So sorry about the loss of your childhood landmark DU.

But ...... somehow I'm thinking the math does not add up here

:lmao:

I was thinking the same thing last night...that would have made DU a negative 30??? when he rode the Steeplechase his last time ;)

 Hello there. I am also from a Chatham, but across the ocean from you in Canada :thumbsup2

I've been to a Vanderbilt mansion too but it was in South Carolina (maybe North Carolina??) I think:confused3 Or am I remembering the wrong family name?

Right family. Frederick Vanderbilt had his summer home in Hyde Park New York, his brother George had the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC ....way bigger than the puny (read this as huge to me) estate in Hyde Park:rotfl: :rotfl: The Hyde Park house was only used for a few weeks every year!:scared1: Other family members had mansions in Newport, RI. I try to keep up on my Vanderbilt history, because they are the ancestors of ANderson Cooper:lovestruc and I am sure some ay he will invite me to dine with him and I want to be prepared!:cloud9:

It was a long trip back last night and I drove most of it because I was with 2 guys who can't keep their eyes open after it gets dark outside :sad2:

To get to Montreal it was an 8 1/4 hour drive without stops. We did it in two days on the way there because we left kinda late and came back all in one trip.

Got home last night about 1am.

I hope you had a great time. Bet you're exhausted today! How far are you from Tronto?

Got our cruise documents this morning :dance3:

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Thanks for the Vanderbilt family history.

I hope it comes in real handy for you some day:thumbsup2

We are about 2 1/2 hours to the outer edges of Toronto from here.

Welome Home!:goodvibes

Its DISUNC MATH:teacher: ! It rivals the Theory of Relativity, comined with a dash of extrastentialism, and a bit of good old fashion Bull.:cool1:

Rainny here today.....
Hello to our newest newbie...:wave2:
and welcome...from this side of the pond!:teeth:

Sorry I have been MIA alot lately...Its been surprisingly busy here...

But the WDW planning got a little easier..as my friends have decided to go in May..instead of Dec.
(a MUCH better time to go...IMO!)..So we now have alot more time to do the planning....

I babysit today...My three eldest DGSs...while the youngers go to the docs, with their mom....

They should be here any min. now....

I want to go see the Biltmore someday....Ashville, is the place Ive always said Id move to if we had to move...
Still get the mountians, but pretty close to the shore when I get the ich for the ocean....Shorter winters too!

Well I better get ready for the munchkins....

Good Morning Tkers!!!! I SURVIVED the 60 mile walk....walked each one of them....altho have to say the shuttle bus looked SO good at times...Friday & Sat were unusually WARM (okay HOT) days in San Francisco - well into the 90's both days....was NOT expecting that!!! Sunday was the more typical day with a high in the low 70's - PERFECT walking weather!

What an INCREDIBLE experience it was!!! Unbelievable....you definitely experienced so many emotions!!!! Will add some photos sometime later...just finally uploaded them last night, but have many to delete, clean-up etc.

THANK YOU all for the wishes & pixie dust!!!!

Awwww - Thank you both so much!!!! BTW - the San Francisco group raised 4.8 million $$ - Incredible huh??? :goodvibes

Absolutely Incredible numbers Brenda!!!

You deserve a few pats on the back for the work you put in to help others. I am VERY proud of you!

Betsy, I hafta tell ya. The winters might be shorter, but inland NC can get HOT! and they tend to have more ice and power outage issues than most when the winter storms do hit. (Rose's sister lives there.)

If I were to move down there, I'd move alot closer to the shore. John and I have talked about it many, many times. ... just sayin ... :wizard:

I have a job interview this afternoon, cross your fingers and toes for me

We also have a town meeting to go to :(

The guy who wanted the car wash got approved and then sold the plans and lot cause he couldn't afford to build it. Now the new guy wants to change the plans we already took two years to hammer out. I already notified the local paper and asked them to be there with us.

Good Morning Threadkillers!

CADZ - Congratulations! I knew you'd finish! You are SO amazing!

LM83 - Hi there! How's life across the pond? Lovely here in Florida. Temps in the high 80's and I'm wearin' shorts (again!). Just LOOOOOVE Florida!

DP - say hello to the girls for me!

TW - P&PD for your interview and I'm sorry to hear the carwash is an issue again!

Hi to everyone else! I'm getting some work done today - spent yesterday playing. Changing the bed, laundry, kitchen...the usual.

Ya'll take care!

How i wish i was in Florida now, its been raining on and off here all day!

I haven't been on much but managed to kill one today too...

the storms seem to have passed, which is a good thing because Penny (our Shi'tzu for our newbie :) ) tries to hide in the strangest places when she's ascared. Today she wedged herself into a shoe rack I have on the floor  She likes hiding in the tub too, so I put a towel down in there and she's been ok. I'd have to lock her in the bathroom if it were still thundering just to keep Penny safe while I am out. John found her wedged in between our dressers once and she seems to like to go behind my desk or the tv.
