Who feels like a threadkiller - Take 4!

How did all of your food turn out Ann?

I love bruschetta:thumbsup2 I wouldn't turn down any of the other things you made either. It all sounds yummy.

So, after days of rain, we are back to the snow:sad2:

What a crazy winter we are having. At least I got to look at grass for a day or so;)

SJO!...Ann!:teeth:
All your food plans sound Soooooo GooooD!:goodvibes...I love strawberries!

I was just checking out Colleens photos:3dglasses...The Dream looks so fresh and new... ::yes::
The friend of mine , that just had her birthday just got done with a cruise on the Wonder and she was telling me that it is looking like it needs a refurb..Carpets looking worn, and the wooden rails all pitted.....So Im glad we are going on the brand new Dream...
Not to mention the "DUCK"...Is anyone going to go on it?..I know Ill be trying it at least once.:thumbsup2

Robin,
We have a break from the snow! Its going up to the upper 40s today..I know that doesn't sound all that warm ..but its great to me! All the rain we have gotten the last couple of days melted a lot of our snow..but we still have quite a bit more to get rid of...Now we have mud and snow...FUN!
BUT...We have the red winged black birds back...A SIGN OF SPRING!:flower3:

Looks like our thread is down to just the three of us lately....:surfweb:
Hope all is well with our missing TKers pixiedust:

TTFNpaw:

Robin's are usually the sign of spring around here and I have not seen any yet. :confused3

This is the tree in my front yard this morning. Poor thing has a heavy load to bear. It's branches are usually up over the roof of the house.

Yesterday that grass was all visible...... here yesterday, gone today:headache:

Hi Everyone!

The food was AMAZING! The bruschetta is an old stand-by (and a favorite). The French Onion Soup was absolutely delicious! I made a whole pot and everyone had more than one bowl! Fortunately, I have a ton of bowls, so I could put the croutons in and melt the cheese...

The tartlets - wow - they were incredible! The orange cream cheese and strawberries was an amazing flavor combination and the crust turned out beautifully....probably the best I've ever made. It flaked into a zillion pieces at first bite and was really tasty. I'll be making that one again.

Everyone is full and the girls won in cards - which hasn't happened in a while! So....a good night over all!

I hope ya'll are staying warm. It's chilly here, too. But in the grand scheme of things, we're pretty lucky. Those in Japan are having a very difficult time.

Robin - I don't know if I told you, but Charlene's dad died last night. She's waiting for her son to return from his military duty station (he's in Hawaii) and will have the funeral on Tuesday if all goes well. The other day, I gave her your wishes and she asked that I tell you hello.

Well, I've got to get up at 4:45 to get my folks to the airport - they're going to spend 3 weeks in Vegas and Arizona....such fun!

Ya'll take care!

I kind of figured out about Charlene's dad by reading through the lines on Facebook. Thanks for telling me though Ann. Now they can all have some peace. I'm sure it was difficult for all of them.

You have probably been up and are back having a nap by now, since you were up and out so early this morning.

So I will just leave quietly now ........

Welcome Horizons16!
Please stay and chat, No special group .....:scratchin well in our own ways we are all special ...:upsidedow ...BUT....we always have room for more!
Tell us a little about yourself...:3dglasses
I'm Betsy and I have been on the boards since March 2001,
So I guess its my :cheer2:10 year anniversary!:cheer2:...
WOW...Thats a long time to chat...:chat:...My husband would not be surprised at all...LOL

I am working today, but tomorrow I am excited to say I have the day off and have been invited to go on a limo/wine tasting day. :cool1:
My friends husband is surprising her with it for her 50th...He has arranged for the limo to pick her and a few of her friends up and take us around The Lake Cayuga wine trail....for the day 10 AM, until after 5PM...
...I have never been in a limo, except for Mikes dads funeral, which I wasn't really enjoying much, considering the circumstances.Tomorrow should be a lot more fun!
Then the normal Sunday with my DGGs, a visit to my Mom, and taking them all to McDonalds for lunch( my moms favorite).
I also have Monday off, but Im not sure what Im doing...We will just have to see what exciting things pop up...:rolleyes1...I'm thinking it will be cleaning, and laundry:laundy:, and ...well you all have the idea!

We have sunshine here today, and it is suppose to be in the upper 40s tomorrow, But its also suppose to rain later in the day...Oh well I dont have to do the driving so.....;)..Im ok with it!

Well off to do some surfing:surfweb:

TTFNpaw:

My mother always said I was special... :dance3:

I have been a DIS'er for awhile but lost the light for a few years and played around some other boards... I couldn't take the constant complaints about how terrible Disney has become in the past X years. So I came back here since you know it is the friendliest community...

I have been in a limo a couple of time but the driver didn't let me stick my head out the top like the movies... something about insurance... I don't know what he meant I have insurance. :confused3

Lets see here, I am an English teacher and good golly it is snowing outside again! :crazy2: It was just 60 yesterday. Guh...

What else? I like to take pictures but don't really like the word photography... Makes me feel like I am trying to be snooty. Uhmm red wine is quite possibly a necessary evil when reading student papers and Mexican food is my favorite.

