Got pics or a link to some?

Aisling's Mom almost did that to her when I visited a couple weeks ago  Her mom was so comfortable with me she told me she should rip all Aisling's wallpaper down right then and there to force her daughter to upgrade her kitchen.

Her mom is alot like your family, love her to death but I guarantee you she takes ALOT of patience to spend any time with her. Aisling would come over and concur if she's lurkin ::yes::

Hi Threadkillers!

The thread HAS been quiet! DU - sorry about your kitchen. I have no decorator sense - but it's MY house, so no one touches it. Plus, I am the undisputed queen of the kitchen - if anyone was going to mess with a room - it wouldn't be that one because I wouldn't cook for them for a year!

We had the grandkids over and had such a good time. I've got a pic...

The Grandson is such a BOY! He sits like a boy and he has a baggie of shell casings in his hand - he's trying to memorize cartridge size. OIY!

Ann,
Great picture of the DGKs!:thumbsup2
The boy reminds me of mine...My sons boys do alot of skeet...and just love saving dads hunting shells....always walking around with a pocket full...LOL:confused3

DU,
I would just kill if anyone did that to my kitchen....or at least make them do the redo...and go sit with an ice tea and watch them work...:3dglasses

Colleen, I just got a chance to see:3dglasses your pictures....:thumbsup2

Robin,
How was your weekend? Did Rick win again?....I hope so!:wizard:

Busy weekend here....Besides the norm visit from the girls on Sunday...
We had friends over on Sat. night made a nice roast chicken dinner, then we all went down and sat by a fire....
in between it all .....
We decided to clear a section of our woods to make a shady play area for the kids...So Sat. and Sunday afternoons we cut down alot of trees...which doesnt take alot of time....BUT cleaning up all the branches and chopping up and cleaning up...takes alot of time and work...

I am very sore today...and we still have a lot more clearing to do befor we can put up swings, and sandbox...Im thinking it will look really good when were done tho....

Hope all the rest of you TKers had a great weekend too!pixiedust:!

TTFNpaw:

Your new playground sounds cool Betsy~

Ann, your DGKs are ADORABLE!!! Is it me or does your DGS look a little like Tom?

If I've learned anything in the time I've been home, it's that this board gets quiet on weekends...that's ok for me tho, it means my friends have real lives outside of the internet!

My Mom is in FL right now. Took 10th in her National skating comp, only the top 8 moved on to finals. She was fine with it tho, cause it was that much sooner she could head to Disney. She's staying at the SOG for 4 nites and then heading back home. (She drove all the way out to NE for the comp and then to FL for her little mini vacation and then she's headed home.)

:beach: Our Beach vacation is finally getting closer...Two more weeks! :woohoo:

Hiya Threadkillers!

TW - Carter does look a bit like Tom, but our daughter looks JUST like him. DGS has a lot of his dad in him - he's very tall for his age.

DalPal - it sounds like you had a busy but fun weekend. Tonight we're going out with friends...it's our monthly dinner. We're going to Ruby Tuesdays for sliders tonight.

DU - yeah, my kitchen is sparsly decorated - you should see the other side. I have a shelf full of utensil crocks and another section with 3 kinds of olive oil, three kinds of salt, two vinegars, peppers, wine etc. The decorating in my kitchen is strictly utilitarian!

Robin - I know today is a civic holiday for ya'll, but I'm hoping to hear good news regarding Rick and his big trophy!

A great-big Hidey-Ho to everyone else!

Good Mornin!

I am doing NOTHING today!!!!:cool1: Drove James back home last night, he has band camp for the rest of the summer. I drove over 1,000 miles just last week alone.:headache:

Tommorrow is anudda day!:goodvibes

DU,
I would just kill if anyone did that to my kitchen....or at least make them do the redo...and go sit with an ice tea and watch them work...:3dglasses

My thoughts precisely!

DU - I SO don't want your gas bill!

Here's a pic (now that I know how) of my cluttered kitchen shelf. The bakers rack with the cook books are my most frequently used books. I have an entire (HUGE) book case in the garage for my small appliances and cookbooks. Ya'll make sure and let me know if you get tired of me posting pics....

:thumbsup2 Very Organized. Not so much here...Pop puts things back...well wherever he wants too. So like spoons are with the plastic wrap....dishes are stacked by last use ,,,not size. And NO ONE would ever actually put the DW on, AND unload it. Drives me crazy, im like supuer uber organized with this stuff.:headache:

Between driving to WDW & work & driving James back & forth, and having the baby a few weekends........I hit the 1k gasoline bill this past month!!!!!!!:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: My new car, that i just got in May already has 10k miles.

You need a hybrid and a winning lottery ticket!

Anybody miss me :confused3

Well we are back:thumbsup2

Just don't ask me where my trailer is currently located:headache:

We had a great weekend up until today right about noon.

We were one hour from home and had stopped for some lunch at a large truck stop type place.

