The JW Marriott on Pennsylvania Avenue. It is convenient to everything and if we get tired during the day, we can just walk back to the hotel and relax by the pool for a while and go back out later. We stayed there once before and it's very nice.

Hi all!!!!!

DU....WOW...that's alot of $$$ AND ALOT of miles...i was sad to see my now 1 yr old car hit 15K miles

PD - have fun in DC - one place i have yet to go...we are touring campuses as well - next on our list is UC Davis (near Sacramento) and Fresno State....next will be a trip down to San Diego

Ann - your GKDs are adorable!!!! and you would LAUGH at my kitchen - not a cookbook in sight - nor any cooking items....HIDDEN AWAY...oh there is one Wt Watchers cookbook - never been used - but it looks nice in the Princess House book holder

.upstate NY on the Canadian Border. I took DD to the St. Lawrence seaway and we stood on the edge of the US side and waived to Robin. DId you see us Robin. You may not have because sounds like it may have been around the time you were doing the tire check! That is just miserable!

I must have sensed something though because I had that feeling that someone was watching me

The truck now has a lovely new set of tires.

The trailer has been retrieved and is back in town.

It is sitting at the tire store waiting for it's new tires to be put on tomorrow when they arrive.

While he was at the tire store, Rick ordered new tires for my car too.

Hopefully we are done with tires for a very long time to come now.

As some of you may know my Mom suffers from Alzheimers, Emphesema & a very bad knee that cant be operated on.
So most days are not good. She is confined to a wheelchair or limited to a walker. However from time to time...Mom as I always know her comes out.

Now her Caretaker who comes 3 days a week to tend to Moms personal needs. She is suppose to help her with showers, her laundry, leg therapy..etc ("suppose' is the key word here).

(the funny part is coming)

Moms Caretaker is a very nice lady, but sorta ditzy, However she trys to prove that she is smart by telling me what she watched on PBS last night. Ya know the type.

Anyhooooooooooooo Mom in her heyday, was a Atlantic City visiting, OTB loving, Bingo Freak, Friday night poker playing fanatic. Her caretaker keeps offering day trips for Mom to the library, Museums...etc! Mom could care less.

Today she asked me if its ok to take Mom to see Eagles Mountain. EM is a mountain where all eagles hang out, about 5 minutes away.

Mom turned and said to her.... "I better not go, with my luck the birds will all **** on my head!"



Needless to say the caretaker didnt know what to say....I was hysterical laughing!!!!

Good Morning TKers

Well Im a DGM again ....Lori had the baby the night of the 4th...I went yesterday, for a look see and a visit.....He is BEAUTIFUL...The nice thing about babies that go past their due date, is that they look so filled out and pretty...
His name is "Kolbe christopher Villanella", He was 8lbs. 13oz.(big baby!)
I have pictures and Ill try to post some time today...

I have a grooming appt. for Albert today.....at noon....
So I have to stay on town for a few hrs...

So sorry to hear about the RV troubles ....BUT a hot air balloon ride ....WOW ....Id love to do that some day...We have a balloon rally here every Aug.( it was just last weekend)
It's so cool to watch them all take off...

We thought our RV was a gonner last weekend!.
We are clearing a spot for the DGKs to play in our woods...We will put up a few swings and a sand box and such...
Well when Mike dropped one of the trees, it hit the RV...
I COULDNT BELIEVE IT!
It seems he miscalculated where it would fall...

Well after taking a look at the damage, we decided we were very lucky...It broke the fridge vent to pieces(have to replace that)..dented the side a very little, but didnt go through...PHEWWwwww....
we have a very small ripe in the awning (duct taped for now)and a small rip in the rubber of the roof( this can be caulked)...All in all it could have been ALOT worse...
Thank god the tree was VERY dead..and it was the very top of it that hit....

I have that "Better homes and gardens" cookbook...Its one of my favorites! I use it the most...Although I have to admit I use the net alot more then cookbooks now!

Morning all! I took DD on a trip to visit 2 colleges Sunday through Monday. It was fun because it was in my old stomping grounds from my college days..upstate NY on the Canadian Border.
I love it up there in the summer...Id hate to have to be there in the winter though...Its bad enough here in NE Pa...!

Well everything seems to be true. "Not that there is anything wrong with that."
anyhoooooooooooooooooooooooo the son had his male friend 'sleep over" last night...WITH THE BLINDS OPEN & THE LIGHTS ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and they are 16 or 17!

In other words...I'm living on Brokeback Mountain.

We have scratch marks on ours from rubbing against trees in very tight spots but so far we haven't had a tree fall right ontop of it

My father has a thing that EVERY NIGHT at 6:00 he closes all the blinds! Drives me CRAZY!

Speaking of being driven Crazy. I was home putting Moms Blow Up booties on @ 10:00pm this evening...when my Cell phone rang.
It was my Boss, he wanted to know where I was!
I was suppose to work tonight!!!!!!
I wrote down Thurs, Fri& Sat night on my calender...should have been Weds, thurs & Friday!

Anyhoooooooo I am at work now, not bad got here by midnight to relieve the 2nd shift (all 3 of them)!!!!

I cant keep up this waky shifts anymore...getting to old.... YES I AM 19!!!!!

Speaking of OLD....I just recently had a Physical (DA woiks)...providing a truck dont hit me, I should be around for awhile.

The only thing wrong was that my Cholesterol was 220 (should be under 200) BUt my GOOD Cholesterol (who knew I even had that) is well over the 40 it should be.
So I gotta watch my diet (ugh) and for know just take Omega3 (fish oil) over the counter pills, and exercise..and yadda yadda...and take another blood test in 4 months!

I didnt get to see my mom on Tues. as I normally do...Because I went to see my new DGS...I wonder if she will have noticed...
The last time I didnt get there, she asked me where I have been...
OFCOURSE she cant remember most anything, on any given day,...BUT she just had to remember that I didnt come... on the day I normally do... ..I cant get away with anything...I guess the saying is true....once a mom ALWAYS a mom....

Well at least the only place the trailer was damaged was the fridge vent...and we still have to get that fridge fixed from the recall, so Im hoping to get the vent replaced then...We will do it in the fall probably...
The rip in the awning is very small, and we dont use the awning that often...So Im not to worried about that....and like your scratches, dents are dents...They dont look great IF anyone even notices them, but they ARE only dents after all....

I dont have to worry about blinds being closed where I live...(although we close ours when we go to bed)The only thing that would see us is a bear, or maybe a couple of deer...Unless someone lurking around a back country dirt road at night ..and if so I think we would have more to worry about them, then them seeing in our house ....
But Im glad the only thing I see outside at night is the dark woods and night sky...
How about going out onto your deck?....Isnt that in your back yard?...

Well today is my Normal Thursday...So Im on the runAGAIN!( this is my 3rd day in a row that Ive gone into town...)
