Thanks! Ainslee goes to half-day Kindergarten (morning). After school she comes to my class and hangs out with me. My students have nap time when she arrives, so we have lunch together and then come back to class and I read with her for at least 30 minutes. She loves to read little books to me. Her teacher has no idea Ains can even read yet. They just focus on letters and sounds and sight words. I do that stuff in my pre-K class!!

So, when do you start nursing school? Do you have it all figured out yet?

how awesome!!! Kenny goes 2 1/2 hrs in the morning too. They are reading small books in class. His teacher is so awesome!

We just kind of agreed that we can/should make this happen. I went and checked out a school last fall, but not sure if I'll be able to go there. Or, if I even want to go there. It's private and they're growing VERY rapidly. I'm not sure if that is a good thing. I liked when it was nice and small ;) There is a waiting list at most of the places around here. I'll have some research to do for sure. I've been driving down here for 8 years. The 80 miles one way and minimum of 3 hrs driving every day is just really gotten to me. I don't want to be gone 60 hrs a week anymore! I feel like I miss out on way too much w/Kenny. I hate that! It's time to go through school, get a job I love, and I'll be able to get a good job that is close to home. 3 12's sound great to me!!!

:wave2: Hi, Bonnie!! Nice to see you here again!

Pozer!! :lmao:
(sorry, couldn't resist.)

Pozey - I saw those. I could find them for around $500 at one of the online camera shops. I just don't know. There's so much else I could do with $500 - like put a down payment on a CRUISE! I might compromise, and just find a non-SLR that gives me image stabilization, high optical zoom, and the ability to override auto settings - most particularly overriding the aperture. I'll have to look at what's out there. It's been so long since I've camera-shopped. Or... I might just pack up the ol' film camera! Actually - I did find the XT somewhere for $319 - but I need to go back and look to see if it's body only or body and basic lens. (probably like a 35-70mm or something.) To get the lenses I want, I'd wind up spending as much as I would on the Minolta.

cruise?

cruise?

great. now I'm talking to myself. :sad2:

My DH sent me an email earlier this week. We've been looking for a good winter break or spring break cruise to take, as you know. He found a four-night celebrity cruise that goes to Key West, then Cozumel, sailing on December 22 - for $1,600 - in a Concierge room!! That's for the three of us. You know - I can make do w/out a digital SLR. But I'm thinking - I DO need a cruise. I wish Royal Caribbean would release it's summer '08 dates.

decisions decisions! At least your dh looks too :) Mike just says : "you plan it and I'll be there" sometimes, I do really love that though ;)

1600 in a concierge room:eek: that is awesome!

Courtney won't start Kindergarten until year after next. But she already LOVES books. She will bring book after book to me and/or DW for us to read to her. I wish she could start Kindergarten a year early.

I know you can pick up the Canon XT at a pretty decent price. You might even be able to find the original Canon Digital Rebel (the 6.2 megapixel one) somewhere even cheaper. I know when I bought my XT, it came with a “kit” lens. It is an 18 – 55 mm lens. But then, I already had a 28 – 300 mm zoom lens I had previously with my film camera. I have since added another lens.

Forgot to tell everyone……I got my latest “toy” yesterday. My GPS Navigation system. I plugged it in at lunch and used it to drive to the restaurant our department was going to. Anyway, I think it may need some tweaking. I plugged in the address to the restaurant. And off I went. It told me to go down and turn left. So, I turn left. Then it proceeds to tell me “please make a legal U-Turn at the earliest convenience.” Huh? I’m going in the right direction. It shows my destination on the screen right in front of me. Yet it kept telling me to make a U-Turn. :confused3

So, anyway……I plug in the address of my office on the way back. Again, it tells me to turn left at the next intersection. So I do and I am going toward my building. AGAIN it tells me to make a U-Turn! :confused3

I think I’m gonna have to work on this thing!! :rolleyes1

How is that for irony - your GPS is lost!

HI...Bonnie, Linda, Pozey and DznyFan

You guys have been chatty today...cruises and cameras...wow...I know which one I would choose;)

As I'm sure Pozey knows...the voice of Big Al from Country Bears is.....

Tex Ritter

I have spent the afternoon at my mom's with Lesa and the rest of the family...we talk a lot!!

Have a great day...I will try and check in later:hippie:

pozey: just don't end up like those guys you see on the news once in a while, who drove into a ditch or a train or a building, or off a bridge because their GPS told them to, even when there was no road there!

But now that I think of it, maybe it was correct……here I am driving back to work……and it’s telling me to make a U-TURN!!! Darn it!! I had my chance to turn and run AWAY from work……and I missed it!!!
