Evenin' Ladies. (I need a hat tipping smilie).

Just popping in to say hey!

It has been HOT here the past couple of days. It's been in the mid 90s!!

We went to the State Fair on Saturday and it was more crowded than Disney!! It was HOT and Packed!!

It was HOT again today. But me and the boys went for a bike ride this afternoon, and then went to the Disney store.

Well, I am going to have to get the kids in the bath here in about 20 minutes.

See you ladies tomorrow!!

Donna, sounds like you've been giving the Feb trip some serious thought! Emma loves the Beauty & the Beast show, for me it's good but not a must-do. I adore the Little Mermaid show though, and we missed it last time. I remember seeing the Little Mermaid when it first came out in the theater with my first boyfriend, I think it may have even been our first date. So that has always been one of my favorites. Lyzzie's dad bought it for me on VHS when Lyzzie was born, so I'd have something to watch in the hospital other than soaps (which I never watch) and talk shows (which I will watch if they are on but prefer not to).

I'd love to make reservations but I'm waiting to see what kind of deal may come around, plus I'm waiting to see how the job situation goes. Trying to cut back on unnecessary spending for the time being. Which reminds me, I have some resumes to send out, I'd better get busy!

Michele, I went to the Renaissance Festival here last year on my birthday, it was the first time I'd ever been to one. It was neat but quite expensive, and after a couple hours I wanted to strangle the next person who yelled "Huzzah!" in that fakey accent they use. It was also the first place Emma walked around in public by herself, I got some great pictures of Lyzzie chasing her around on an usused stage. I think some people thought it was some kind of show because they attracted a small crowd!

Well, I'm off to send out the ol' resume. Hopefully I don't need to, but better safe than sorry.

Evening all! Just wanted to pop in here and say HI!! DH and I have been out running the roads today. We just got back with the movie the Lakehouse. I've been dying to see it. :thumbsup2

We went to Bruster's earlier this evening and I had an apple dumpling w/ vanilla icecream. Since I've fallen off the weight watchers wagon I went ahead and ate it. Boy was it good!

I've never even seen "The Voyage of the Little Mermaid" either. I've always wanted to see it but no one in our all adult groups ever wants to go. :sad2: I'm a thrill rider but I'd really love to see this so if you guys go wait for me!! :hyper:

Whoo hoo!! My internet has been down most the day and I just got it working again :cool1:

I have been lost without it!!

I guess everyone is busy today, not many posts.

It has been boring around here. Blake slept until 11 this morning, bless his heart. And has been very sluggish all day. Unfortunately he hasn't been feeling well. I thought we might go out to the Rennaisance Festival. It was a nice day and it ends today. We haven't been since Bree was a baby. But no, he didn't want to go too far.

He is feeling better now, he and the boys have gone to the park to play tennis.

Has anyone made their reservations for Feb.? I really want to!! Lesa, when you are here this week we have to nail this down!!

Hi  YM, Donna, 2x2, Amber, Nicole, Ashley, Pozey, Lyzziesmom, Princess Tiff and everyone else I am missing :wave2:
Michele, sorry to hear Blake's not feeling well. That's a bummer. Glad he was able to rest a bit today. We have the Pennsylvania Ren. faire close to us and for 9 years DH has been promising to take me. Now we're on the verge of moving in 3 weeks and I don't think I'll ever get to go. :guilty: It's a pretty big event too.

My DH was just asking today if anybody has made their ressies for the Feb. trip. He's thinking of going. Do you all think that will be a problem? It's seems like it's all girls. My DH is a big cut up. :rotfl: And I'm not just saying that because he's mine. People love him and his craziness. Sometimes I just look at him and wonder, "Where do you come up with this stuff??" :confused3 :rotfl: But, it's never a dull moment. Oh, and he loves Disney, did I mention that? ;)

We went to Dairy Queen this evening. It was soooo yummy. I think it was only the second time this year I've been this is what I had!! A Pecan Mudslide!
PECANMUDSLIDE.JPG

Nathan had a Monster Cookie M&M Blizzard and DH had a Strawberry Sundae! We sat outside and enjoyed the lovely evening. The only improvement would have been if we were at WDW!!! :thumbsup2
No doubt sista'!! Eating an ice cream and people watching at Disney. :cloud9: What could be better?