I am also slightly random which brings me back to my mom telling me I am special... :dance3:

Hello Stephen......... do you want us to call you that or do you prefer to be called by your screen name?

Most of us are generally quite informal here. Either called by their first name or a shortened form of their user name.

My user name might be Cruisin but around here folks just call me Robin

I see you have a cat (and a wife :lmao: ). I have 2 cats also, Mischief and Duster :thumbsup2

Not snowing here today. It did snow a bit last night but today it is nice and sunny and warm. It is 36 degrees.

I live in Canada, so since you are an English teacher you will have to forgive my "u"'s in words that you won't normally see them.. I quite often leave them out when I post on the general DISboard threads but here, amongst friends I don't feel the need.

I like the u :)

I also like to say process with a long o instead of prawcess... we kind of butcher the language around these parts.

Stephen Steve Horizons whatever is fine... I really don't mind. My wife usually calls me clown so hey whatever floats your boat.

I actually think we pronounce process both of those ways around here, more leaning to the prawcess way though. Guess I will have to pay attention to that and let you know.

We are heavily influenced by the US where I am ...... US television, US radio etc.

I am about an hour away from Detroit, Michigan.

3 or 4 hours to Montreal for me. I am on the Eastern seaboard... I have to admit though that I am not sure how far I am from Canada... I have never been!

I think the pro (long o) cess pronunciation is the west coast of Canada.

Hello Horizon (and Threadkillers!)

I went MIA for a few days and we had some lovely posts! Welcome to the Threadkillers! I'm glad you came back to chat!

I am Ann, married & retired. Have an adorable hubby and an adorable dog. I'm the resident Southerner - I live in Florida. About 3 hours north of Disney - which is about as far north as ya'll can get without hitting Georgia!

If you like to take pictures - you should talk to Colleen - she's amazing, knowledgeable and willing to share information.

I hope everyone is having a good day. I made spaghetti sauce for Friday's lasagna. I'll make the pasta, assemble & freeze tomorrow. Then we're ready!

I'm off today to have lunch with my sister, Mary. We're hoping we can have a quick 3 day sisters weekend - depends on Susan's schedule.

Yesterday, I was removing the peel from a butternut squash to roast a bunch of veggies and a cut the dickens out of my finger! I was holding the knife wrong - I should know better, but I sliced a bunch of skin off the top of my index finger....YOUCH!

Okay - enough whining! I'm off to spend the day with my sister! Ya'll take care and I'm thinking of you!

Oh....I almost forgot! My iPad is on it's way! (Steve - I lost my other one...it was very sad)

My mother always said I was special... :dance3:Well then you will fit right in here!:thumbsup2

So I came back here since you know it is the friendliest community...
We would like to think of ourselves as one of the more friendly threads of the friendliest community...:teeth:

Just to warn you:upsidedow, If I were one of your students, I would probably be the nightmare student..who butchers words(thank god for spell checker...LOL), and puts punctuations in the wrong place:rolleyes1....
BUT I get my point across:thumbsup2 So you may want to grab a glass of wine before you stop by the Threadkillers!:rotfl:;)
About that snow... I have seen the geese flying back north, so maybe that is a good sign.. pixiedust:
Robin,....We are giving you back your geese!::yes::....

Well I have to get ready for work...Meeting today:rolleyes:
Have a good day everyone:flower3:
TTFNpaw:

Thanks for the geese Betsy. I have seen some flying north lately too:goodvibes That is always a good sign.

Yesterday was bright and sunny and I uncovered the fish pond. That was not such a fun task this year. I lost all my fish over the winter.:guilty: The pond heater stopped working and I didn't realize it soon enough and I think the pond froze too deeply. Poor fishies:guilty: They were only goldfish but still I had some of them for quite a lot of years by now.

Looking forward to that lasagna on Friday Ann and to seeing you and Tom again :woohoo:

Today is the day that we are heading out for Florida. Not until later this afternoon though. I'm looking forward to having the time away. We will be back on March 27th. I will try to post while I am away. There will be a laptop available but I'm not sure how much time I will get on it, since it is not mine. But I will definitely stop in if I can and I am sure that when Ann gets back home she will give you all a full report.

Robin,
Well have a safe trip, and a nice visit with Ann and Tom. pixiedust:
I will look forward to the reports from you both...:3dglasses

I am now on my way to work:car:
We have sunshine here too....and I think we are suppose to have a fairly warm day....Time will tell...:cool2:

Slight change in plans.

The truck has a fuel leak and needs a part to fix it. No parts in town of course but one is supposed to arrive by 8am tomorrow. Now assuming that this is indeed the correct part, the repair won't take very long.

Hopefully we will be on the road by 9am tomorrow.

Why do these things always happen when you are leaving. But at least on the bright side, it happened here and not when we were driving down the highway;)

Good evening everyone...

Nothing says celebrate like a Tuesday...

Peppermint Patty Martini:

1 part Bailey's Irish Cream
1 Part Godiva White Chocolate
1/4 Part Creme de Menthe.

Shake vigorously over ice and pour into a chocolate garnished glass.

Whats in your glass this evening?

Water... soda... wine?

Peach Fresca, but I sure do like your recipe! You are A-OK in my book!
