Who here is not in the "clique" like me? Part 3

Linda, my brother is like Mike's son. Josh thinks the world revolves around him and we owe hims something. :sad2: He's 21 and lives at home. My mom pays for everything, even his car insurance. I hope everything works out for Mike; I can't imagine a judge would make him pay his son.

I have good news. I don't know if anyone remembers me talking about Mike, his job, and him wanting to work elsewhere (and the opening at another company). Well, Mike's friend/coworker was hired for the position. He gave his notice yesterday. They asked that he and Mike come in for a meeting today (didn't say what for). Anyway, they offered him more money to stay and offered Mike a promotion/raise! I don't know if the friend will stay, but Mike is pretty happy. I just hope everything works out.

Thanks, I sure hope you're right ;)

Yay:yay: :cheer2: I remember you talking about that. A raise? what's that?:scratchin That is so awesome! I hope it works out too!!! Good luck and congrats to Mike!:woohoo:

another 1-3" of snow tomorrow:sad: I hate snow!!!

Ok Kennys birthday is Monday... Hmmm what should we do this weekend? I've got to plan this childs party:rolleyes1 I'm usually on top of everything way far in advance...but this year I just had so much going on!

Hi everyone!!!! TGIF!!!!

Ruby seems better today. Her eye is still alittle weird looking but hopefully it is healing.

Lyzziesmom, What is this about another trip?? You already have another in the works?!!! details, details!! I guess you do have that AP you have to get the most out of!!!! Wow, $1500 medication :scared1: That makes me feel better!!!!!!

Linda, I'm so sorry about Mike's son. :sad2: It seems so weird that he would think he is entitled to that money!!!! :confused3 I don't even know why a lawyer would take that case!!!! Get to work on those party plans girl!!!!

Yolanda, say Happy Birthday and good luck to your husband!! Have a great trip.

Hello to everyone else, I hope you all are having a nice day!!!!!!!!!!!

DznyFan:: Ym and I shared a Pressed Pot at the Kona Cafe. We decided it was "ok", but for 7.99 for 2 cups of coffee, it wasn't that good!!:snooty:
And as I recall...you got in trouble with the waiter!:rotfl:

YourMajesty::Sorry you're having to deal with the bullies at school. Nathan has been coming home with little bruises on his chest......I saw them one day when I was getting his clothes out for school. He told me a kid had been trying to pinch his "chest parts" as you would say. I questioned him about who was doing it and right now I'm keeping an eye on him, hopefully no more bruises.
Every once in a while we have that at school. The kids call them t*i*t*t*Y TWISTERS We have suspended kids for that. You can always tell when they're at it again...you see all the boys walking down the halls with their arms folded across their chests.

Here are some pictures of my snowglobes; sorry for the poor quality.

Love the pictures!! What room do you have them in? The shelves look good.

Good morning everyone!

Well, were going up to Telluride for my DH's 40th birthday so i will be absent for a few days.

I'm with you all on the camping thing-- I don't like it and I don't do it. Just not my thing.

It looks like DH got the job! :cool1: They are flying us both out in 2 weeks to meet with them and discuss the final numbers. He is the only candidate they are looking at.

Well, gotta go finish packing. Have a great weekend everyone!
How fun!!! Have a great time in Telluride...be careful!! Happy Birthday to your DH!!!

I can't remember if you said...where is the job at?

Good morning cliquless crew. The kids are out of school today fighting away.:rolleyes1 They would probably say mom is on her computer AGAIN.

Thanks everyone for the responses about my DS's friend at school. The teacher handled it perfect. This is the first time I've called a teacher before but I'm glad I did so this problem would not escalate. The teacher did agree that this is "competiteve" in natrue and that we should look at seperating them next year. Hopefully my DS will pick up some tips for handeling such situations and use them in the future. I think any parent just hopes that their kids pick up the skills to handle the the put-downs and the one-upping....I'm sure there is more to come.

Yeah Michele...glad Blake got to come home last night. I guess he's racking up airline points for your next getaway!;) :woohoo:

I love the comment!!

I'm glad the teacher handled it correctly!! That makes it easier for you, knowing that things at school are being taken care of.

I think Blake has about 200,000 miles right now. I am trying to use them for June. I can't get the times I want, tho. I think Blake wants to just buy our seats and use the miles to upgrade to first class!

