Some more photos, from our cookie-baking session this afternoon. Nothing fancy, just some cut-out sugar cookies. I didn't feel like shopping for any additional ingredients.

Lyzzie really was having a good time, despite her lack of smiles!

Thanks for letting me share my pictures!l

April: I've noticed a lot of people use the DDP and either don't really understand it, or try to squeeze every penny out of it by getting more than they are supposed to. That's what causes a lot of slowdowns at the registers. As long as you and DH read the brochure they give you at check-in and don't try to take advantage (I'm sure you will and won't, respectively) you will be fine. They have all the snack options clearly labeled now, I'm telling you if you try it you will love it, and so will your DH! If he really does not want to use it, maybe you could try it in Feb and then you can tell him how easy it is!

Amber: I agree that most of the Wonders of Life pavilion, from what I remember, was not THAT cool. Body Wars was fun, because at the time there were not too many motion simulator rides. I think it came out shortly after Star Tours and it was a big deal. I remember Cranium Command as being really cute and fun, did you see that? They used to have an exhibit which I think they've since removed, that was in the main area of the pavilion and it was a bunch of hands-on exhibits that reminded me of a science museum, they were all educational things about how the body works. That was always my favorite part! I hope they are considering updating and reopening the pavilion for good. Perhaps this partial opening is a test run to see if anyone is still interested? I think Epcot is somewhat losing its educational feel which is a shame. Yes they have added a lot of fun things, but it's kind of sad that they feel the need to take out the educational feel of the park in order to add more "fun."

ok-- I have a problem and I'm going to ask your opinions about this situation if you don't mind. Apparently, during school on Friday, another student in my sons class hit my son with scissors. It broke the skin. I had arranged a playdate for my son after school-- so he went home with one of his friends. His friends mom overheard Keagan telling her son about the incident, so she had him call me to tell me. I had no idea this had happened. By the time my son called, school was closed for the weekend. To make matters worse, my son (who goes to year round school) is tracking off for the next 4 weeks. My son told me that he had told the teacher (they had a sub that day) and the teacher told him he was fine. So, my son tells me another little boy in the class saw this happen. I call the other boys mom to verify that this was an intentional act and not an accident. The boy intentionally hit my son with scissors :furious: . Now, it's not a huge scrape, but big enough that it has now scabbed over. Being on the PTO, I have the principles cell number for emergencies. I decide to call him. I'm going to meet with him on Monday.
Sorry I know this is a long story  . Anyway, I'm trying to settle in my mind the final outcome I'm willing to accept from this situation. The boy hit my sons arm. According to the other child, there wasn't an argument before hand and myu son and this child were not even playing together when this happened. I volunteer weekly in class and I know that this boy is hyper. According to my son and his friend, this boy has kind of been picking on kids for the last week. I definately do not want this to ever ever happen again. I am upset that the substitute did not (in my opinion) handle this correctly. My son should have been checked out by the nurse and this should have been reported to the principle right away. I am unsure about what punishment I want to see happen to the boy. I don't beleive that he is violent, but this bothers me. He certainly needs to be held accountable. I'm thinking that do not want my son in class with this child anymore. I am willing to move my child to the other class-- his best friend is in that class and so he is fine with that as well. What do you think?

Thanks. Sorry for the long post.

WOW!! That was handled wrong! :furious: I'll tell you what happened recently at our school. 7th grade girl, SpEd/EI, was screwing around with the scissors they were supposed to be using for a project. The teacher observed the whole thing. She fake tripped and almost caught him with the scissors. Then had 14 different excuses as to why she would do such a thing ( each  than the last )

Keep in mind she is SpEd, which has its own rules, and she didn't actually make contact with him. She was suspended, at home, for 3 days!!

Also, and this is a big one------THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR PRAYERS!!!!! My dad said there is an excellent possibility that my grandma is coming home today!!! She finally ate a bit on Friday and a little yesterday and her infections are under control, if not gone.

