:yay: Got some time here to read thru....WOW I missed alot!

So who is the lucky stud with all the ladies????:thumbsup2

He is the boyfriend of the girl standing next to him in the blue and white dress. Well at least he was until last night, when they broke up! He's a really nice kid, but he looks likes he's about 12. I kept joking to my DH that they all looked like a wedding party and he was the ring bearer!

Miss Smarty Pants!:thumbsup2 Tell her I said Congrats!!!!!

Will Do!
Poor james had his 8th grade talent Show today (Guess who was the first too sign up????). But they cancelled it....seems like he and only 2 other 8th graders signed up!!!!! Not sure if he is peeved because they cancelled it or because he thought he was a "shoo in" to win!!!!!! :rotfl: Whadda EGO!

I am sure you wil make it up to him by allowing him to perform for you all weekend law...I imagine he is doing ELvis! ANd Mackenzie can contribute with her Hannah Montana Act!
Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger declared a state of emergency for Santa Cruz County late Thursday afternoon in response to the massive damage being caused by the Summit Fire.
Fire officials said a wildfire burning in the Santa Cruz Mountains has grown to about 3,000 acres. The fire is expected to grow to 10,000 acres
About 1,400 homes were evacuated - 336 of them under mandatory orders - as the fire, first reported around 5:30 a.m., continued to grow despite more than 500 firefighters and a swarm of tanker planes and helicopters dousing the area.
Summit Road has been closed between Mount Madonna Road and Highway 17. The fire is burning near Highway 17 and Mount Madonna County Park, about ten miles west of Gilroy, or about 40 miles south of San Jose.

DS' school cancelled for tomorrow....they are WAY to close to Mt Madonna & we travel thru MM each day to get to & from Watsonville for school & work....all very very sad here....

Stay safe. Is Ryan happy about his extended long weekend? I would be!

Hi Threadkillers!

CADZ - Please be careful! Fires are scary - you never know where they're headed! When they had the wildfires in San Diego some years back, our DS, DDIL & their kids and my DB & his family were evacuated. Fortunately they had no damage.

DU - I WAS excited about the Pepsi sale. When you're buying 27 twelve packs, that's quite a price break! Loading and unloading them wasn't a barrel of laughs, tho! I'll be sure to give the sisters your love.

Well, I have 7 batches of cookies made and in the fridge to be baked tomorrow for the party - we're gonna have a good time!

I used to be (a zillion years ago) an Asst. Manager for a Credit Union. We had a IT department that regularly screened computer usage (for security reasons). We had one guy in my dept they suspected was laundering $$$. He wore Armani to work and worked part-time for less than $10 per hour...but I digress. They had a couple of people that were looking up the PRESIDENT/CEO & SRVP's accounts and salaries! Okay - if you work at a bank...that is NOT a smart move. People just don't think sometimes!

Well, a great, big hidey-ho to everyone and I hope you're having a GREAT night!

We have a surprise 50th birthday party for my brother tomorrow. It should be fun. Weather is going to be beautiful! If you have any extra cookies or pepsi, please send them North!

:yay: Got some time here to read thru....WOW I missed alot!

Before I go any further....
Robin, How is your son?:wizard:

I love the colors!!!! But why the placement there?

Well now that is a huge story in itself about my son.

I'll tell it in a minute.

I agree about the placement, DU.

My neice did the exact same thing with a couple of big tatoos that I don't know what they are of off hand:confused3

Not such a great night for me last night.

Enjoy your family party this weekend Ann.

PD, have fun at your party too.

Brenda stay safe.

Yesterday was not the greatest day for me all around.

I went to dance class yesterday morning and I called out hello to the dance teacher as I entered. She did not answer which is unusual.

She is sitting in the dark and gets up and I can see that she is crying.:guilty:

I ask her if she is having a bad day and she says, yes, sort of.

Her cute little pug dog Frank was killed the night before:sad1:

Frank was a real sweetheart, just short of 3 years old.

He was at her boyfriends house, where he spends a lot of time playing with the other dogs.

He was run over by her boyfriend's mother, in the driveway of their house.

I'm sure that poor lady feels really awful running over her son's dog. She has about 3 dogs of her own. Apparently she was quite upset about it.

I asked Alex (the dance teacher, not the son) if she wanted to cancel class that morning since it was just me but she said no, she needed to keep busy.

So we danced and talked a lot about Frank.

She used to bring Frank to the dance studio all the time when he was younger. He loved to "dance" with us. The kids at the studio all loved him.

He will be missed.

Stay safe. Is Ryan happy about his extended long weekend? I would be!

