Everytime I think of the ONE thing I would most like to have in a new house, a jetted bathtub in a master bath is the first thing that pops in my mind. (Even though I know its not really a worthy #1, like a 2 car garage is ;))

But I'm wondering if I had it, how much would I actually use it.
Like the outdoor swing I HAD to have that I've used twice in 2 summers. :scared:

So if you have one do you use it? How much?

We have one and when we first moved in, I used a few times but very rarely after that. I do use the tub now and again, but I just don't bother to turn on the jets. I don't even know if they work anymore.

I want one sooooo badly and it kills me to read in the thread about unused areas of your home, that so many people who have them, don't use them. Before we got a pool people told me we'd end up never using it, but we use it all the time. Maybe I'm just a water baby!

I had to have one in our home, had to have it! I love it but I use it about 1x a month. Really, not so much.

Dh cannot stand hot water, he says it hurts the boys. I like my water near scalding as it cools when you spend some time in there. So we dont use it much and I dont often take the hour plus for a relaxing bath with a book.

We have been living in our house for less than a year. We have one and probably use it two or three times a week. I like relaxing in it with the jets going and a nice glass of wine. By the way ours has a heater so the water never gets cold!

I have a jetted tub and an outdoor swing, and don't really use either. For one thing, I hate to clean the jetted tub. My sister always uses it when she visits and leaves a lovely ring from all the bubbles she likes to put in. We are on water restrictions right now and it takes a lot of water to fill up to the jet level.
Don't know why I never use the swing. I guess I just don't get much down time. Another reason I don't use the tub. My 4 kids would never give me time to actually take a bath. Showers are just much quicker.

I use mine quite a bit 3 to 4 x a week. In the winter sometimes it is the only thing that can get the chill out. And I have had it almost 14 years.

When we built our 2nd home, I INSISTED on a corner jacuzzi.
I used it 2x. Once the kids went swimming in it, and once my husband and I took a bath - LOL. I hated cleaning it !! It also collected a lot of hair and dust.

We have a 2-person corner jacuzzi tub in our master bath & use it once a week. In our old house we had an outdoor hot tub that rarely got used at all.

In the winter I use mine almost every day. In the summer I use mine maybe once a month. In the winter it is about the only thing that warms me up. In the summer it is too hot but sometimes it is nice to have a good book and a long bath.

I missed that thread. I'll have to look for it.

So maybe I should set my sites on a really nice shower instead? I KNOW that would get used! :teeth:

Great to see all the posts!

I've never used the one in our current house. I used the ones in our old house a few times. I could definately do w/out it.

I was so excited when we bought our house and it had a jetted tub. I think I've used it maybe 3 times in the 4 years we've lived here. :lmao: It takes so long to fill up. I'm too impatient to take a bath, I guess.

I almost never use it but my ds uses it all the time after he plays sports.

DW and I use ours together about 30 times a year, often on a Saturday night while watching Saturday Night Live. I think she's used it a few times by herself over the last 10 years but not very often.

I have one because I think its one of those things you have to have these days for resale. I hardly use it. I don't "sit" well, without something else to do and when I am in the tub I think about everything else I could be doing and I feel like I am wasting time.

We have one, not by choice. When we renovated our bathroom, the garden tub we ordered kept coming in cracked from Kohler. After the third cracked tub, the wonderful manager at our Home Depot said, "Give them any tub in the store!" Well, the only tub that would fit was a jetted tub. DH uses it on ocassion to deal with his aging aching muscles (LOL), but I never use it.
The biggest problem with it though is that water will sit in the pipes and if you don't run the jets regularly, you can end up with mold/mildew in there. Makes cleaning the thing that much more difficult.

Oh yuck!

This thing is moving further and further down on my list! lol

I just got one when we remodeled our bathroom and I use it about 5 nights a week. It's very relaxing. My kids also love it because they get bubbles without the bubble bath. If you like baths, then you'd love it. If you're more of a shower person, then it may be a waste.

I have one - and am glad I do. I don't use it all that much -- more in the winter than summer. DD will only take a bath in this tub - even though she does not use the jets. The only problem with our tub (Jacuzzi) is that ours is way toooooooo deep -- you run out of hot water before it fills up past the highest jets. We do have the heater so the water will stay the same temp once in there.

To clean, I fill the tub and put a little bit of clorox through the pipes. I use qtips and my DH's toothbrush to clean around the jets......................................

just kidding about DH's toothbrush -- - or am I. (insert sinister laugh).
