy here. I think we have a wind warning. :scared1: Pozey and DznyFan...what do you think of the wind today?
Ugh - it was horrible! But the good news is.... Spring is almost here!!! I'm SO tired of the grey and the cold.

I only saw Little Miss Sunshine but I am watching the Oscars. I like to see what everyone is wearing!!! :cool2:
So what did you think of LMS?? I loved it!

Yeah, you're right... The movement at Animators Palate can get a little rough. We'll all just take something that night ;)
I was torturing myself even more last night by watching Samantha Brown on "great cruises":cloud9:

Here is a pix at Castaway Cay (disneys private island in the Bahamas)
Kenny was 2 1/2!

a little play time in the Mickey pool anyone?

Great pix as always - were you watching the one with the Freedom of The Seas? Is that a great boat, or what!?

Oh what a morning!! I hope it's not indicative of the rest of your day! :flower3:

Great news guys!!:woohoo: :cool1: :cheer2: just for starters I went to the disneycruise.com to get a starting point for prices. I always decline the ground transfers and trip insurance...for the 3 of us, it quoted $2301!
We all know we can get better prices at other sites, so this is good!:yay: :dance3: Plus if we book several together:faint: this is awesome. It woud be close all that month...but I checked the last week for Halloween ;)