Hey Pozey!! You mean like this?

It was NOT hot here today. A tad bit nippy. Feels like fall is in the air. Have a good night.

Well all, DH is waiting for me to watch this movie. Talk to you all tomorrow!!

DH couldn't fix the furnace. Now it is a decision between having someone come out and try to fix it and possibly find we need a new on or just replacing it. Anyone know how much a new furnace installed costs? :guilty:

Madison and her friend decided that they both needed new polly pockets so they decided they were going to earn some money. They robbed my snack bin and made signs Snacks 1 for $1. :lmao: Then they stood with their signs stopping all the neighbors. The little entepeneurs made $8. :rotfl2:

Hi Michele....
duh.gif
While we decide on the trip in Feb. you can remind me to make reservations for June. :rolleyes1

Donna....You hitting pretty close to home telling me Wendy's is closing! :furious: ;)

I hope everyone had a Happy Sunday! TBTIM (too bad tomorrow is monday)

::yes:: I think of the Feb. trip alot, actually! :teeth:

Sounds like the Voyage of the Little Mermaid, is a must-do for Feb.!! :thumbsup2

pozey::Sounds like you had fun today!!! Did you find anything cool at the Disney Store?

April::Linda's hubby is going, too!! We can't discourage a Disney-lovin' guy from going! My DH is not THAT crazy about WDW and he's going to stay home with Nathan.

Lesa:: Please don't shoot the messenger for the Wendy's info. Ours may be connected to the St. Louis franchises...maybe yours won't close!
I don't know how much a new furnace installation is. When we were building a new system ran about 6 thousand, but since you already have the duct work and all, it would be considerably less!
Tell your DD to pass me one of the 1 for $1 snacks!!! popcorn:: Sounds like a deal to me!!

Dh is out looking for our little kitten, Princess. We haven't seen her all day today. We miss her.

Whew, got 12 resumes sent out. If I don't get a nibble from that, I'm going to go hide in a cave because I obviously have no desirable skills.

Donna, yes I'd say Little Mermaid is a must-do! MGM is probably my favorite park lately (I love them all, it's so hard to choose!) and the one we usually go to on our arrival and departure days. I just love the look and feel of that place! Ironically, on my last trip that was the park in which we had the worst day so I didn't enjoy it to the fullest. With my folks along, I felt so rushed. They have the attitude of, okay we've seen this, what's next? Sometimes they want to know what's next before we've even finished with the current thing. I'm more of an enjoy-the-moment girl so we butt heads a lot. I'm sure that won't happen in Feb, because there is enough of us going that we can split into smaller groups and everyone can do what they want to. For me, that would be.... everything!

I'm exhausted, I forgot how tough a job search can be. I'm making myself a daiquiri and watching Desperate Housewives, then starting on Plum #8 and calling it a night!

Hi to everyone else, hope we all had a Wonderful Weekend, and to all a good night!

I love the Little Mermaid! I can't remember the last time I saw Beauty and the Beast.

I don't think ours included at this time. Although at this point with all the frosty's I have consumed, it might be a good thing. It is possible that I am keeping them in business.

At this point I think it may just be wise to go ahead and get a new furnace. This one is on it's last leg. Most of the neighbors have had to replace theirs. This one is not all that efficient anyway.
I hope you find your kitty!

Well, it's Sunday night----again-----goes by too quickly, huh??

Am I the only woman in the world that does not enjoy shoe shopping???? It seems like when I need to find some, I can't and when I don't need any, I stumble upon many. My problem is that my feet swell so easily then I start to get claustrophobic in them. I know----- !!!!!!!!

