Good Morning!

My car was covered with ice this morning and after I got it all off and drove to work, no one was there! So I am back at home and will probably go back later.

Thanks for breakfast Donna!

Pozey- That is a sign!!!! Good luck!pixiedust:

Lyzziesmom- Have fun at the dentist!;) I need to make an appt. soon too.

Lin- I'm going to go read your TR now!

Ashley- I hope your tooth stops hurting.

Have a great day!

Nicole: Is your work closed, or was everyone late because of the ice? If they are closed, it would have been nice to know that before you did all that work getting the ice off the car - that is no fun! At least you get some extra time at home, that is always nice.

Nicole..no one at work:eek: that's unusual isn't it? Maybe b/c the weather? I'd be really ticked if I drove here and noone was here... an hour and a 1/2 drive ;)

Oh...I forgot to tell you guys. Last night after wrestling, I was getting the bathroom ready for him to take a bath. He says " Mom, I want to do this this for the REST OF MY LIFE, even when I'm fifty":lmao: He kills me!!!

It is closed for half a day. Yes it would have been nice to recieve a call!

Wow that's a long drive!:car: It takes me about 10 to 15 mins to get to work!

Kenny is too funny!:rotfl:

Linda: that's too funny about Kenny! I guess you have a future wrestler there huh? Sewer will be proud.

Well, I just went to Braum's for lunch - with a stop by Marie Callender's for a pie to take home. It began to snow ever so lightly while I was out.

Some neighboring schools have already cancelled classes for tomorrow. I'm sure Broken Arrow and Owasso will do the same.

DW called and said she drove around the city of Muskogee on her lunch break. She said that she would guess that 85% of all trees in the town are heavily damaged. She said about the only trees that are not damaged are the mighty Oak trees.

pozey: wow it sounds like you guys were hit really hard with the ice. Hope things get back to normal soon. I bet the kids are loving all the time off from school. Lyzzie actually gets upset when school is cancelled - she loves school!

Well I went to the dentist and it's not good. He gave me a referral to an endodontist for a root canal, and said then I'll have to come back to him for a crown. This sounds painful and expensive! I wanted to get it taken care of before WDW but with all that, I think I'll wait until after I get back. I've never had a root canal or a crown, and I'm not really sure what all it entails, I'll have to look up some information and also find out how much my insurance will cover. Ugh!

I just talked to my mom, her sister in Albuquerque said they got 16 inches of snow! Which is very unusual, I guess in all of last year they only 1/2 inch of rain. She also said the entire state of NM only has something like 22 snowplows, so the whole city will be out of whack for quite some time.

i am fairly new and don't "belong" to a group. i just like reading the threads and commenting when something strikes my interest. it's a fun place to be, and i've learned so much information. it's good to see others are the same way.

Yeah it sounds that way :goodvibes

That's a lot!!! wow... its such a mess to clean up too.

:headache: I hate those. Mike just had one and I think he paid a few hundred oop for it. It takes more than one visit...or for you it sounds like one visit to each of them for it. They just can't put the crown on right away.

:scared1: no thank you!!! Hope she's ok and stocked up on everything!!

Hi piglet50:goodvibes you're welcome to come here anytime. We're a friendly group. A little disney crazy...but that ok ;)

Well, where our house is, the ice isn’t that bad. We got mostly sleet. We didn’t have any tree damage in my neighborhood.

Muskogee is about half an hour southeast of where we live. They got
almost all freezing rain. And a lot of it. It just accumulated on the trees and power lines.

I want to drive down there after work tonight, and take pictures and look around. But it might be too dark for any good pictures.

The kids are having a pretty good time being out of school. They are with April - our neighbor/friend/adopted daughter/babysitter today. And since they will most likely be out of school tomorrow, they will probably be with her tomorrow as well.

I just had to share this!!!:lmao:

HAVING MOM OVER FOR DINNER!

You don't even have to be a mother to enjoy this one...

Brian invited his mother over for dinner. During the course of
the meal, Brian's mother couldn't help but notice how beautiful
Brian's roommate, Jennifer, was.

Brian's Mom had long been suspicious of a relationship between
Brian and Jennifer, and this had only made her more curious.

Over the course of the evening, while watching the two interact,
she started to wonder if there was more between Brian and
Jennifer than met the eye.

Reading his mom's thoughts, Brian volunteered, "I know what you
must be thinking, but I assure you Jennifer and I are just
roommates."

About a week later, Jennifer came to Brian saying, "Ever since
your mother came to dinner, I've been unable to find the
beautiful silver gravy ladle.

"You don't suppose she took it, do you?" Brian said,
"I doubt it, but I'll send her an e-mail just to be sure."

So he sat down and wrote:

Dear Mom:

I'm not saying that you "did" take the gravy ladle from the
house, I'm not saying that you "did not" take the gravy ladle.
But the fact remains that one has been missing ever since you
were here for dinner.

Love, Brian

Several days later, Brian received an email back from his mother that read:

Dear Son:
I'm not saying that you "do" sleep with Jennifer, I'm not saying
that you "do not" sleep with Jennifer. But the fact remains that
if Jennifer is sleeping in her own bed, she would have found the gravy ladle
by now.