:cloud9: that is too cute!
 tent...no thank you.

:yay: Glad Blake made it home early:cool1: Don't be playing w/his butt:rotfl2: Sorry, couldn't resist!
Aw!! why should you have all the fun!?!?

I forgot to tell you, my not so DSister sent the girls a letter telling them that she is coming in the spring and would they like to stay at the hotel with her.:scared1: Like that will happen!!!

OMG!!! I can't believe she thinks that is going to happen!!:scared1: She is nuts!!

Sounds like separating them would be a great idea for next year. I know its normal but it is still heartbreaking for us moms! Kenny sees me head for the computer and he'll say " Mike, she's getting on the disboards AGAIN":rotfl: Have fun w/the kiddos at home today!

Well..it happened... Mike got served papers. His youngest son is sueing him for his college fund that he didn't go to college for and wants the $$$:sad2: I guess he doesn't realize it's going to cost him much more than that, his relationship w/his father. Not that he cares I guess. Just sad! I don't see how he thinks that $ is his...but I guess the judge will decide. In Kennys 529 plan it says if you don't go to college, it's the parents b/c THEY put the money in there! Guess we'll see!
Unbefreaking lievable!!!! This must be breaking Mike's heart:sad2:

Exactly! What is even more annoying, he's claiming he has bills for the 6 months he did go to school from 3 years ago. Mike told him to bring them over and he'd pay them...he says his bills aren't any of his business and to just give him the $. NO WAY!

Gracie needed to get some energy out:rotfl: Too funny!

I agree. He doesn't deserve a dime either. I know it has to break his heart. It is so hard when it's your kids:sad2: You want to help them, but sometimes, I think we help them too much. then they expect it. They go to court next month, so I guess we'll see what the judge says.
His other son says he doesn't want involved and isn't loosing a days wages to testify the truth:eek: after all we've done to help him! I paid a weeks wages to help them for Kenny and I to be in their wedding! So soon we forget:sad2:
This is such a sad situation, I can't even think of what to say!:grouphug:
Linda, my brother is like Mike's son. Josh thinks the world revolves around him and we owe hims something. :sad2: He's 21 and lives at home. My mom pays for everything, even his car insurance. I hope everything works out for Mike; I can't imagine a judge would make him pay his son.

Hurray!! Mike got a raise and a promotion!!:cool1: I'm glad it seems to have worked out

Wow, so much to catch up on. Here's the quick version:

Linda: I'm so sorry you and Mike have to go through all this family crud (cleaned up my language). Lyzzie's dad is like Mike's son... he is 38 & lives at home w/no job, and gets mad when his parents "make" him do stuff like buy his own clothes or clean his room. Responsibility? What's that?? I can't imagine any judge would side w/Mike's son.

Amber: congrats on your Mike's raise offer, that's great news!

Yolanda: have a great weekend - more great news for your DH!

Ashley: I don't have another trip on board... yet. But my mom told me I need to save $$ for the next one! And almost every day they mention they really want to go again if there is free dining.

We had a minor crisis at work today... the power went out and smoke was in the building, so the fire dept was called and we were dismissed for 2 hours and told to come back after the situation was assessed. Turns out the transformer blew and some wiring melted so the building was shut down for the day - yay for a day off! But here's the stupid part: since we have no general manager or HR person at our location, we had to wait for permission from Corporate to leave. They made us come back to work and get a memo from the building manager before we could go home. Some people went home when the fire first happened, and some of these people live up to an hour away... and they had to come BACK to pick up a sheet of paper giving them permission to LEAVE! Our management is so screwy.

I want to take the girls to Great Wolf Lodge for the weekend, but I can't find rates anywhere on the website! I was looking for rates when our power went out this morning, and after everything settled down I came here to Mom's house, and then Emma napped - in the computer room of course - and this is the first chance I've had to log back on. I guess I'll just have to call for rates & availability, you can't book online for same-day reservations anyway.

Have a great Friday evening, my cliqueless buddies!!

Lyzziesmom- Oh, I've always wanted to go to Great Wolf Lodge!! Have a good time, if you do go!!! And I don't blame your parents for wanting to go for free dining- I think thats when Jeremiah & I would go if they released it again, too!!!

