Its been very hot here today.....I was so glad to get out of town this afternoon.....it has to be a ten degree difference...as soon as I start going up the mountian...it starts to cool down....

Im not complaining mind you....Its better then too cold ...

I probably won't be on too long tonight because I am just exhausted for some reason today.

I found out today that one of our friends (the lady of the couple who cruised with us in January), has a very rare cancer with only a 5% survival rate if it is caught early Too bad that due to some dr screwup she has been walking around with this for a year and a half already without proper treatment

I don't know many details but it sure doesn't sound very good to me. She is only 40 years old too.

Im so sorry to here about your friend... ..

Hope you had a nice night with DH....and try not to work so hard.....

Well we are back to work on our house, after a long break....
We are finishing the siding in the back......then we are going to start our deck ...I cant wait to be able to go OUT of my sliding glass door ...instead of just looking out it.... ....
THEN!.....My wonderful DH is going to put a Hot tub out there for us ...We had one a bunch of years ago...but as all things it got old and stopped working ....I have missed our hot tub...We just love to go sit in it when its in the low 30s...and the snow is falling.... ...Its just sooo nice....

We also want to put in a pool(not built-in.)in the yard, but that can wait until next year.....the summers almost gone anyway....
Our pond is ......Just that a pond and not for swimmers if they are not wanting to swim with fish and frogs.....among other things....I have found that the younger GKs dont mind , but as they get older they start to... ...I myself , have to get pretty hot to go for a swim in it....BUT I have....and at the time it felt darn good too! A pool will be alot nicer..

I have yard and garden work to do today.....
What is everyone else up to?........No matter what it is I hope you have fun doing it! ....or you get through it quickly!

Just come back and play with us....(We miss your songs and stories)......Ill send you FOOD if you do! .....Im not saying it will be good food, but it will be food......I do have a woodchuck that is the size of a small dog...My son says he's gonna shoot it....It would make great McNuggets! ....Have you ever had woodchuck McNuggets?????.....If not you are in for a treat!
We have a new lurkermobile caretaker!.....and she doing a fine job I might add......Just spiffy ...Its always nice a clean and tuned up and ready to go......take a spin ....youll see!.....THANKS TN!

Ann, how are those curtains working for you? You know when we lived on base and Roger use to work nights we put tin foil on our windows to make it pitch black in our room. Crazy, huh? But it was common to see tin foil windows around the base. I refuse to put foil on our windows in this new house though so we had to get dark curtains. The blinds do not help much.

Robin, sorry to hear about your friend. That is very scary.


Betsy, are you hosting a summer end party? You should...with a new pool and hot tub and invite us all!!!

Cally - Tom is retired, so-yes-we do have access to bases. Have you been to that particular base? Is it nice? We can also pick a restaurant in the area to meet and have lunch! Ooh....Valdosta truly isn't that far away!

The curtains are working out fine. I like them a lot. They have that thick, rich look!

Robin - how are you holding up? I've been thinking of you.

DalPal - I'll throw in some free food if we can get BP back! I guess being fair season, he'll be missing for a bit. I agree with you, our lurkermobilekeeper is doing an outstanding job!

Kim - where have you been hiding? I know you only come out at night (again...my vampire theory) but I missed your posting last night!

Ophie - how'd the move go? You back on-line? Where's Tarzanman?

Tinknutt - sorry about interrupting your visit with your neighbor...it's my world famous timing coming to the forefront!

Well, I had a good day. Productive and the staff meeting was very nice. We talked a lot about our goals for the future and where we've been. Plus brought up current things....I guess we covered all the bases! It's a great company to work for - so I enjoyed it.

Tomorrow, I'm having lunch with my nephew (tinknutt's son). I'm really looking forward to it. He's a great guy!

Right now, I'm gonna watch some TV with my DH and enjoy a book. I'm reading a book right now that is VERY racy :insert blushing smilie: Oh, MY! I didn't realize that it was quite as racy as it is.....whew....is it hot in here?

