Boy am I out of the loop...didn't even know there were clicks here???? It's High School all over again?????

Anyway...glad I'm not in the click!!!! :surfweb:

Good Morning Everyone!!

I have 17 pages to read! I hope everyone had a great weekend.

I will be back after I catch up.

We had a great weekend! Glad to be back to work and have things more calm so I can catch up on my Disney research. Thus feeding my obsession.

I showed my binder to my sister this weekend. She laughed that we have an itinerary set for our October 2007 trip. Though I think she secretly appreciates that her magical trip is being planned for her.

What is your best Disney Tip for the day?

Greetings everyone! I haven't read through the past few days posts, seeing as I just got home about an hour ago.

The trip to Chi Town was wonderful, I absolutely loved that city. We walked, and walked, and walked, and walked.....

Got there around 5:30 on Friday evening, and at a huge, awesome Pizza at Giordanos. Saturday was spent in the City, with a morning walk through the Magnificent Mile, then a great lunch of hot dogs, polish sausage and Italian Beef sandwiches at Portillo's followed up by our Ethel's Chocolate Lounge chocolates for dessert. We then went to Millennium Park, checked out the fountains and the 'bean', and off to the theatre for Wicked. Incredible show, and a beautiful theatre - the Ford Oriental Theatre.
Dinner at Fogo de Chou (meat, meat and more meat), a long walk back to the car and a ride back to the 'burbs to catch some college football and sleep.....
Sunday we were back in the city, went to the Gospel Brunch at the House of blues, - if you ever get a chance go to this!!! Then a bus ride and long walk to the Field Museum, a water taxi ride to Navy Pier for a wander about there, then a long long walk back to the car, back to the 'burbs and dinner at Gino's East pizza, followed up by a late night trip to the Cold Stone Creamery - yum....

2x2s - we didn't eat in St. Louis on Friday - we went through town and I saw the Hill area - beautiful!!!! We wound up stopping at a Ruby Tuesday somewhere in Illinois! Lunch today was south of St. Louis, in a cute little suburb - my DH wanted White Castle, which we don't have here.... So we bought a bag full and ate most of them on the ride home.

That's my quick trip report - will catch up on everybody's posts in the a.m.
Nite, all! I"ve got laundry calling!
Sounds like you had a great trip. Any photos to share?

By the way....did you know they are planning on opening 3 Ruby Tuesday restaurants in the Tulsa area? Also.....the "other" restaurant out by Bass Pro is a Lone Star Steakhouse.

OK, I just caught up. :teeth:

I wish I could join you on the meet, but I don't see how I could. :guilty: Mike and I are trying to go back in late April. I doubt if I could afford to go three times in a year (we are also trying to go back next Nov.)

2xcited2slp, :cheer2: for the posts!!

Now, I have to do some work. I really don't feel like it though. It's raining AGAIN and I think I'm getting a cold. Good news though: Lost came out on DVD today!!! I just love that show.

Pozey...you mean your DS wouldn't ride the rickety old roller coaster...my youngest (6) is the same way. I'm not sure if I would...I always feel like I'm going to be slung out onto 21st street. :teeth:
That made me laugh!! No, he will ride almost any ride except for roller coasters. He even rode The Mummy ride at Universal Studios back in May.

As for me......I just love rickety old roller coasters!! :cool1: :thumbsup2 :rotfl2: (but I love your reference to being slung out onto 21st street!!)

One of the oldest, ricketiest, teeth-jarringest roller coasters was the one at the Pavillion in Myrtle Beach. And it is about to be torn down. :sad1:

Oh my goodness I missed a lot this weekend!!! WOW!! Yes, Mike is retired military. We've never stayed at SOG but it is really nice! Walking distance to Poly plus can get discount tickets etc. If I can talk Mike into going....which I am sure I can if I ask at the right time :rolleyes1 we could get the other 3 rooms and buy tickets for everyone w/the discount.... but if you want to stay somewhere else...that's fine too... between military or AAA... we can usually do ok. A trip sounds fantastic!!! Kenny's birthday is Feb.19th so I've always wanted to go in Feb  !!! we did agree that one year I decide where we go and the next is his choice...but you know how that goes :teeth: !!!

2x2s :woohoo:  :cheer2: Happy 700 posts...and you've NEVER been on test track!!!!!We've GOT to change that!!!! Kenny will hold your hand and tell you it'll be ok! ;) He was a little scared the first ride..then he wanted to go again and again and loved it!! we were watching travel channel this weekend and again it was..."is that faster than test track?" :rotfl: I love him to death!!! Plus they had wdw and dcl on there so that didn't help!!! A trip sounds so great!!!!