Love the pictures!! What room do you have them in? The shelves look good.

Thanks. The black shelves are in the living room. The smaller snowglobes are in my bedroom. I have some in the kitchen too, but I didn't take pictures of those.

I think Blake has about 200,000 miles right now. I am trying to use them for June. I can't get the times I want, tho. I think Blake wants to just buy our seats and use the miles to upgrade to first class!

Upgrading would be great!

Lyzziesmom, I think Great Wolf starts at $200 a night.

ETA: The minimum I found was $274 and up to $339.

Well we are not going to Great Wolf - they are sold out until next week. They are running a special for $159, but it's only good on weekdays which obviously won't work for me unless I take a day off of work. Next month they are running another special for $179 so maybe we will try again then. It's hard to spend that much though, esp. for a couple nights, because I just keep thinking that for the same $400 I could spend almost a week at WDW at a value!! (not including airfare of course, but still).

I just switched purses to a really cute one I bought on our trip, it's black leather with Mickey on it and his pants are red sequins. That sounds tacky, but it's actually very nice. It's a good thing I did this today, because I came across my speeding ticket which I had completely forgotten about, and the payment is due on Monday!! So I paid it online, and then got all paid up on the rest of my bills so I don't have to worry about them anymore. Whew that feels good.

It's snowing out, and it was snowing so much that my normal 20-minute drive home from Mom's house took me almost an hour! And then I came home to find that the idiot garbage collector left the trash can smack in the middle of the end of the driveway, but of course with all the snow I couldn't really tell where the driveway was so I just assumed it was on the side as usual... so I drove over my lawn a little bit. Ooops!

Yes, I was a bad girl, pushing that plunger down unsupervised like that.

We called them titty twisters too, I just wasn't sure I wouldn't get censored.

Amber:: I love all your snowglobes!! How long have you been collecting?
I'll keep my fingers crossed that Mike gets a raise and promotion!! That would help out a lot when starting a family.;)

Yolanda:: That's terrific news about your DH's job!!! Hopefully your new climate will be a bit more pleasant.

YourMajesty:: I hope things are resolved with your DS and the "other" kid.:goodvibes Are your boys out of school Monday also? Nathan has a 4-day weekend.

Linda: My heart goes out to Mike and what he's going through with his son. Maybe some day his son will grow up and realize how he's acted towards his dad. What a jerk!!!

Ashley:: I'm happy to hear Ruby seems to be doing better. Give her a hug from me.:goodvibes

Lesa:: Oh, poor Brittany!!! Making her listen to gospel music AND Paul Harvey!!!:lmao: Sometimes we just gotta use our Tough Love tactics!:thumbsup2

lyzziesmom:: :woohoo: :woohoo: You got your tax refund!!!! What's with the airfare anyway? Just haven't been any good fares out there lately.
The Great Wolf Lodge sounds pretty cool, but I'm like you, I'd rather save my $$$ for a Disney trip.

Well, I think I'll go get comfy on the cuch for a bit. Talk to you all later.

I've only been collecting for about three years.

Mike and I talked more and it really seems like his promotion is going to happen. I really hope it does. It should allow me the chance to stay home if I want.

Lesa, I love your tactics! My mom used to do that to me...she would turn on the oldies really loud and sing at the top of her lungs ignoring everything I was saying. Come to think of it, she still does this...

Amber, how great for Mike! And wow to all your snowglobes.

Linda, I'm so sorry for what Mike and you are going through. Prayers and pixie dust for the situation!

Ashley, don't worry about the medicine. Ruby is a trooper!

Yolanda, happy birthday to your DH! Have fun in Telluride and good luck on the job!

Lyzziesmom, yippee for your tax refund and a short day! You would think that your management would have let the building manager just send them a notice that the building was being evacuated for the day and call it good...corporations make no sense to me.

Nicole, how is your moms jewelry class going? Thanks again!

Not many posts tonight...everyone must be busy!!

Blake and the boys are home from skiing so I can head to bed now.

Good Night everyone....have a great weekend!!:cool1:

:bored:

Wow...where is everyone today?

Blake and I have a meeting this morning, then we are going to my brother's this evening.

In between some grocery shopping must happen:rolleyes1

Have a great Saturday everyone!!

