Need some info on the Tree House Villa's.I know they have redone them in the last few years but if someone has stayed in them since then can you let me know what you think of them and also do you have to use a golf cart to go to the pool, etc? I know they have a boat dock for downtwn Disney, but would love to know more about them. Thanks

We stayed in one 2 years ago.

The villas are beautiful. The master bathroom is spectacular. The large deck outside is a wonderful space and there is a charcoal grill at the bottom of the steps for each villa which is very nice. The 3 bedrooms are pretty small. The bunk beds in the one bedroom are also small, average sized adults would not be able to sleep in them. The kitchen is very nice, the dining room table is large. The living area is small with a seating arrangement that is not set up for you to sit and have conversation. And if you need to use the sleeper sofa, it takes up the entire living area. It's a 3 bedroom but has almost the same sq footage as the 2 bedroom villas so you give up living space and a large master bedroom to have that 3rd bedroom.

They are remote. If you want to feel like you are in your own little world, away from it all, this may be the place for you.

A golf cart is not necessary to walk to SSR. If you are close to Grandstand, the walk is probably 5 minutes from that section, maybe 10 minutes to walk over to Springs, the main section of SSR. If you are like us and are on the other end near the entrance to the THV, you will have a 15-20 minute walk.

There is an internal bus system that will take you from THV to SSR and then from there you would change to a park bus. We tried it once and it was a real time sucker. But it is there.

The pool at THV is like a backyard pool, at least like my backyard pool. For a real vacation/hotel pool, you have to trek over to SSR to the Springs or Paddock section. Since we use the pool a lot, this was a real deal breaker for us.

Condensed version: If you have a car and like getting away from it all, these are nice accommodations. If you don't have a car, I'd give it a great deal of thought before staying here. If you don't like feeling isolated, take a pass on staying here.

I have owned DVC for a long time and we have stayed in all of the villas in various sizes from Grand Villas down to studios. For my family, the THV have been our least favorite stay. We discovered that we didn't like being that far removed from the amenities we enjoy while on vacation.

Pakey is spot on with info. I really can't add much except to tell you about our experience. We stayed there two years ago right after I lost my mother. My family was coming from a really really bad period and my wonderful husband booked our family of 4 into a treehouse. It was just what we needed at the time. Very quiet, peaceful and relaxing. We did have a rental car and I don't think I would stay there without one. Yes as Pakey said the pool at the treehouses is nothing special so you will need to go to SSR which has great pools. The bedrooms are small. We have been DVC members since 1991 and this was our first stay in a treehouse. It was nice that both our kids (adults) had their own bedroom, but my son was in the bunkbed room and it was ok for him on this vacation, but really I would like him to have a queen for himself too. As I said it was perfect for us at the time because my family needed quiet, but I don't know how much we will stay there in the future. As anything if life, you really need to try something for yourself to see if you like it. Everyone is different.

Enjoy The Magic!!

The THV are now a part of the SSR DVC resort. Golf carts are not permitted there for guests.

They have no king sized bed. Only two queen beds, one set of bunks, a queen sleeper sofa and twin sized sleeper chair. Only two bathrooms. One in the master bedroom and one for the rest of the guests to share.