Kim - where have you been hiding? I know you only come out at night (again...my vampire theory) but I missed your posting last night!

Not hiding, just busy I guess. (I thought we DISmissed the vampire theory when I posted middle of the day recently?)

Anyway, Sunday's family picnic was nice. Surprised that only about 70-80 showed up, but the weather may have kept some away. It's a shame tho, because altho it was hot, there was a breeze, and we were in the shade for almost all of the time, so it wasn't that bad. My own Mother, 2 brothers, SIL and niece & nephew didn't go, so it was just Dad and Kelly & I from our immediate family. Their loss. I did the egg toss with my Dad, and Kelly did the water balloon toss with PaPa. Naturally said items broke on Kelly & I! I also ALMOST won the money bingo game! 5 people won at once, we played a quick play-off, still 2 of us left, and I lost. I was gonna give the $34 back anyway, since it's for next year's picnic, and I found out later that the cousin of my Dad's who won, did the same thing anyway, which doesn't surprise me, she's very nice. Nice day.

My nephew is sleeping over again, tonight and tomorrow night, because we're going to Six Flags Great America/Hurricane Harbor Wed. Mostly HH because it's supposed to be in the 90s, with heat indexes (I guess it's indices actually ) in the 100s. Gonna NEED that water park tomorrow! We'll do GA I'm sure after the water park closes at 7pm.

Did I mention I have a stand-by jury duty summons for Monday? Can't call until after 5pm on Friday to see if I actually have to go on Monday tho, so I'm hanging on that right now.


Eek, I gotta go! These kids are gonna want to get going in about 8 hours!

Kim - you ARE busy! Sounds like the picnic was so much fun! You know, all my life - I've never been summoned for jury duty (I bet it'll be in TODAY's mail now that I've said it).

Robin - I've not finished the book yet, but HOLY COW! The hot flashes are a'comin!

I'm up early because I forgot to re-set the alarm from yesterday. I dropped the doggie off at grooming, went to b'fast AND went to work early yesterday. Today - I'm just goin' into work.....I can hardly keep my eyes open!

Good Morning all!

Not much planned today...except do the work I didnt get done yesterday because it was so darn HOT!......
I did get some of my plants replanted...and filled up a woochuck hole(I think)with stones and more dirt......we will see if it keeps him out or not......I have a funny feeling a few stones wont bother him though

I have been starting to plan our next trip for 2006, but I hear the prices are going up ...So I dont know if we will be able to swing the poly ...Not only a cost increase, but we will be going in REG season and not Value.... so its a double wammmy.....We will see....
It will be a shame if we cant. I just fell in love with the Poly ..
Maybe wilderness lodge????Oh well I have nine months to decide...

I am taking Liz and some friends to Paramount Canada's Wonderland in Toronto next week. That a 3 hour and a bit drive in each direction. It makes for a long day.

Sorry it's been a couple of days since I posted...Yesterday was busy day off, went to eye Dr. had a hip xray, and then to the gym, and got ready for our national night out block party. It was fun. Nice to meet a few more neighbors.

Ann, no problem with the call the neighbor across the street wanted to see all the changes we had done to the house, so I showed her the house (it was picked up), then went to her house which was immaculate (and she has two small children) Oh well immaculate doesn't fit my personality. How did Holly like the dark?

Princess C Valdosta isn't far at all. Still looking for a lunch date?

Cruisin sorry to hear about your friend. She'll be in my prayers.

Kim are you traveling to GA? How far is that for you? We are only a few more hours (5-6) from atlanta....have a spare room

You can make a countdown timer anytime you want, even if you are a newbee.

Make the countdown timer, highlight and copy it.

See up on the left where it says UserCP, go into Edit Signature (first option on the list) and paste it in the box.

Preview the signature to make sure it works right and then save it.

If you have any problems let me know and I will see if I can help you out.