YM hope you're feeling better :grouphug: thankfully Mike is!
Donna... I had to work...for work  our office is taking over the FL offices and I have to do all the billing and get them on track of how jobs should flow...and they emailed me over 80 jobs to bill by...today GRRR!! I'll get them straightened out!! Oh...I am so excited about a possible meet!! that would be so awesome!!!

Ashley..don't worry I've traveled alone all over the country and you'll be in good hands! we won't let anything happen to ya :grouphug:

Dznyfan...glad you had a great trip! Great to hear from you!!!

I better get some work done... :rolleyes1

Oh...I wanna go!!! I wanna go!!! :cheer2:

here is a pix of the hair back in a pony ready to get done at breakfast and high tail it to EE!!! Fashion obviously isn't my hightest priority while at wdw;)!!

2x2s.......Happy 700th!! :cool1: :rockband: party: :rockband:

I have photos to share, but must upload them all into my computer, then upload to my photo site... I will share with everybody as soon as I have them in.

I've been trying to work and read through the multiple pages of posts I missed. I should probably just give up.

Things I did manage to catch:
April - it was good to hear from you, and hoping your carpet got taken care of this weekend.

Hope everyone made it through the fallout from Ernesto OK!

2x2s - glad to hear the pie came out OK for you!
nice shots our our boy JD, but poor Pozey - no scenery for you.

2x2s - :woohoo: :dance3: :woohoo: for 700 posts!!!! NO test track???? Say it isn't so!!!! I don't care for roller coasters, LOVE TT.

Donna - where in South Illinois are you? did we drive by you on Fri and yesterday and not know it? :wave2:

MImom - more pixiedust: for Matt's knee - sorry they can't figure it out!!

Ashley & Amber ~ :wave2: :wave2: sorry to hear about the cold, and CUTE pic of Ruby!

Pozey - I meant to comment before I left - Disney Vacation Club, huh? As an 11+ year member, I highly recommend it, especially if you guys go out there fairly often. We decided to join back in '95 after our 2nd trip to WDW. We've used it almost every year since, my step-son has used it several times, we've sent folks there on honeymoons, used it in Calif. It has more than paid for itself. Our home resort is (obviously - see my siggy) OKW - but we LOVE it there. We've stayed at POR (back when it was Port Orleans) Wilderness Lodge, Boardwalk, Coronado Spgs, and Poly (cash). I don't like to use the points at non-DVC resorts, but we've had to every now and then. They 'cost' more points per night than a DVC resort. If you have any DVC questions, feel free to ask!

Somebody asked me about Giordano's (2x? Donna?) Oh, Giordano's - man that was GOOD. I have leftovers for lunch today. yum. I think I'll cry when it's all gone.

Linda~ :wave2: hey, girl! still postin' the pics of that cutie of yours, I see!

I'm sure I missed a lot of things, but I'm just going to have to start back from here...

The best rate I've found so far is>>>>Disney's Fort Wilderness Campground=32.80!!! :teeth:
I do really need to go now!!!! Byyeeeeee... :moped:

Well that settles this debate...we can't pass up the 32.80. Tents go in the suitcase and I will check 2xcited's luggage in St Louis BEFORE she checks it. :smokin:

Hey Linda bring DH along but if he can't just bring your military ID...that was my plan. :yay:

Donna thanks for the breakfast...no need to start they day off hungry.

Hi MImom...sounds like we should watch for a sale at the Poly. :woohoo:

Pozey...good old Zingo. :woohoo: I have rode that roller coaster many a time! It's always been rickety...but now I'm rickety myself.

Geez girls...I spent $145 at Target this am...half of it on Sophie  I forgot how expensive pets can be. I did have one of those $4 drinks from Starbucks...those are such a bargain. :rolleyes1 Now I need to put everything away.

:wave2: good morning to all!

Just thought I would post a few pictures I took this weekend:

Here is DS(7)......the daredevil.........except for when it comes to riding roller coasters.... :confused3

If I do have any questions, I will certainly ask.

We REALLY want to buy in to DVC. But right now, DW and I are going back and forth......she (yes, she) really wants to buy a Corvette next summer. We are going to have about $20,000 (inheritance money)to spend on something. Now we are going back and forth.....Corvette? Or DVC? I know which one I would choose..... :rolleyes1 (dvc)

pozey, I think that you should get DVC. Tell your wife how much money you will save on vacations and that extra money could go towards savings for the car. You could go the resale route and get a pretty good deal on points.

I may not be going to WDW. :guilty: Mike is thinking of quitting his job. If he does that will probably mean a pay cut and he may not be able to get time off so soon after starting (at least not paid vacation).

