Just got back from another 3 hours with my mom at the emergency room.

Her hand got really swollen and her fingers were starting to change colours :eek:

So I had to take her back.

They cut a groove into her cast to allow room for the swelling to fit.

It looks and feels much better now.

She has an appointment on Monday to see the specialist, so hopefully she will be okay now until then.

And now I'm tired. :cat:

Nothing quite so exciting was happening tonight in the ER.

We were in there a few hours later than we were last night though, so maybe that made a difference. :confused3

Morning everyone.

PD, how long before you get any results from your daughters MRI?

Mom is doing a bit better this morning.

She says it's still swollen some and hurting but less than it was, so that's good.

Beautiful day here today.

I'm going to try and get out and enjoy some of it.

By doing yardwork :rolleyes:

We went to the orthopedist this morning. There is a major tear in the meniscus so DD is having surgery on Wednesday. She can go back to school the following Monday. Lots of physical therapy in her future! Hopefully she will be back to normal by mid-summer (that sounds so far away). Dr. says that if she is really good and does all of her follow up care diligently, he might be able to let her take her brace off for 1 night on June 6th for her 8th grade formal! That is great incentive for her. This doctor has a wonderful reputation and is just wonderful and encouraging to DD (and me). He explained to her that after physical therapy it's quite possible that she will be an even better athlete, because her knee will be so strong.

Hi Threadkillers!

PD - I'm sorry that your DD has to have surgery, but relieved that she has such a good prognosis.

Robin - I'm glad your mother is doing better.

SWHNN (sister) visited Dad this afternoon and he is (once again) doing poorly. He's so nauseated that he can't/won't take his pain medication. I honestly don't know what we're going to do at this point. While I have no doubt he is truly having difficulties, he also will NOT push himself to get well. Oiy...

The good news is I have my neices boyfriend (Corey - but I call him Elvis) here cooking an Italian feast. We've made bread for garlic bread, sauce & cheese mixture for lasagna, the noodles are resting before we roll them out, the crust for the crostada, the bruschetta topping is marinating and once the lasagna is in the oven (pre-cooking) we'll make the blueberry filling for the crostata.
