No, sorry. I figured they were on their way when Cally posted, but nothing here yet.
Thanks Colleen. AT and SW are only out of Midway here, which we don't want to do as we live 10 mins. from O'Hare, but the Travelzoo I hadn't used yet, so thanks!FletcherMem0rial said:Kim, Airtran and Southwest have been my best deals to date. I use the search engine Travelzoo on Yahoo.
Sorry for not replying before Robin. Answer tho, NO GUNS, concealed or otherwise, owned by any CIVILIAN I KNOW of, EXCEPT the police officers in our family/school families, and we have quite a few. Here in the City, we're not hunters and we're not afraid, so no guns. Not in MY house!Cruisin said:Thanks for all the answers to my gun question.

First Ann, Congrats on the car!!!Hollyann said:we bought the best deal they had when we thought about booking and decided not to look back. I'm so excited about your Disney trip! Hope you had a good time at your father's retirement party! Working in construction (pools) I know from which you speak!
That is Way Cool!
(My mid-life-crisis(?) brother just got a brand-new Ford Mustang!!!
)
Group rate, thanks to either Betsy or Colleen who mentioned it, and haven't taken credit for it yet - Thank you!
I still don't think it's a great price, but Mom & I are relieved that it's DONE. It was UNDER the $3,000 that Mom thought was acceptable for 10 (11 with the baby) to get there, all at the same time, in the same place, so I guess I'm willing to accept it also. Mom bought a bathing suit - so she is DEFINATELY committed to going NOW!
My cousin hasn't found anything acceptable yet, but I passed along to her ALL the tips and suggestions everyone here gave.
We have a Grand Gathering package, with a name! LOL "Dad's Retirement Celebration".
Our guys (my family) all got home at about 9:30 last night, after 9 hours of 'partying'
. Thankfully, one of my brothers does not drink AT ALL, so he drove Dad home, the 4 blocks.
While I only stayed for about an hour, from 3-4 pm, I was told that many more kept coming in/out through the night (including a former friend of mine, who's now head-groundskeeper at Wrigley Field!!!! I missed him!!!
) Sorry, I'm rambling.
Anyway, this is a BIG plumbing company that Dad, and my uncle (retired), 2 brothers and cousins (only 1 now, formerly 3) have and do work for for many years now. It was really something when several of 'THE' owners showed up.
I almost cried, I am sooo proud of all he's done in his 62 years!
Ok, NOW I'm crying. My Dad is/was such a hard worker that I'm honestly having a hard time even thinking of him as retired.
His work ethic, which I think I thankfully inherited
, is something to BE proud of.
For THAT I'm also grateful!!!
I'm obviously NOT speechless tonight.

I hope that we can all continue to live this way.![]()

Wow that is an awesome gift to receive! I can tell by your post just how proud you are!
Your dad sure does sound like a great hard working man!
(Either way physical labor when a nap actually sounds good right now
)

A great big hello to everyone else out there!
