Just thought I'd pop in and say Killing threads can be very enlightening

Hi Tui! Hope you're enjoying the DISBoards!

DalPal - what dining preference did you pick? I think since it's going to be mostly adults - we should do late dining. However, since you booked first, I'll follow your lead!

Let me know - I'm ready to book-em Danno!

I picked sec.(late) seating.... ..We just got done watching the planning DVD...Now Im REALLY excited :teeth:

Edited to add,
 Welcome to the Tker thread!...

 Hi everyone.

We used to always do the late seating but once we switched to main seating we found we liked that better.

We found with late seating that you feel like you don't have much of an evening left. By the time you get done dinner it is already going on for 10 pm and then you don't have space to do justice to those late night buffets. ;)

Just what we have found, you guys decide which works best for all of us and we will go along with it.

I know, I'm even later than normal, but what a night - Thank God for baby brothers. :goodvibes

After work I took Kelly to her arts & crafts class, came home and it was chilly in the house. I chalked it up to my lovely programmable thermostat that drops the temps while we're out. Well, the entire time I was here, maybe 1/2 hour, I never took my coat off, and the thermostat was even lower than what I set it for. :confused3 Well, after the 1/2 hour, the temp dropped another º (love that alt-1-6-7), so I checked a couple registers, and they were blowing NOT warm air, blowing, but not warm. Great, I'm leaving to get Kelly, it's 4PM on a Friday, and I have no heat and can't use a cell phone in the car (against the law here) so, I broke the law  , used speakerphone to call one place, who wanted $199 just to COME OUT, any work was extra, and they couldn't come until about NOW - between 10-12!!! :cold: :cold: I called my baby bro. :goodvibes Picked up Kelly from class, went to DBs house, stayed there with his 2 kids while he went to my house to fix my furnace!!!!!!!!!!!! :teeth:  :cool1: :cheer2: The pilot was out. :sad2: :rolleyes2 :headache: It wasn't even the ignitor ($7 part) we thought it was. It needed an AIM & FLAME is all! :rotfl: :worship:  For my brother! He saved me $199+ tonight. It 'cost' me about $45 for the case of beer, and chicken dinner for all of us tho. ;) We are toasty again in Chicago, thank you Rory!!! :goodvibes

Who knew 7 hours of my life would take up so much space, eh? < noted! :rotfl: The furnace took about 1 hour. Eating and chatting was the rest. :teeth: Bad night turned FUN! :goodvibes

I was going to package up my SS tonight, but since I wasn't home, it was delayed, again. :guilty:

Well, since I'm here anyway.......... :scratchin , tomorrow I'm going with Kelly and her Brownie troop to Brookfield Zoo to decorate a Cmas tree with ornaments they made. Can you say long underwear?!! :cold: :rotfl: Should be :sunny: tho, so maybe we'll stay somewhat warm. Kelly has long-johns, I don't. Many layers for me tomorrow!

HEY!!! The furnace JUST NOW shut off. It finally reached the set temp! :cloud9:

Matt isn't home from work yet, I guess I'll be up waiting for him.

As quick as that sentence was typed (you be the judge how fast I type :rotfl: ) the furnace kicked on again. Trust me tho, we're toasty. :goodvibes

Get well to all those feeling 'nasty'. :crazy2:

I'll be around for a little while. :rolleyes1

Ophie, glad to hear that your mom is doing a bit better. Did she ever get the envelope that I sent to her?

I'm glad she liked it. You might have mentioned it and I probably missed it ;)

Doesn't matter, as long as it arrived safely.

It was pretty chilly in HERE too a little earlier. :cold: 64º and DROPPING! Should be 74º now, if I went and checked. Furnace still/again running tho! :goodvibes We're good here!

Still no Matt tho. He is working more part-time hours in the past/next 6 days than I have ever worked in the 5 day/week part time that I have! He worked last night, tonight, and he's scheduled for Sat, Sun, Mon, and Tues. 6 days straight. :sad2: He's in High School! :rolleyes2

Hope everyone enjoys their weekend

edited to add :....
I can move mine to first seating on the cruise ..if its what you all decide..I just picked one...and should Ann have had my com. #?..or can we do that later?? :confused3

ZJO Threadkillers! Well, I didn't get to book the cruise! We had a neighbor that was SO sick that she was in the hospital - her husband (military) is deployed and there was no one to watch the kids. Tom and I took the baby and another neighbor who had kids took the two older ones.

