Morning Everyone ​

I have a personal question to ask of you threadkillers.

If you don't want to answer it then that is fine but I got to wondering

I've been lurking around the boards today and a thread got me to thinking.

I'm Canadian so the idea is very foreign to me and I don't even think about it really when I'm in the United States but.......... do any of you carry a gun with you on a regular basis

Is it common among those you know to do so?

Robin, I meant to answer your question yesterday but life got in the way.


I don't know anyone around here that carry guns. Hubby use to own a glock before we got married. But he kept it in the car of all places. It is not allowed on the base and you are suppose to check it in at the gates but he never did. I did make him get rid of it. I'm afraid of guns!!

A few years back he tried to convince me into letting him get another one. But NO WAY is that gonna happen.

I'm back...Survivors over. Poor Ruth Marie is gone. I hated to see any of them go, I really like that tribe. DH and I are in a survivor pool. He has Sally so I was glad she didn't go yet, not until the final 4...we'll get some money back that way. I have Cerie...and right now she is kicking some butt!!!

I think they did the right thing by voting her off. She just seems so fragile and weak. Although they went about it all wrong. They shouldn't of made an aliance with her. Tsk Tsk!! But I'm glad the astronaunt kept his word, he's a good guy!
And the pilot dude.. man is he one tough cookie and smart too!!! Good Luck on your pool.

Earlier I posted that we didn't have any snow, well we have about 3 inches right now and it's still coming down. Good sticky stuff too. Maybe tomorrow should be snow sculpture day if it isn't too cold. A snow would be cute, don't you think?

J/K Sunny!!! If I was posting more, you'd know that I can usually close this place down EVERY night, WELL PAST 9:30!! With Robin's help.

We have been missing you lately tho...

TKs help!! I just don't know what to do about airfare! Betsy or Colleen, I think one of you mentioned 'group' fare, so I called United and AA and got $276/person at one and $499 at AA! So sure, $276 looks great, but I'm just not used to spending that much on airfare! Granted, it's not my money, but I don't want Mom & Dad feeling the pinch, ya know? I also hate to risk that the prices will go UP!!! I'm soooooo confused and scared. This is a group of 10 ya know. My cousin's family can find their own airfare.

Wish I could help you but I know nothing about airfares I've been trying to find some tickets to fly to AK to visit my parents.. but with 4 of us we just can't afford it.

Is ANYBODY here watching Dancing with the Stars?! I LOVE this show! My fave star got 2 perfect 30s tonight!!! I was impressed, as I always am, but kinda surprised his main competition scored as low as she did, she's been outstanding up until tonight. Hey, Drew is winning, that's all I care about! If you're NOT watching the show, ignore my babble.

Love that show!!! But I missed it lastnight... I can't believe I forgot to record it!!!! How did Stacy do????? I love Drew too but I also like Stacy!!! And I love watching Jerry perform.. he's so entertaining..

Kelly (8yoDD) was sick a couple days, started coughing on Sat, started running a fever on Mon (Holiday), and I had to keep her home Tues to be safe. Ruined her perfect attendance record. Health is more important than a paper certificate at year's end tho. But of course, we've had busy after-school schedules the past 2 days, and she's wiped out.

How is Kelly today? Hope she is better and back in school.

Dad's retirement party is tomorrow. While I'm thrilled for him (WDW here I come!), I do NOT see myself staying very long. Probably the ONLY female in a BAR with a BUNCH of dirty plumbers (I mean that in Every sense too! LOL They do new construction and, ehem, they can be potty-mouthed as well! ). Picture that, and then add alcohol! If I don't check in tomorrow night, switch the lurker mobile

Good Luck and try to have fun at the party! Although I don't know if that would be possible with all the Potty mouth plumbers

Cally set the rules and be firm (in my opinion he is looking for attention he never receives unless he's bad, so show him that postive behavior will get him more attention and the type of attention he will want)!

I will definately show him some positive behavior. Yesterday went good. He didn't have too many tantrums. He did put a toy in my hair and got it all tangled up. It's one of those toy airplanes and the propeller is like a mini fan so it spins(it's battery operated). Well he decided to spin it in my hair. My hair wrapped all around it and got stuck! I think he is amused by my hair because he's always trying to find some way to destroy it.

His dad picked him up a lil after 430 so Dante and DeVaughn were home a bit to give Elijah some company.

I noticed that Elijah got pretty hyper when the kids got together. But everything went good.

hey TKers....yup...its offical...i am so sick its not even funny.

I was making out with the toilet last night....then my dad found me passed out shaking on the bathroom floor....and started telling me that I looked like a drunk!!! (how rude!)

but I just checked the news. Its 625 called out today...and more will be sent home. Gah!

oh...its been discovered that is a stomach virus AND what they served in the cafe that day.....and the water foutains are carrying them.

UUUUh im going to go back to my sloth ways on the couch drinking gatorade 'cause it hurts to move.

Hope everybody has a good day and nobody gets what I have!

Yup Sunny, Kim and I can sometimes burn up the airways until the wee hours of the morning around here. Of course it helps that Kim is in a different time zone, that means she keeps me up WAY past my bedtime, but heck I don't care

Kim, I hope Kelly is doing better today. As for your question on flight prices. For our April 22 - May 1 flight from Detroit to Orlando we are paying $197.10 per person on AirTran. That was the cheapest flight we could find, with the most convenient departure times for our purposes. $297 DOES sound high. What are your travel dates again?

Cally, maybe you will have to keep your hair tied back while Elijah is there at least until you get him under control. You do have lovely hair, does his mom have shorter hair than yours.

Im not sure what Im doing today ...

We dont carry a gun
He would like me to carry one when I walk alone ...as its not common to see anyone at all the whole time we are walking and if I did come across anyone, or a wild animal or they me...I would not be able to find help from anyone out in the middle of nowhere.....but Im not sure I want to....I can see its a safety issue, and Im a very good shot, but....Im just not comfortable about it....I always say with my luck The person Im trying to protect myself from would end up getting it and shooting me with it (it WOULD help with an animal though)....But he says the gun is so a person like that wont get close enough to get to it or me...
I do love to shoot and guns do not bother me in the least...I have been around them my whole life...but Im a target shooter ...not a hunter....(most of my family are hunters)...If I hunt its with a camera....

It sounds like that little guy really needs someone, to spend some time with him...It sound like hes lonely...Good luck...you can do this! ...

I was checking for fight prices a couple of days ago and I found 259.00 from Binghamton NY to Orlando, round trip per person...best price I found....So yours seem to be about right...better even seeing your coming from your neck of the woods....
Now getting a good price for a rental is driving me nuts...I cant find anything less them 600.00 for 10 days ...for a compact.....Last year we only had to pay 300.00 for a full size ...same amount of days... hence the reason I was looking at air...But its a nogo from DH who hates to fly...even if its cheeper... which it didnt turn out to be If we includ a rental from Fla. for the week...( which was only 250.00)

The funny thing is the last person you would expect used to carry one and is quite the marksman!!! (I think around the expert area). She used to compete, is on this board and related to me!!!
