If you have a moon roof or sun roof in your car have you had trouble with it. We are looking at a new car an 09 Taurus and the only ones they have left are those with a moon roof but I really wonder if they leak or have aproblem in the winter with snow. I really do not want it but the new Tarus(10) are so loaded up that they are way out of my price range.

I love love love my sun/moon roof!!

I've had one in almost every car I've owned, and I've never had a problem :sad2:

I would suggest it - you will like it!!!! :thumbsup2

I have a sun roof in my car and I have never had any problems with it leaking or anything.

We love our sun/moon roof too
Also, we have a 1968 VW bug that has a moon roof, and it has never leaked or had any problems, that's a really good moon roof. 41 years is a loooooong time!
As the pp said, you'll like it :cool1:

I decided against a moonroof for a few reasons. Firstly, I live in an area of New England where I see more snow and rain than sun. There's probably 30 days a year where I'd actually use the moonroof. Secondly, while it might not be too common to have leaks, when it snows 100 inches a year or more, I don't want to have to deal with the ice on that window or the chance of snow piling on top of it. While it might not leak now, in 7 years it might.

All in all, I didn't think it was worth the money because of the weather I live in. If I lived south, I'd definitely have one.

Well I have a 2002 Ford F150 so it's probably the same type of foor that you're looking at. We did have a problem with the motor about two weeks after we got the truck back in 2002. It got stuck open, took it to the dealer and they closed it and ordered the new motor. Haven't had any problems since then. We love the moon roof and have had no problems with any types of leaks and we live in Maine so we get plenty of snow and plenty of rain. We don't open it that much in the winter but we will pull the screen back to let in the light in the winter. Our next car will have a moon roof also.

We've had a moonroof in every vehicle we've purchased since 2000 ... love 'em because they let in more light even when closed and I like to vent mine while I'm at work to get some air into the car during warmer weather.

We've never had any issues with leaking or malfunctions of any kind - not to say it can't happen, but it hasn't been a problem for us. And if you have a garage to park in overnight I'd think some of the snow and ice issues you may be concerned about would be mitigated somewhat.

Granted, I live in state that only sees about 12-24 inches of snow in a normal year and most of the time it's less than that, but we get a lot of sleet and freezing rain and the moonroof has never been a problem. Heck, I don't even think about it being a problem.

We live in New England and have moon and sunroofs since 2000. I wouldn't have a car without one. I love having the extra light.

I also live in New England (Vermont) and have a car with a sun/moon roof. I will never own another car without one. We have never had a problem with it leaking and love the extra light. There is a shade that slides over to close it, which helps keep the car cooler in the summer months. As far as snow is concerned, I brush the top of my car off before I go anywhere. I can't stand it when people drive on the interstate and huge chunks of snow are flying off the roof of their cars - but that's a subject for another thread.

My car is a Toyota Sienna. I have also had factory-installed sunroofs in a Plymouth Sundance and Honda Civic. We have never had trouble with any of them.

Get the sun/moon roof. You won't regret.

We have had them on all of our cars since 1999. We have never had a problem with any of our cars with one. I love having the light come in even when it is closed. When the glass part is closed I always leave the shade open to let a little more brightness in. I almost got a new car without one but I realize it felt more "enclosed" without it and decided I couldn't live without it.

I have a sun roof on my 2001 Dodge Neon and I spent 1400 dollars getting it fixed.:confused3:mad:
I do enjoy it...but I don't like spending that kind of money getting it fixed.

The only car I had a problem with the sunroof in was a 2001 Mercury that had sooooo many problems I would have been surprised if there WASN'T a problem with the sunroof. Otherwise I've had several cars with moon/sunroof and have LOVED them. My Toyota Camry, I miss it so much!

I have a G6 with a moon roof. It can be noisy at times (even when it's closed). However, I love having it! I have never had any problems with leaking, and I live in Buffalo!

I have a sunroof in my Saturn. It worked great for 2-1/2 years and then it got stuck open. I took it in and they got it closed. They said it needed a new motor and it would be about $1,000. I didn't have money to fix it; so now it is a new window to the stars and provides extra sunlight, but doesn't open. :sad2:

I have a Buick-Enclave and have two Moonroofs. NEVER had a problem and have also had them in my last 6 cars or so without a hitch. I also love the extra light it allows..

I have a sunroof in my 2008 Pontiac G6 and had one in my '02 Grand Am and never had a single problem with either. My mom has had sunroofs in her last 3 Grand Prixs and hasn't had a problem with hers, and my dad has had sunroofs in his last 2 HHRs and his have been fine as well. We live in an area that gets PLENTY of rain and snow, and they've never produced any leaks.

I have had moonroofs in my last two cars. Never had a problem with either of them. I rarely ever use them, but no problems with them.