Background: He is a salesman. Several years ago his boss died. Well, the company made Mike "acting boss" until they could find someone else (they did pay him a bit more to do the extra job). A few months ago, they finally hired a "real boss". The company took Mike's extra pay from him, but Mike still had to train the boss. This "boss" was pretty much worthless and now the warehouse is worse off than before (there are several warehouses across the state. They whole company is pretty lousy, so it takes a lot to make it worse). Anyway, the boss just gave his 2 weeks notice. Everyone thinks that they will make Mike manager again, but Mike doesn't want to do it. He was pretty fed up with the company before and now he just doesn't even want to deal with it. He did say that he may stick around IF they pay him more, but he is doubting they will.

So, we shall see what happens.

Oh, and my banana still won't dance. Could this day get any worse. :)

Pozey...your son looks so cute. He really is a daredevil isn't he? Courtney certainly isn't letting that broken arm slow her down at all is she?

Well the first day of school is over :teacher: It went ok, no kids got locked in their lockers, so we're doing good :thumbsup2 I'm kidding, the only kids who end up in the locker are the ones who do it on purpose. Years ago we had one 6th grader who would have his friends close him in his locker so he wouldn't have to go to his LA class?!?!? We were going crazy searching the building for him. Took a couple of days for us to figure it out. The teacher was just marking him absent.

The lunchroom is going to be fun :crowded: The first lunch we literally have about 9 empty seats. There are over 200 kids in there and only myself and one other woman to watch them most days, the principal is supposed to be there but gets called out to deal with stuff a lot. I don't know how they do it at big school. Our district is the smallest in the county by a lot. We only have 350 or so in the school.

I got the call for Matt's rehab today. He will go M-W-F at 3:00. The good part about it, a friend of mine has to take her son at the same times so we can do a carpool. :drive:

Oh, man, Amber....that kinda sucks. I hate companies that treat their LOYAL employees like that. Tell him to hang in there. Tell him to go to his boss and "lay it on the line". I don't mean that he should go in there and make demands or threaten to quit, but to go in there and calmly discuss the situation. Tell him to tell his boss that while he was acting manager, things were better off than they are now. (if he has any kind of "proof" as in numbers or any other concrete evidence have him show that)

Then, tell Mike to tell his boss that he thinks he could do just as good a job or better. However, he would deserve to be paid the same as the guy who just left.

That's what I would do.

Oh, and Yes, I agree.......DVC would definitely be my choice!!

Hey everyone

Amber, I'm so sorry you might not be able to go on your trip. :guilty: I know all about those job woes, I have them all the time. It always works out though, so don't worry!! :grouphug:

Linda, I am the same way at Disney! Hair in pony tail, tank top etc! Well, you will all see in my pictures from my trip (in 17 days!!!) Even if we don't stay at SOG, because we can't get the dining or Magical Express, you could still buy the discount tickets, couldn't you? :teeth:

Donna, (Can I call you Donna, or do you like to be called Donna Leah? I always wonder when I type your name), Thanks for looking up those rates! WOW the Grand Floridian certainly is expensive... :badpc: I hope we can get some major secret discount code that nobody has :woohoo: I'm being obtimisitc like YM..OH, with the characters..I kind of just avoid all of them.. :confused3 With the face ones, I never know what to say. I'm not scared of those, I just dont bother. :confused3 I told Jeremiah I'm really going to try and get a pic with atleast ONE character this trip..maybe Mickey? I don't know yet..I hope I work up the nerve!!!

Pozey, those pictures are adorable! Glad you had a nice weekend..When's Courtney getting her cast off? BTW, I vote for buying DVC! :sunny:

Thank you. I think he's kinda cute myself. :rolleyes1 And he is such a daredevil. I didn't even get the pictures of him jumping curbs, popping wheelies, and other stunts.

And no, the broken arm has not slowed Courtney down one bit. A funny story from yesterday at the amusement park. They have a "little kids" bumper car ride thing. Anyway, it is only for kids under 54 inches. Well, she rides that over and over. When the cars stop, the attendant signals for the kids to get out of the bumper cars and exit. The exit has 2 steps down. So, the first time or two, Courtney comes over and walks down the steps. Then she decides to take one step down, and then JUMP to the ground. Well, apparently that was too boring and easy, so then she jumps BOTH steps. And she does this right in front of someone walking by who makes the comment "I can see why she has a broken arm." :rotfl: Yep. That's MY little girl.

I have to take Courtney back to the doctor on the 9th. They are just going to x-ray it to see if the bones are healing correctly. I think she will still have to wear the cast a couple more weeks.

I have to take Colton back to the doctor on Friday to have his stitches removed.
