My husbands boss found out we have never seen the "O" show in LV, so he is flying our family there for a weekend in March ! He is putting us up at Treasure Island, and we have tickets to the Sat 10:30 show balcony with full view!

So what can we expect ?

Did you enjoy it ?

Any parts I need to prepare a 13yo for ?

Did people dress up ?

PS: lucky I know;)

Very nice, Judy, cool!!!!!

I have seen it twice, it is unbelievable. After seeing it the first time (on a solo trip there for a convention), I got broker tickets (double face) for Mystere the other Cirque show there in Vegas. It too was wonderful. Next opportunity, I took in La Nouba at WDW, then a second time, and when Marie and I went to LV two years ago, did -O- again. I love Cirque and think -O- the best, due to the water staging. I do think the second level for any Cirque show (and have seen 3) is better viewing than the first level, as much of the things that happen are up in the air, and the first level has to look up a lot more than the second level. Also, many things occur on the walkway between the two levels, you are just looking down onto it, lower has to turn around and look back. Just my personal pref.

The music is captivating, bought the CD on the way out. It is so unique. Dress is dress casual I would say, most anything is acceptable, and classy lady you are, you and Dave will be a knockout couple. And Kenz will love it too, a great evening for you all. Enjoy, and lucky you guys are.

 Nice to see you. :wave2:

Loved it!!
It is my favorite (I've seen 4 different ones).......I really liked the water effects.

I've seen it..and even though we were in the last row, it was wonderful. I also love the music. I've seen most of the Cirque du Soleil shows, and although Mystere is still my favorite, this one is excellent. I would love to see it again. And Treasure Island is a great hotel too. Theres a restaurant called Dive in the Fashion Show mall next to the hotel. Very good, and nice theme too. For the show, you can dress up if you want, but it can be casual also. I probably wouldn't wear shorts there though. have a great time!

Dive had been closed for years, they went out of business in 2000 or 2001. I hope you enjoy the show, the Bellagio is truly awesome! Just make sure you have your tickets BEFORE entering the Bellagio (you can get them at TI). Your DD won't be allowed into the Bellagio without them, since they have a rule that anyone under the age of 18 isn't allowed in without either being a guest or having tickets to a show. You most likely will be stopped by a security guard and asked to show your tickets. We just returned from a stay at Bellagio last week, and EVERY person with children were stopped by security and questioned. I saw MANY people being turned away and asked to leave, if they had children and weren't guests. Also, I'd say that business casual attire is appropriate. It seems that the Bellagio is more dressy than the other hotels on the strip. Have a GREAT time!!

While I didn't see it while in Vegas last month, two of my friends (who travelled with us) did. They were really disappointed with it. They felt that Zoomanity (seen the previous evening) was much better. The only details they gave about O was that it was a bit confusing and they each fell asleep at one point of time during the show. I don't know if I should listen to their opinion or not, but they've seen several Cirque shows...so, who knows? :)

Steph,
If they saw the late showing, it isn't a surprise they fell asleep. That is 1:30 a.m. to us EST folk! I don't care what kind of party animal you are, once you sit down, it gets a bit sleepy. (Unless you've been in LV for a few days and do the sleep during the day, play at night thing.) I really liked O, but much of that liking was done upon reflection. I was just too tired to really enjoy it.

Keep the Faith!
Tracy

I remember seeing a show called "O" but I think it was at a different hotel. Maybe I'm thinking of something else

Thanks all ! (Hi Dan !). We have never seen a circ show, so it will be neat. Sounds like Balcony is the place to be also.

Funny thing is I have taken my DD when she was 12 into the Bellagio a couple times and not been stopped ! We mainly went to see the conservatory.

I just reread the posts in this thread, and I just noticed that "O" takes place in water!! That sounds really interested and exciting! I'd love to experience it sometime. How much does it cost?

we saw in it november of '01 while on our honeymoon.

i liked it a lot , but not as much as Qidam or La Nouba.

at that time it was about $100 a person.

It is really more over water, not in, though there is splashing and landing in water. The central focus, however, is not on what is happening beneath the water.

We stayed at the Bellagio last September and saw the 10:30 showing of "O" - My dh fell asleep in the middle. Neither of us liked this one as much as Mystere at Treasure Island. Mystere kept our attention with all the different acts and it was funny. "O" reminded me of a ballet and was a little slower. IMO

and don't get to the theater much. Is there any suggestions for perhaps discounted tickets?

We are staying at the Mirage for this conference. Anyone stayed there and can tell me about that?

Any answers will be appreciated......thanks :D

There are no discounted tickets for O, as they usually sell out each and every performance. The later shows 10:30 are easier to get tickets for than the earlier show, but you usually need to order tickets well in advance to secure seats. The tickets range from about $95 for obstructed view seats to $150 for front orchestra. I've stayed at the Mirage twice and it truly is a nice hotel, you'll enjoy your stay there!

Judy, how cool!!!

Don and I saw "O" on our honeymoon, thanks to the generosity of my dear sister-in-law. It is FABULOUS!!!! Be prepared to have an awesome time!

People were dressed all sorts of ways. Most were at least a "little" dressed up, nothing fancy, just what you would wear to a nice restaurant. I did see jeans in the room, however.

We also stayed at TI (where else would a pirate girl stay, aye, matey??) for our honeymoon. I LOVE that hotel! I want to go back, LOL!!!

Have a wonderful time and tell me what you thought about it! :) :) :)

I saw "O" a couple of years ago. Since you are going to the late show, make sure you nap in the afternoon and don't have a big meal before you go in!!!
If I remember they have snacks such as popcorn, etc. you can take into the theatre with you.
I spent half the show trying to stay awake! This isn't to say the show isn't fabulous - it is.......but it's really late (and as other posters said, it is a bit slower and sometimes dark and relaxing.....kind of like those CD's with the water running :teeth:
I have also seen Mystere - and liked it better. Since you are at TI - maybe you can see both!
Have a great time!

We saw Mystre at TI last month...That was incredible. Have not seen "O" yet...I hear its also its of the same outstanding quality but done in water. Circ shows do performances that are stunning, I was truely breathless and amazed watching :)