Since Donna isn't here yet...I'll supply breakfast...enjoy

Hey, Michele, thanks for supplying breakfast this morning!!! It was delicious!!:thumbsup2 Is this something you and Lesa had on your trip?
Enjoy your day today.......I did my grocery shopping Wednesday.

We got a couple inches of snow last night. Whooppee That's about all to report in my world. Except Gary was on his laptop last night and asked who I knew at Southwest.com, because he's still getting e-mails about flying your sweetie on Valentines' Day. I made a remark that airfare to Orlando was about $169 each way...what's up with that??!!! I had been checking out Allegiant (the airport is only about 50 mi. from our house and we don't have to drive into St. Louis). the fare for Allegiant are $79 each way for our time frame in July. He said "Sounds like we're flying Allegiant". :woohoo: :woohoo: Now I have a trip to plan!!!:dance3:

Amber:: That's great about Mike's promotion being a pretty sure thing!! Yay!!!:cheer2:

Hey Michele:wave2: Thanks for the breakfast. I'm falling behind these days.:rolleyes1

Hey....I had forgotten about the scolding for the kona pressed pot.;)

We have basketball and birthday parties today. My nephew had to cancel his party due to illness. We've had tons of kids out with the flu, strep, bronchitis, etc.

Hope everyone has a nice Saturday.

wow...that is too bad for Lyzzies sake!
Come back an hr for a letter:furious: I think I would have told them to go fly a kite. Everyone in the building was sending them, obviously they were aware of the situation:sad2: I would have been fuming! Or I'd see if someone else could fax me their copy:rotfl: nothing like cheating like in HS ;) I love Great Wolf Lodge! Ours started out as Great Bear Lodge 6 years ago. I took Kenny there several times! It use to be the cheapest room was $249 but it's gone up some w/o specials. Now I won't go unless they have a military rate of $119 or something  They built Kalahari Resorts waterpark that is MUCH bigger and better that we can usually get a military rate there for $119 too, so we just usually go there anymore. Kalahari reminds me of a disney resort. My first time there I thought..."if Disney were to build an indoor waterpark, this is what they would have built":rotfl: is that bad or what. Its very nice though! Your girls would love GWL! I'm w/you too though thinking..this $ shoudl be saved for a disney trip. Esp. w/you getting the AP ;) ahh decisions decisions:laughing:

I just switched purses to a really cute one I bought on our trip, it's black leather with Mickey on it and his pants are red sequins. That sounds tacky, but it's actually very nice. Cute purse. I think I saw one like that at dtd. good thing you found/paid that ticket :)

Linda: My heart goes out to Mike and what he's going through with his son. Maybe some day his son will grow up and realize how he's acted towards his dad. What a jerk!!!
I'm sure he will someday, but w/Mike it'll be too late:sad2: such a sad situation!

I've only been collecting for about three years.

Mike and I talked more and it really seems like his promotion is going to happen. I really hope it does. It should allow me the chance to stay home if I want.
Staying home:banana: that would be so great if you wanted too! I probably could...but I'm just not comfortable not working at all. I think of all the $ I make and it could be used to save for retirement, for cruises, vacations, just so many things you just want and need...and I keep going like the energizer bunny:rolleyes1 I could/should either cut back or get a job closer to home! Just something in the brain that says you don't want to take a major pay cut:scared:

Lesa, I love your tactics! My mom used to do that to me...she would turn on the oldies really loud and sing at the top of her lungs ignoring everything I was saying. Come to think of it, she still does this...
Linda, I'm so sorry for what Mike and you are going through. Prayers and pixie dust for the situation!

thanks for the p&pd :) I really do appreciate it!
I agree..ONE letter to corp. should have been enough!:sad2:

Ohhh that looks familiar :) Kenny had that about every morning on the cruise :) I love the Mickey foods. Esp. the mickey ice cream bars!!!
Have a great Saturday too :) I don't think we have ANY plans today. We were invited over to friends but I have no babysitter...so we'll just be here I guess. There are only a few people I've ever had watch Kenny for me:rolleyes1 My mom and my step-son. given the situation, I'm not even going to ask the step-son ;) My mom has to work...so, we'll just hang out here. I don't play cards anyway but they play other games too. Its good to get out and socialize w/the other couples that all get together... maybe next time.