Just before we stopped we had hit a HUGE hole in the road.

Walking beside the truck we notice a very large slit in the side wall of one of the back truck tires. On further investigation we found smaller slits in the front one on the same side:mad:

So we go into eat and decide to call the CAA (AAA) when we get done and have them come and change the tire.

I call them and long story short, they won't change the tire because it has 8 wheel studs not 6:sad2: Will tow it someplace for us if we want. It's a holiday not much open so we say thanks for nothing and decide to change the worst of the tires ourselves.

In the meantime we notice that BOTH the trailer tires on the opposite side have started to lose air :faint:

What the heck is going on:eek:

We think put some air in the tires and maybe we will be good to get the hour drive home. When air is put in the tire you can just hear it hissing it's way out again. A huge hole in the one tire and a smaller hole in the other.

We decide to replace one tire with the spare and put the jack under the other axle to help hold it up and leave it parked in the truck stop lot until we can get new tires and return tomorrow to pick it up.

To top it all off, there was no tire iron in our new truck.:scared1:

Of course it decides to rain just about the time Rick needs to change the tires.

Yup a great ending to an otherwise quite enjoyable weekend. If it weren't so annoying it'd be hilarious :rotfl2:

Good start to the morning though.

We drove part way back yesterday and stopped for the night at an airplane field that we knew.

The guys were headed out to get coffee this morning and I hear a hotair balloon going overhead.

Open the door and the balloon is right over the trailer and lands in the sod farm attached to where we were parked.

Cool.

Now the "chase" vehicle was sitting halfway in the ditch on the road.

The guys pulled it out of the ditch with our truck.

As a result we now have a bottle of champagne and the promise of 2 hot air balloon rides:goodvibes

Only have to make the 3 1/2 hour drive to get there.

Oh yeah, Rick came in second in his category.

He was in first for quite a while but his last flight was not his best one and he was pushed out of first.

Unn, wasn't sure I wanted to live with a national champion anyways:rotfl2:

He was not really upset about it, just wished that he had flown a bit better.

I forgot,

Ann, don't stop posting pictures, I'm loving them.

Your grandkids are adorable and I like to see the other things that you are showing us.

I have wanted to post some pictures lately but photobucket has been acting up on me.

Will have to try again to see if it will work.

Hi Robin!

I'm SO sorry you had a tough time getting home. I hope things go well getting the tires fixed. What a pain in the patootie! Congrats to Rick for his 2nd placement in the competition...tell him he deserves a hot air balloon ride!

I'm off to sleepy land....nighty-night!

Morning all! I took DD on a trip to visit 2 colleges Sunday through Monday. It was fun because it was in my old stomping grounds from my college days..upstate NY on the Canadian Border. I took DD to the St. Lawrence seaway and we stood on the edge of the US side and waived to Robin. DId you see us Robin. You may not have because sounds like it may have been around the time you were doing the tire check!:headache: That is just miserable!

Ann the kids are adorable!

Colleen ~ I agree things are QUIET on the weekends around here!

Betsy ~ ROast chiken = yummy! SOunds like a fun but exhausting weekend for you!

DU ~ one New Years eve my Best friend and I ripped off all of the wall paper in my kitchen. My kitchen was old and definitely needed a total redo. I figured if we ripped down the wallpaper I'd have no choice but to get moving with the kitchen work as we had put it off way too long! It sorta worked...took me a long time to find a contractor, but by the next new years it was done!:thumbsup2

We are going to Washington DC Fridy for a long weekend!

Good Mornin TK'ers!:goodvibes

Welcome back Crusin!:cool1: Happy to hear 2nd place:wizard: , sad to hear about the tire!:headache:

Got up early to go take a annual Blood test!:3dglasses However I learned to buy my coffee first, so its waiting in the car when I am done!:thumbsup2

Stopped over my friend Bob's house last night, He & his wife & their DD (my GodDD) are going to Italy tommorrow. My GDD is playing Basketball in Italy (with her team). Caught up with them. Seems while I was in WDW, their SIL father passed away (No one told me :scared1: ..we all grew up together)
And my Gdd (who is going with her college BB team to italy) is leaving the school when they come back.
Loooooooong story short.....They have 2 DD's going to close by colleges. Each would cost 9K a year for housing (:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: )...so they bought a house close by w/ 4 Bedrooms. They will rent 2 of the bedrooms out too the girls friends. However my GD's school STILL want the 9k even though she wont be living on campus. These people wont budge.
The ONLY way out of it is for her to leave that school. Here she is the STAR of the womans Basketball team, and they rather loose her, then forgo the 9k!!!!:confused3

BTW Student Loans are now 9% interest!!!!!!!!!!!!!:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: I told these girls to marry money!:thumbsup2

Dont know what I'm gonna do with James in a few years.:guilty: Whats even sadder is so many of these kids are leaving college with over 100k in loans and getting 27k a year jobs!!!!!! Dont make sense to me.:confused3