I was listening to a little Clapton as I was getting ready to leave today. First, I shot the sheriff, then I went knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door. But not to worry, I was not air guitarin'. Just a little booty shakin'. Ooh, now there's a pretty sight. :scared:

I forgot to mention that I rented the movie "Take the Lead" with Antonio Banderas last night. It wasn't bad. I don't think it did very well in the theater, though. I love to watch people ballroom dance.

Have any of you seen "Mad Hot Ballroom"?? It is soooooo good!!!!! It is a documentary that goes into the inner city Bronx, I think it was, and starts a program for grade school kids to teach them how to ballroom dance. It's an independent film that I saw at the theater but it is on DVD now. It really shows not only the kids learning the dances, but their emotions to everyday life. It is such a feel good movie. I highly recommend it if you haven't seen it. This critic gives it :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 two thumbs up!!!!

Donna---oh great--you move into the Jetsonian era and leave me behind in the Stone Age. :teeth:

@:^)

Oh nooo...........your Wendy's too???? What's the deal????
Thanks, now I want DQ. I was never able to get my frosty, ya know. At this stage in the game, though, I may as well hold out for something yummy from MainStreet or Epcot. ;) ;) :teeth:

When I was there last Feb. it was pretty nice. I wore jeans and long sleeve t's, if I recall. A bit on the warm side but not hot at all. It did rain one day which made it pretty cool but humid.

April----oh, your a luv!!!!!! I kept reading about the moleskin but had no clue what people were talking about. Now I know exactly what the package looks like. Oh thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!! BTW, what's the difference between the $50 moleskin and the $5 moleskin?? More prestigious moles?? No, seriously.

No problem if Steven wants to join us. Mike is tagging along with Linda. They can bond and complain how much time you girls spend here. :teeth:

I can't wait to see what you think of the Lakehouse. I saw it at the theater. Let me know when you are finished. We'll discuss.

Ash----I hate when vacation is over. Boooooo.

I ate at Cheesecake Factory for lunch today. I was good and had the Herbed Salmon Salad and no cheesecake. I was eyeing up the Godiva though---my fav!!!!

Lyzziesmom----if Emma is okay with staying with us, I have no problem with watching her while you seek out your thrills on the rides.
I say I'll maybe do them, but it really does depend on the day. I may or may not "chicken" out. :confused3
That's a good idea that Donna had---us going to Beauty & the Beast while you guys do ToT and RnR.
I saw the Voyage of the Little Mermaid for the first time last Feb. Very cute!! I am sure to see it again this time and in Feb.
Good luck with your resumes. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Michele----I think we were waiting to see if any specials start. But, I think it would be wise to start making them soon, especially if we are going to try to stay all in one place.
I have never been to a Ren. Fair----I know they have them here, though.

Hi Pozey----nice of you to stop by on a Sunday eve.

Lesa---I have no clue about a furnace. It's a scary thought that I own a home!!
Sounds like you are raising a little business minded girl!! Cha-ching.

We need to start a list of cliqueless birthdays.
Next weekend is Donna's, Lyzziesmom's and Ashley's, right?? Anyone else??

I forgot to mention that I went into one of my favorite stores today---Anthropologie and they had an Owl tea set. I busted a gut when I saw it. Too bad I didn't have my camera!!! They would have probably kicked me out.

Are hoot owls the theme for the year?? First the t-shirt at Target, now the tea set at Anthropologie.

HOOT.

Linzy, (I'm all nosey) what made you move to Texas? I guess because we're moving to S.C. in about 3 weeks I'm interested in what made/makes people relocate? :scratchin

I was actually born in Lubbock, Texas then lived in Dallas for a couple of years. When I was in kindergarten my dad got a new job in Minnesota so we packed up and moved north. I basically grew up there. All my childhood memories are from there and lived in the same town from the time we moved there til I went off to college...in Lubbock, Texas at Texas Tech to be a theatre major. Met Chris (DH) and then when my sister graduated high school and decided to go to Tech as well my parents decided to move back to Dallas. Then Chris and I got engaged, married and now live in the Dallas area. But, my sister just moved back to Minnesota. I really miss it a lot. The people and the culture there are just amazing and its an incredible place to live. Aside from the ice.

