Morning Colleen. Have a good day today.

Hi Robin!

Just getting ready to start a new one...

going over school options, I have to make appts to visit the schools before I can get my grant to go. Ten weeks is a long time to commit, I need to make sure it's something I'll stick with.

Tomorrow I'm going to see Regis and Kelly in NYC with Aisling!

:woohoo:

I would get off the ship in Nassau! ::yes::

That's where Atlantis is right???

Yes that is where Atlantis is.

Atlantis itself is kind of neat, we've been there a couple of times.

Other than that, Nassau is really not that wonderful of a place:confused3

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY ROBIN!!!!!

Hope you had a wonderful day and hope you have a magical cruise!

:cheer2: pixiedust: :rockband: :cake: party: :bday:

Hi everyone else!:)

Congratualtions on getting your Wii!!!

Will James' Christmas present be staying at your house after the Holidays?

;)

I already have one here. This one is for his house. Will be a Wii Christmas. Wii fit, Rockband etc.

It worked! I narrowed my list down to Infortmation Systems and got my list of three schools I now have to visit (required) and then I can submit my application for the Tuition Grant! :woohoo:

I've always been good at computers, maybe it is about time I use it to get a nice paycheck...Unemployment will wind up paying about 3500 on my behalf - but for all the years I've been paying in to the system, it's about time I get something useful out of it.

DOIT!:thumbsup2

and I taught Brittany how to use a sewing mechine.
I was very surprised that they didnt have sewing in
their home ec. classes.:confused3 No cooking either...
They just get child care classes... .......

Sewing/knitting is definately a lost art! My Mom use to teach these in our school when we were kids.

One week from now I will be sitting in a dining room aboard the Disney Wonder:woohoo:

:wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

Had a houseful of Company yesterday! Way too busy! Makie was here, she was in her glory....I had Sicilian Pizza & French fries & YooHoo for her. Or as she say's "piiiiisa, rench ries & hooooohoo"! She wasnt too happy that the Pool was closed!:headache: Oh Well!

Watch the emmy's last night...glad to see my New fav show won best Drama "MadMen". Love that show!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Back to work tonight, my lottery #'s didn't come out this weekend!:confused3

Thanks PD for the birthday greetings.

So sorry to hear about your lottery numbers DU. Better luck next time.

Liz is so excited and happy today.

She got a job, only part time but still a job.

She is going to be working as a nurse in a retirement home.

She went for the interview and the lady said she would call her references and called Liz back within an hour with 40 hours of orientation time in the next week:thumbsup2

It's amazing how quickly she was able to find a job once she started looking. She sent out resumes by email on last Wednesday (very late at night) and had calls at 9am the next morning.

Of course I think she was most excited because she had an excuse to go out and buy herself some new scrubs :rotfl2:

Hi Threadkillers!

I'm in Orlando with the grandkids having a great time...they grow SO fast!

I'm with Robin...Nassau isn't all that much. I'm sorry you don't like the spa...Tom and I LOVED the massage we had last time and can't wait for spa treatments!

We decided that we're not doing much in Cozumel and Grand Cayman. Anything having to do with seafood or aquatics is too risky for me and neither one of us are city or ruins tour people.

To be perfectly honest, we don't care where we go, we just want to be on the boat for a week. We picked the Western Cruise - because we both LOVE Key West.

Well, gotta scoot. Ya'll take care!
Ann

Liz is certified in a great area! Congratulations to her on being hired!

My going to school for IT certification will most likely get me a really good paying job. The director suggested I get the certificates in all the stuff I already know while I am there~(Micrsoft application stuff.)

I can start October 16th if I unemployment approves my choice.

I could never do what Liz and Cally do. Anyone in that field should be commended for the kayrap they're gonna hafta deal with.

I know what you mean Ann about being perfectly happy on the ship because you guys know how to enjoy the time together know matter what environment you're in.

To be perfectly honest, we don't care where we go, we just want to be on the boat for a week.

I gotta agree with you there Ann.

Rick always says that they can even leave the ship winched up to the dock for all he cares:rotfl2:

It doesn't have to go anywhere at all.

I could never do what Liz and Cally do. Anyone in that field should be commended for the kayrap they're gonna hafta deal with.

Quite, literally at times :lmao:

I've got tons of work to do too.

I did mow my lawn on Saturday and you can't even tell that I did it anymore now:sad2:

I'm not sure that it will get done before we leave though.

I'm pretty sure that the grass will still be there when we get home again:laughing:

Im sure you are right Robin...LOL

not only still be hanging out in your yard, but all growed up...LOL

:rotfl: Of that I have no doubts Betsy :rotfl2:

It sure doesn't cut itself, does it.

I have a load of laundry in the washer right now and I've GOT to clean the fix tank.

Poor fishies are swimming around in polluted water :fish:

I just had to flush tw of my favorite fish yesterday...Im not sure why, but my Gourami, got all fat and bloated, and my loach had white all over his face...Im thinking I had a parasite...But Im not sure...Im going to wait and see if I lose any more and if not replace them....
But It was a sad day for me yesterday...oh well fish are just fish...This is why I dont let the kids name them...;)

Yes, fish are just fish but you can get attached to them just as easily as you can other pets.

I know that I've had a few that were special over the years.

Congratulations to Liz!! I hope she likes it.

You know on some days I took my patients for granted... When I started working on weekends they put me on a different hall... that's when I realized how much I bonded with my patients and missed them!!!

I got to work with them lastnight again because one of the nurses was willing to switch with me and I LOVED it!!! I didn't realize how much difference it makes when you bond with these patients.... you are with them in THEIR home for 10 to 12 hrs everyday... you form friendships, bonds, and you become family..... you don't even realize it until they are taken away from you! These people need you and depend on you and to be able to make them happy and meet their needs is fulfilling. It's really not a hard thing to do..... well for me it isn't. :)

Betsy I get all rested up the 4 days I have off... I like having the four days...I also like the idea of locking up in the bathroom for a long soak and nice music :cloud9: maybe a good book too :thumbsup2

The weather is starting to cool down here... I turned the AC off

Is it just me or is my glittery name now just a red X:confused3

I don't even see the red x Cally.

That was very interesting what you said about the people that you work for, because you really are working for the patients.

I can see how easy it would be to become attached to them after spending so much time with them.