The baby was sweet, but she wanted to be held ALL night long. So, no cruise booked - no sleep!

Robin - I see what you mean about the early booking - but I still think I like the late dining because we'll be out of the way of all the kids and the threadkillers can spend some quality time together. Late night buffets - sound great, but I know I don't need to be indulging twice in one night!

I'm gonna go ahead and book the 2nd dining since DalPal already did and if ya'll want to change....I have no problem-o! Besides - if it's only 10pm when we finish our dinner - where will Kim be? You KNOW she doesn't show up til midnight!

Our neighbor picked up her baby a few minutes ago so I'm trying to get my thanksgiving cards out before DH takes me to lunch.....

gotta run!

P.S. Kim I'm glad you're warm!

Ann about the dinner seating and kids. I can guarantee you that you will be in the dining room and not notice any kids at all.

They tend to group people in the dining rooms by the "type" of families they are. Therefore in one dining room they will have more small children with their families and in another there will be more adults and older children (like teenagers)

But it is up to you guys what you want to do.

And yes you WILL want to indulge twice in one night. I have it from very good authority that cruise ship food has no calories ;) Actually you will do tons of walking onboard, so you won't have to worry so much and it is only 4 days.

When you go on a cruise, all thoughts of dieting are put on hold until you step foot off of the ship. Those are the rules :earboy2:

Besides if you and Tom are done dinner at 10 pm, you will have no night left ;) I know that you are early to bed people

Hi All

Thanks for all the good wishes :wizard: , I am feeling better today. :teeth:

Went to the grocery store today to prepare for the Thanksgiving feast. Takes me DAYS of cooking for 15min of Glory  . The store was packed!! I wanted atleast a 25# turkey and only walked away with a 23#....oh well close enough!!

Whats everybody doing for thanksgiving? I'm have alot of family over about 17 people!! :goodvibes So lots of pie baking to do......

Been working on my SS present, not ready to send yet...... :Pinkbounc

Chat with you all later :grouphug:

ZJO Threadkillers!

I'm booking the Disney Cruise right now! I've got their web page open, the DISBoards running AND I'm on hold with Disney! I want to ask about the payments and how they're done.

Plus, Robin.....you make a good point - I'm going to ask how hard it is to switch to early dining. If we can't all get the same - it won't be any fun! I've got late dining right now and I'll let you know. Thanks for the info. I agree, diets DO tend to fall by the wayside on this.

We decided to book a CAT4 room - it's not too much more booking early and you only cruise the first time once! I have decided NOT to get the annual pass - at least not yet. We'll see if that will work out another year.

We ARE going to WDW for a day (Epcot) after Christmas! Just DH and me...looking forward to romantic strolls around the world showcase!

Goodness, they are a bit busy today on the cruise phone line......

 Ann, good luck with your cruise booking :cheer2:

A cat4, that's nice. We have never been in anything over a Category 8 and only then because we were upgraded. We are happy with the lowest cabin that we can get. We don't really spend much time in there anyways, so we would rather spend the extra money on something else.

But to each his own, otherwise they wouldn't have different cabin categories at all :earboy2:

Ordinarily I would agree, but since DH said okay - I'm striking while the iron is hot!

Okay - Betsy...don't hate me...but I'm going to book early dining. I talked to one of the cruise reps and she said it's MUCH easier to switch to late dining than early. But if you DO want early dining to book now. She said you CAN change it on-line.

So here's the problem....we've got two people booked on separate dining. We've GOT to have a consensus. I know I really pushed for late dining, but I think Robin makes some really good points and we might enjoy early dining if they separate the kids.

I did ask about how late some of the adult clubs/activities are open. She said it depends on how many people are there and how it's going...they sometimes will stay open late.

If everyone decides they want late dining - I'll switch with no problem-o! So - here's the poll.....Please state what you want!!!

If you're cruising - do you want early or late?

When we are cruising we prefer to have early seating.

We have done both but have settled on early being our preference.

We also eat early at home, usually between 5 and 6. Some people eat later at home, so like the later seating on the ship.

There is some form of entertainment for adults open until at least 2 am most nights. I will look at some of my old navigators and see what they say on them.

Okay....

That's 2 for early.....

anyone else?