Hurray!!!! So glad to hear that she is better!! :cool1:

Amber
:cheer2: Welcome Home!!!!! :cheer2:
I want to hear all about it!! I read the trip reports board all the time, just to live vicariously thru someone else :teeth:

Lyzziesmom... What a beautiful tree!! Wow you got socked with the snow didn't you? We still have none. Actually it snowed a little bit this morning, some actually stuck but it was gone in an hour or so.

Took the boys to the mall this afternoon. Lordy I'd forgotten how much I hate the mall on a weekend in December. Came home and did more shopping online! It's the only way to go! :rotfl:

Briana didn't get home from work last night until 2:30am A company had their Christmas party at the bowling alley. She ended up helping in the bar most of the night. Their bar tab was over $1500  She did well in tips tho!! She prefers to work in the bar over the kids parties she normally gets. The tips are way better!! :thumbsup2

We find out in about an hour and a half which bowl game Michigan gets to play in! Actually I don't care, not really a Michigan fan, I went to Michigan State!!

I'm gonna color my hair tonight. Doesn't that sound like fun  :confused3

Have a great night everyone!

Michele: I can totally relate about the mall. You are a brave woman! I keep meaning to bring the kids to see Santa, but keep finding excuses not to go. I know it'll only get worse, though. Especially Emma needs to see Santa, last night the pizza deliveryman had on a Santa hat and Emma is convinced that Santa Claus delivered our pizza!

We did see Cranium Command and the premise was cool, but the video was dated. We also saw the Making of Me, which also had a dated video. I did like the exibits they had and spent most of our time in WOL doing those. I told Mike we had to go in to support the pavillion, since so many people want it reopened (I think it could be really great if they did some updating).

Lyzziesmom, the pictures are cute! You already have snow. I was so worried we were going to come back to snow, but it's just cold. When we left WDW yesterday it was 74º (at 3:30am) and when we got home, it was 38º!

Pozey...I guess you are not at the game since you posted today. Do you ever go to the bowl games?
We stayed home this time. We go to bowl games and such whenever we can.

We went to the Orange Bowl in 2000. The year we won the National Championship. That was awsome. We also went to the Big 12 Championship game in 2004.

We wanted to go to Kansas City this weekend for the game, but I couldn't find a hotel room until very late in the week. And with the snow we had.....I'm glad we didn't go.

I'm online now researching hotels and tickets to the Fiesta Bowl.....

lyzziesmom.......GREAT pictures!! :thumbsup2 What beautiful eyes your Emma and Lyzzie have!!

Good thing that our "guy" has three kiddos. :rolleyes1
I’ll share my “childbirth” stories….

Colton’s due date was March 17th. He was born April 10th. :rolleyes1 DW’s doctor let her go a couple of weeks before he wanted to induce. So, he admits her and they try to induce. DW never even had contractions. So he sent us home.

A week later, he wanted to try again………still nothing. Then they took ultrasounds and determined that natural childbirth for DW was not possible. Birth canal too small. So, they did a C-Section.

I was present during all three C-Sections. What an experience!! It was fantastic!! :thumbsup2

Linda...I like the idea of a late Le Cellier PS. The 4:00pm might even be too early for me(if I have any delays). What time does Donna's flight get in?
Donna, remember it's EMH on Friday at Epcot....so you will have plently of time to walk off your meal. :tiptoe: We could have a couple of reservations and let someone cancel when it gets closer??

Ym... you're right...why didn't I think of that :confused3 I'll make the adr for later too and we can decide then. Donna can call if she gets delayed. No biggie. Great idea!!
Oh YM... l&d rushed b/c they had Wed afternoons off :furious: I think I would have lost it. Wow, doesn't sound like either birth was smooth and easy. :guilty: That stuff sets me off too!!!

Donna ...the dr had office hrs til 11:30...I'd be furious too!!! They care more about their own tee times  Nathan was 6#2oz :cloud9: I about fell over when they told me Kenny was 7#14oz! I expected him to be much smaller.. at least they were healthy.