Hi Lin----

Where in Minnesota did you grow up??

I'm not sure if you read, but I went to the Aveda Institute for my esthetics license about 9 1/2 yrs. ago (wow, time flies). I lived in Hopkins but had friends who were in Edina and I got to know Minnentonka (??sp) well, too, since it was close to Hopkins. I remember St. Louis Park, Uptown, Bloomington, of course and the Downtown/Nicolette Park area. I do miss it. I would love to go back for a visit----the opportunity just has not arisen. I tend to head south for my vacations.

I miss Bruegger's Bagels too---forgot about that. I mentioned Carabou the other day.

Grew up in Lakeville. Its about 20 minutes south of Minneapolis pretty close to Bloomington, only Apple Valley is between them.

I loved the turkey bagle at Brueggers...nowhere else has one quite like it. But Caribou is my very, very favorite. Everytime I go I get a bag of coffee to bring home!

Hi everyone :artist:

Well, I got NOTHING done today. We stayed in, took naps, thats about it! We went to Target and Wal-Mart tonight and BOTH the machines that develop the film were down!!! I have 4 rolls from our trip, plus the 300 something digital photos. But that doesn't compare to how many pictures you guys take!!!

Voyage of the Little Mermaid is my favorite at MGM!! We must do it on our Feb trip. It's been my favorite since I was little, I used to play it constantly and drive my parents crazy. :teeth:

Donna, I hope you find your kitty. :guilty: Keep us updated about it!!

Lyzziesmom, Good luck regarding getting responses on your resume! Jeremiah needs some too, he has been applying to lots of places. But your right, hopefully you wont even have to switch jobs.

Ok ladies, I have been to every Wal-mart, Borders, and Target around and I CANNOT FIND the #1 in the plum series books!!! I find other ones, but not #1! I guess I'll have to order it online.

Hi Ash---

Too bad you can't find #1. Sometimes the local markets have a book section. Did you look there??
I know, it is so frustrating when you find the ones out of sequence that you need. I just lent my #1 out. I need to remind her that I want it back. It's a girl I work with who is quite forgetful.

Lin----I don't remember what I used to get at Bruegger's. All I know is that I loved it. I loved the different spreads they had that could be put on the sandwiches. I must stop talking about it---I'm getting hungry. :teeth:

One of my friends that I made in school in Minneapolis had in-laws who lived in Red Wing. They also had a "cabin"--which was more like a huge house down the road overlooking the river. On some weekends, a group of us would make the drive (about an hour away). It was alot of fun---there was a hot tub and they had a boat and her DH used to build bonfires and we just hung out. I remember waking up really early one Sunday morning and sitting outside on the screened in porch and studied for my boards while everyone else slept in. It was very peaceful. Oh, the memories. I do miss it. (have I said that?? :teeth: )

Sorry girlies,

I am getting sleepy and have to work early tomorrow. I cannot stay up any longer.

Good night.

Hi, everyone!!!
Ashley::I found most of my Steph Plum books at b.Dalton. I think most of the malls have them? We haven't found Princess yet. Talked to my sister this evenign to see of she had an extra cat, thinking Princess might have found her way to her house. I'm afraid some of the guys that were here last night had trucks and she might have hitched a ride. :sad2: We were very attached to her and I hope we find her.

2x2s:: I don't think I have totally left the Stoneage. I keep jumping back and forth! :badpc:
The Feb. weather sounds nice. I am going to be prepared for it to be a bit cool.

Hi, Linzybrooke!! :wave2:

Donna....I hope your kitty finds her way home! pixiedust:

Good night , 2x2s!!!

Did I mention Nicole comes home tomorrow!!!
Here are her plans::

10/2-Monday