Love, Mom

Lyzziesmom- Ouch! I've never had one done either. Yeah, it would be best to wait until after the trip to get the root canal done.

Pozey- Wow, that was alot of damage, we just got a little bit of ice and everyone freaked out!

I went to work today for a couple of hours, I didn't want to but school starts tomorrow and I needed to get it done.

Good morning, Crew!!!! It didn't get as cold here as originally predicted...our outdoor thermometer reads about 18. How about some more sweets this morning??

Donna...I'm just starting on the thrid basket and I'm really enjoying the sunshine!:dance3:

Hello to all the cliqueless crew! Well, just as Pozey predicted no school tomorrow. We got a nice dusting of snow out here around noonish which was like pouring a little water onto the ice....nice and slick!

Pozey and DnzyFan....have you seen the forecast? Snow and ice on Sat/Sun? I had tuned out the news the last couple of days as I had reached capacity and was starting to get a little crazy.:crazy2: Well the crazy part is still valid.

Nicole...lookes like Texas is getting some weather they aren't accustomed too?

I have to work tomorrow so I'm trying to figure out what to do with the kiddos??? I could check with the neighbor but since it's so crazy with kids I'm thinking about trying to get them to grandms'a...hmmmm now I'm thinking out loud.:rolleyes1

Hope everyone is having a good day....lyzziesmom...sorry to hear about the bad news on the tooth.:scared: :flower3:

I had heard! more snow! well - snow would be OK, just not ice. It's so flippin' slick everywhere, you can't get any kind of footing - just slide around! Since I'm finally at work, I'm not so crazy.

Root canals really aren't that bad.

Hey Hidde Ho neighbors.

Well, it looks like winter is finally coming to the Upstate. :cold: It looks like it's only supposed to get up to a high of 37 tomorrow. They say that there will be ice storms in the mountains and in the valleys but we're hoping that it misses the Blue Ridge, which is where we are.

I spent all day yesterday trying to secure a great price for a rental car. It looks like the best price I can get is $180 including taxes and fees. It's ok, but I hate paying for a rental car. Don't get me wrong, I love having a rental car, I just don't like paying for it. :rotfl:

Oh, Lyzziesmom and anybody else who cares to read, here is that account of my haircut that I got down here. I really REALLY need to find someone who can cut my hair before the trip.
Anyway, here it is:
When I lived in Delaware I went to a woman who had a salon on part of her home but she was terrific!! She was the only person whom I've ever been able to just walk out of the Salon loving my haircut and not have to go home and "Re-do" it!! She knew how my hair layed and she was just TERRIFIC!! She really had a gift. That was about six months ago that my hair was cut and it's really starting to look sloppy and my eyebrows really needed to be done.

So, I took a chance and went to JCPenney. Why Penney's? Well, because I just didn't feel good about opening up the phonebook and going to say Millie Lewis Salon (this is a real salon). Now, Millie Lewis may be very good but you just don't know. I guess I just thought that Penney's was a national name and I felt I was in a pickle and really needed a trim. How can you mess up a trim?

Well, let me tell you how you can mess up a trim!!!! :furious: Go to Penney's in Easley that's how!! I was so upset when I left!! I don't know if I can fix it myself. I don't even know what she did to the sides. She cut it, then blowed dried it. Put some curls in it with a curling iron after she blow dried it with a round brush. . . THEN she starts cutting it again!!! How can you cut it after you've curled it and "shrunk" it up with the heat of the blow dryer and iron?? It's not even laying flat and even!! I was in there for almost two hours (just shy by a few minutes!!) for her to butcher a trim!! My husband was like, "What did you do? Get it colored or something?? What took you so long?" I was like, "I don't even want to talk about it!! No, I didn't get color, she was just savoring the momenbt butchering my hair!!" It was bad. And like I said, I only wanted her to "clean" up, "trim" up what was already there!! I'm no hair dresser so maybe it's harder than what it sounds but it's not like I was asking her to create a whole new do, I just wanted her to follow that pattern that had already been created. She kept trying to get both sides to look even I guess (at one point) and then she says, "Hhhmmm, one of your sides is thicker than the other." Well, instead of trying to "fluff" up the thinner, frumpier side, she takes out a razor and starts chopping up my hair!! And like I said, that was after she had curled it all up. I'm just SOOO disgusted now!
Well, I need to get caught up. I really want to see if Lin has told us about her interview/trip.

Oh April, I feel your pain! I too once made the mistake of going to Penney's salon. NEVER EVER EVER AGAIN!! They asked me if I wanted conditioner, I was like, um... ye-aaaaah. So, then after a similarly botched haircut, they charged me something like $70!! For a CUT!! Apparently there was a $20 charge for "deep conditioning." I eventually got them to take that off, because that was NOT what I asked for, but I hated the haircut. I'm not so thrilled with the one I got this week either, but it seems like no matter what I do to my hair it looks the same three weeks later anyway, so why bother paying a fortune at a frou-frou salon if it's only going to look good for less than a month? From what I've seen in your pictures April, your hair is similar to mine. Thick and wavy, but doesn't want to curl the same in each spot or even the same every day? It's a pain in the rear end! I just don't fight it anymore, I just look at it and think, Ok... so that's what we're doing today.