Dznyfan... you're right the way they compromise our care for their personal beliefs or their personal schedule  I still get upset over Kennys delivery. I'll have problems for the rest of my life b/c of that man.Grrrr!!! Good luck w/the snow and ice. Hope school is cancelled for Erin.

Nicole... 4 or 5 years...no problem ;)

Yolanda... :grouphug: for the l&d story.... and :grouphug: :grouphug: for poor Keagan. That kid needs punished! Being suspended sounds good ::yes:: He needs to learn to be responsible for his actions!

2x... Ok..I'm jealous ;) you'll have to teach me the cha cha slide :rotfl: That is one of my favorite songs :rolleyes1 It reminds me of being on deck 9 for the sailaway celebration on the disney cruise. I have the cd :ssst: don't tell
I'm so glad your grandma is doing better and finally eating some food :cheer2:

Amber hey there!!! Glad you're back. I can't wait to see some pix :woohoo: sorry Mike got sick though :guilty: I can't stand rude people like that. Thankfully Mike is a pretty big guy too and don't take ANY crap. We missed you too!!

lyzziesmom...your Christmas tree is beautiful. I don't see any of those ball ornaments that are blue :confused3 Those are Emmas favorite :teeth: Yay, Santa delivers pizza now :woohoo: :cloud9: she's so adorable!

Hey there Michele...looks like Michigan will be playing OSU again. That will be a good game once again. I'm like you. I really don't care much...but it will be a good game to watch.
eta...wooops guess they just said we're playing Florida :confused3

Yesterday we took Kenny to see Santa and to Chuck e cheeses...did I tell you that already? if so, sorry. Today one of my friends came over and brought my Partylite order  she brought her son over that's Kennys age...they played for a few hrs. while we just hung out. That is always fun. they brought their new puppy. part pomeranian. A whole 1.5#... then Kenny and I baked some cookies.

Hey pozey Good luck finding your reservations for the fiesta bowl.

Where did the weekend go??? why do they always go so fast???

Thanks so much for the American girl emails Lesa! We'll be getting you an order soon.

2X- That is great news about your grandma!

Lyzziesmom- Wow, that was alot of snow! I love your pink tree, it's so pretty!

Welcome back Amber!!!

Hello!

Amber, welcome back! Sounds like, for the most part, you had a great time! It's still amazing to me how rude people can be. But I'm also amazed by how nice they can be also. Glad you had fun!

2x-- that's great news about your grandma. Hope all goes well

Thanks for thoughts about Keagan. I meet with the principle tomorrow. I think I can be calm and rational and firm at this point but I have to admit that this one just pushed all my momma bear buttons :furious:

Well, I've gotta go make dinner :stir: Have a great evening and keep warm!

Just a few more "winter" pics....

Gorgeous pix as usual pozey! I have to ask, what kind of camera do you have? Your photos are always so crystal clear.

Ok I'm having another DBF "situation" here and I would like you guys' input. As you know, time together has been an issue for us. Well it has not gotten any better. The last two dates have been duds. Three times in the past weekend he was going to come over or do something with me & the girls and had some excuse not to - or just plan did not show up. He would then text me late at night or the next day claiming not to have received my message. Last week he got fired from work - did not bother to tell me. Yesterday he once again backed out of plans with the addition of "but we will all do something tomorrow." ALL meaning with the kids.

I just finished putting the girls to bed. Since I know he never answers his phone, I texted him "I give up." The response? A text message: "Give up on what?"

Most of me wants to simply text back with "you." BUT... being the too-nice person that I am, I feel this is not something that should be done in any way other than face-to-face (which is mostly why I've been wanting to see him, it just is not going anywhere). Or at the very least, over the phone. It seems disrespectful to dump someone via text, or without having a civil conversation about it. On the other hand, respect is something I haven't seen here in a while.

If it were you, how would you respond?

