Since watching hurricane frances on tv for the last 2 weeks. And now Ivan is looking scary to me
I decided to cancel my halloween trip to disney.. till late Nov / early Dec. I am even looking into mexico / cuba.

Has anyone else changed their plans?

Nope. We are leaving on the 29th for a cruise on Oct 2nd and then a week at WDW. We are determined to go even if we end up on a mystery cruise. WDW should be nice too.

Hurricane season will be over soon I hope!

Not cancelling here either. We leave on the 6th and Ivan should be long gone by then.

Not cancelling here either.... we leave on the 8th for 2 weeks!

Been planning this trip for too long to cancel now!!

Nope not cancelling either and we leave on the 15th of SEPT.

As long as our flight can land we are going. If it gets cancelled we will just drive. I have been waiting to long. Also I feel that the Florida people need our money to help rebuild after all they have been through.

Feel exactly the way that you do Hockeychic! They need our money and I need the break!

Agreed! Not cancelling here either-saved and planned too long not to at least wait it out and give it a try.

Well, mickilee I guess it's just us.

We were supposed to go for our first trip end of this month and have rescheduled to the same week as you

See you there:wave2:

I don't know what to do. :( As you can see by our counter, we leave in 2 days. We phoned our TA today to try and transfer/refund our tickets, but we were told we cannot. Unless our flight doesn't fly, we will get no refund or transfer. Similarly, we booked our hotel through priceline and they have informed me we will not get a refund. Either we lose out on close to $1000, or we risk it and go. We're staying at a little offsite hotel so I have no idea how it would be if we were confined to our hotel with no power, water, gas, etc..... I'm leaning towards just swallowing our $1000 and not go. We'll make a final decision right before our flight. I'm just sick.........but I feel guilty for feeling this way since Floridians have it WAAAY worse than us. What would you do? :(

We are seriously considering cancelling. We leave on the 18th of this month and are driving down. Although the storm will have passed by then, I am more concerned with the amount of damage that will be left afterwards.
We are staying at the Pop but do venture "outside" of Disney and think it will be hard to enjoy my vacation if the people on the outside are suffering and everything is in chaos. I can't just go on enjoying my vacation.
We are going there to celebrate my 40th birthday and it would be disappointing. If we don't go, we probably won't go again until next year or maybe even the year after.

At this point in time, Cuba doesn't look like it will be an option for you ~ Ivan is heading right for Havana, Varadero and Jibacoa. Mexico looks like it may be spared from storms for the time being but we are only half way thru the season. I would plan to go to Florida and give the people who work in restaurants, hotels and attractions what they need ~ tourists!

Enjoy yourselves and do not feel guilty ~ they want us to come and spend our money! :Pinkbounc
