Who has Pal Mickey???

[OUR 1ST DISNEY TRIP]

Just trying to get some opinions. I am wondering how many of you disney goers have Pal Mickey and is he worth the money?

We have Pal Mickey. We liked it for the first day or two and then got tired of lugging him around. He is really cute though. I think I would like it more if I had a stroller age kid. He would be great company on a stroller ride and for entertainment for the little ones.

Ok, I'm a Pal Mickey lover. My family were not so thrilled when I purchased him during our March trip because they didn't think he'd be worth it. However, they did enjoy listening to what he had to say in the parks. What I've heard is that if you are buying it for your kids, they get bored with carrying it after a short time and you end up carrying it. I don't have young kids (DH, DD20 & DD17) and wanted to carry it anyway. He went everywhere with us. I wore him on his belt clip on my fanny pack. It worked out well for me. I would show him to kids on the buses and let them play with him. He helped pass the time. I have definitely gotten my $65 + tax out of him already and he has only been to the world with me once. He'll be going back for future trips.

We have one thread that I have posted pictures and trip reports of the Pal Mickey that has been visiting us here in Lancaster, Pa.
My friend Steffy and I took Pal Mickey's when we went last September. I really do love him but he does get a little heavy. I like it better this way because I take him to work and the Seniors and Preschoolers just love him.

I love our Pal Mickey but I bought him a few years ago, not sure I'd spend the $ again for him.

Even though I have 2 children, I bought him for me and I really enjoyed him.

I thought I would get tired of carrying him but I didn't. I thought I'd look silly carrying him but I didn't care. He was alot of fun.

My only suggestion would be to try and carry him across your chest from a lanyard - not around your neck. He is much easier to carry this way - you won't notice the extra weight and your hands are free. He is easily accessible and you can bring him to the front of your body on a ride or send him to the back for pictures, whatever.

I have the older PM that did not come with a lanyard so I bought a water bottle strap for $3.25 at Epcot and "hung" Mickey (around his neck) with the "noose" at the end of the strap and cinched it real tight with the adjustable lock/clip. It worked great!

I show my relatives our pictures - forget the kids, there is me and my PM with so and so ... LOL!

How big is Pal Mickey?

I ordered one off of ebay. He is a little smaller than I expected (actually, that is good - because carrying around something bigger would be a hassle).

I'm at work and don't have him with me, but I am guessing (from memory and looking at a ruler) that he's about 9 or 10 inches tall. Maybe a little less.

love him. I bouhgt him when the first version was available and I loved him so much that I bought the new 50th celebration pal mickey as well. Sure I know most of the stuff he has to say...but I still never go to Disney without him. He's so much fun.

I like my Pal Mickey and was thrilled when I got him. He didn't operate as effectively as I hoped since I thought he would give me more tips about showtimes & stuff than he did. My Pal did have some cute stuff to say but it was often hard to hear him when we were walking through the parks. I used the plastic tie he came with to wrap him onto my backpack so I could feel him vibrate. I brought him around with us for 2 days but by Day 3 he wasn't saying much new and the kids got bored so I left him in our room. I will try him again on our next trip to see if WDW enhances their interactive communication system with him since its what WDW tells him to say that makes or breaks the idea.

i have a pal mickey he is so cute. .but sometimes it gets kind of hard to carry him around but hes worth it i think!!!

I think that pal mickey is a great use of money. He is very cute and we even still play with him at home, each time that you go to Disney i am pretty sure that you can bring him back. He has a lot of useful tips, such as where the characters are in the parks, where you are, what time parades are at. My dad usually brings a backpack around with him and if no one is holding pal mickey he just goes in the backpack until we would like to use him again. Since he was usually always with us we decided to take a picture of him at a lot of places that we were at, there's a cute one of him at Mama Melroses. I think that he is a great use of money.

I have a Pal Mickey, but we bought it at a warehouse store in Orlando called mousesurplus.com. The purchasing price was $15.00. It is the latest Pal Mickey, and the only difference was that it did not come with the lanyard or clip (which we bought at Wal-mart for a total of $10.00)

We bought the 50th anniversary pal mickey, money well spent in my opinion. Sometimes he did get heavy carrying him around but no one says you have to take him with you every time you leave your hotel. We found we usually took PM with us in the morning and afternoon then he usually stayed at our hotel for the evening when the kids were getting tired. All in all great idea for a toy. I even find myself playing the little games from time to time here at home. I love our Pal Mickey.

We bought Pal Mickey towards the end of our trip after hearing relentless begging from a 4yr old. However, we did not realize you had to switch him on (located in the back I think) until after we got home. He just kept repeating the same jokes and facts over and over again. (DUH on our part) We're going back in Dec. and he's coming with extra batteries this time.

He's cute, and about the size of a typical stuff animal, although he's not typical. He's a little heavier and comes with a strap to wear around your neck and a belt clip. Hope this helps just remember to turn him on.

My 9 and 7 year old LOVED pal Mickey. The four year old didn't want to carry him.

My 9 year old loved carrying him so much, that one day, we stepped into Epcot, and Pal Mickey started hiccupping. We had extra batteries at the hotel, but not with us, and I was not willing to pay big bucks to buy batteries. My son still carried him around (rather than me shoving him in a backpack) proudly. All day.

I didn't have to carry him the entire trip.