Oh Lyzziesmom, I'm so sorry you are having these issues. He doesn't seem to have much respect for you or your time, or your girls. If you are leaning towards a break-up maybe meet him for coffee and call it quits. My thoughts are with you girl, you deserve the best and he doesn't seem to be the best.

My favorite Christmas song is Do You Hear What I Hear, and O Holy Night. I also love Marshmellow world. Chris took the computer in to Best Buy yesterday and apparently the typing thing was a fluke, but he brought me home the Rat Pack Christmas CD and it is awesome. It has a version of Marshmellow World that is Frank, Dean and Sammy. It rocks.

Chris and I are dog sitting at my parents til later tonight. They flew to Minnesota for my sisters bridal shower yesterday morning and will be back tonight, but their flight out was delayed and won't take off from MN til 8:30. But, I didn't go into work today, I am taking a Holiday day today or I was going to kill someone.

I was also a premie and in ICU for a couple of weeks. I almost didn't make it. I hope my kids are healthy and happy when we start adding to our family in a year or so.

Later lovies!

I have a Canon Digital Rebel XT. It's a digital SLR. It was my "Christmas" present last year......bought just a month or so before our May Disney trip. :cool1:

I am proud of the pictures I took of the kids sledding.......they were coming down the hill very fast, and they look like they are just sitting still.

Oh Lyzziesmom, if I could I'd go to KC and give you a hug right now. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: I don't think he respects you at all right now, that's just not right. I think you need to have a talk with him and just end it. You deserve someone who will love you with all his heart and want to spend all of his time with you.

Good evening everyone!! :wave2: I've been home from the girls' shopping trip for about 2 hours, but have been reading/catching up and getting the neglected laundry together. :laundy: :teeth:

Yolanda:: Sorry to hear about your son's hand!! I agree, the Sub really complicated the issue by ignoring the situation!!! When my DS was in Kindergarten one boy stabbed another boy in the hand with scissors and the child was suspended from school for a week. I really don't think letting the child just stay home from school is much of a punishment, IMO!!! Hope it gets resolved to your satisfaction. :thumbsup2

DznyFan:: Sounds like your neck of the woods is still in a deep freeze!! Hope Erin gets to stay home from school tomorrow and not have to venture out in the ice, it's so dangerous!!

2x2s:: I'm so happy to hear your Grandmother is doing better!! Is your little nephew still doing ok??
Sounds like your niece's party was a smashing success!! I have to wonder why your Sis chose to have the party last 4 hours!!! Geesh!!! :scared1:  :crazy2:

WELCOME HOME, AMBER!!!
I'm sorry Mike got sick. Sounds like you had an awesome time!!! :woohoo:

lyzziesmom:: Yummmy!!! Cookies!!! You can pass some over to me!!(Like my butt needs more cookies!! :teeth: )
I love seeing pictures of the girls and love your tree!!
Emma thinks Santa delivers pizza!!! Too funny!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
My only advice on the DBF is... you deserve better than how he has been treating you. :grouphug:

Michele:: Isn't the mall something else on a weekend!!! We went today and I just longed for the days when I used to have Tuesdays off and could do my shopping on a less hectic day!!!
Have fun tonight. :teeth:

Linda:: Sounds like you had a fun day. Kenny got to see Santa, go to Chuck E. Cheese and have a friend to play in the afternoon??!! He ought to sleep like a rock tonight!!! :cloud9:

pozey:: Love your snow/kids pictures!!! I still can't believe how much snow you all got!!!
ps. I just read about your camera...that is awesome pozey!! It DOES look like they are just sitting there. Great pics!!

Lin:: Did you enjoy your day of RNR?? I can't believe somebody else knew the song Marshmallow World!! :lmao: I was beginning to worry about myself. :rolleyes1
Oh, bless your heart, you were a premie, too. :grouphug:

I had better get this posted before I lose everything. I keep wondering off to take care of other things. Hope everyone had a good weekend!!