Thank you! He is happy about being able to 'sleep in'~ he & DH are going to National Sequoia Park to a cabin with some friends (we go almost every year)....but DH is still working till 1 or so today - so even tho there's no school - they are not leaving any earlier....my flight is at midnight (I am headed for Iowa for a HS alumni reunion dinner / dance AND mostly to see my Mother & sisters & their families.) I'm a little leary of leaving in the middle of this huge fire - so just hoping & praying that it doesn't make the 10 miles over Mt Madonna to our house~

I just got a ring of the doorbell a few minutes ago.

It was the neighbour across the street, you know, the crazy garbage people;)

Apparently Rick, who is on his way today to a competition in Ohio, dropped his passport in the street when he was getting in the van this morning:scared:

Yikes he might need that.

Actually sewer, where did you say you were from? He is going somewhere near to Columbus.

Anyways, it was very nice of them to bring it back. It's just a good thing he has not already left for his competition and still has time to come home and pick it up.

Have a great time! Hopefully everything will be fine and if not thank goodness none of you will be home so you will all be safe. That is what is important.

okay now to the story with Alex.

Last night he had another attack of his "gallbladder" symptoms.

The pain came on really quickly and was the worst attack yet.

I had to take him to the ER yet again. We arrived there at about 9:45pm.

The waiting room was fairly busy but the Fast Track clinic was open. It takes the less urgent cases so it frees up the emergency room beds for more serious stuff.

They took him back and did some blood work and gave him a shot of pain killer and sent him back to me in the waiting room to wait his turn.

He got back into the Emergency room about 11:30ish.

I waited 2 hours in the waiting room with no word and finally asked about his condition.

At that point they let me back to sit with him.

He had been lying there in the bed for all that time basically left alone. They did take his blood pressure before they desserted him:sad2:

About 40 minutes after I got back there the doctor finally came to see him.

They decided that they were going to sort of fast forward him by making him an appointment with a surgeon next week.

He is having ultrasound on Tuesday morning to see if they see any gall stones and then will see the surgeon after that.

We got home again around 2:30 am :faint.

AND this morning Liz has to go at have her two top wisdom teeth removed:rolleyes:

So that will be more sitting and waiting for me.

Maybe I can nap while Liz is sleeping after having her teeth out. :cat:

I think it's gonna be a long day.

Well, I best head off to the shower, although I have a nice little kitty sleeping on me at the moment :goodvibes

Thanks he was a real sweetheart. He used to stand on his hind legs and dance right in front of me :)

That is soo sad. Poor ALex and that poor woman who ran him over, she must be devastated!

I know, poor Alex.

Last year January she has a fire at her new dance studio.

Last month she has a flood and has to renovate again.

Now she loses Frank in such an awful way.

I sure hope all her bad luck is done.

At my hip hop class last night, all the ladies pretty much had found out about Frank in advance.

Alex was talking about him and she was starting to tear up.

We're like, Alex, dont' start crying or all of us will be standing here crying with you:eek:

That was all so sweet Betsy...

I'm in full "looking for a job" mode ... school is officially done - which means the unemployment checks are done. I've been spending all my time writing up my resume, cover letters to go with each application and looking over the want ads and job finder sites.

We only have one party to go to, on Sunday. I'd asked John to take tomorrow off and take me to the zoo and Monday we might try to cookout with Rose and her hubby Ed.

Happy Memorial Day weekend my Tkers~

I can't believe I missed all that!

I feel so bad about your teacher and her pug :(

Is your family prone to stones? I've never had them - thank GOD! - but know it's very painful. I hope Alex comes out of this ok~

Didju get some rest waiting for Liz today?

Colleen, yes there does seem to be a family history of gallbladder problems.

I had mine out about 16-17 years ago, my mom had her out and my grandmother had hers out too.

So, I won't be too surprised if that is what is causing all of his problems.

Of course, he's very busy right now if he has to have surgery, but then there is never really a good time to have surgery, is there:confused3

Good luck with you job searching. I hope you can find something that you like.

Robin - I'm SO sorry you're having a rough time. P&PD to the Alex's :flower3: and you, too.

TW - good luck with the job search.

DU - sorry to hear the talent contest was cancelled. How does your DN feel about Karaoke?

CADZ - enjoy your weekend out of town and I hope the fires stay far, FAR away!

HI Betsy - Thanks for the offer to post the pics. I'm putting the camera in my bag right now!

Hi to everyone/anyone else I missed!

Well, 300 cookies are baked. I'll make a giant pot-o-beans tomorrow (I have a really great recipe!).

DD called and her DH won't be able to make it. We're really gonna miss him - he is SO much fun to be with.

I'm exhausted and I desperately need a shower! Taa-taa my friends!

Have a wonderful time and enjoy your family Ann.

If you have a few cookies left over, you can share them with us when you get back:thumbsup2
