Good late morning! It's rained a lil this morning and now it's dark and cloudy. Kind of a gloomy day here today.

Is it my imagination or did the colours get brighter on here all of a sudden.

The smilies are a little funny too.

Tomorrow the boards go down for, I think 6 to 9 hours to switch to the new servers.

What will we do without the DISboards

I don't know about you guys but I know I'm gonna be REALLY REALLY bored tonight. I just might lose it....

I have Dreamgirls saved on my DVR. I still need to watch that. So maybe I'll watch that tonight. Anyone seen it?

Morning! Just a quick check in. It's my middle daughters birthday today and the dog's too so I have to change the ages in my siggie. I've been keeping up with all of you but just too darned busy to take the time to post!

I took off this week too. Got to slepp until 8 on Wednasday, haven't done that in ages!

I had a very nice lunch yesterday...My DN joined us befor she had to go back to Ca...So we had a very nice visit...
AND I made res. for NYE.. As my sister is going to have Mom visit so Mike and I can go out for a change....
We are not big drinkers...So we figured why not our fave restruant...AND then we find out that they are having a band and everything....So we will do the whole night there.... I just hope I can stay awake that long...LOL..Im just an oldster when it comes to staying up late....

Wow, sounds like it will be a fun night. Don't worry...with everyone around and the band playing YOU WILL make it til midnight I'm having the same problem myself these days... can't make it past 11.

Im with you about Christmas...I can wait a year befor we do it all again...Im just now starting to get everything back to normal...

I took the tree down Wed and it's sitting in the backyard now. There were one million and one needles everywhere! I'm surprised the vacuum didn't get clogged. All my decorations are tucked away in their boxes sitting next to the door. I just gotta put them in the attic but I'm being lazy. They been sitting there since Wednesday!

I am going to buy some of our WDW tickets... today ...As Im worried that they will go up after the first of the year...MY problem is ...Im not sure if we will need an AP...So I think Ill just get the 5 adult 9 day tickets, and if good room discounts come out...Ill upgrade one of them into a AP...and seeing as I can now buy my DDE card at GSs when I upgrade...
Any thoughts ???? or advice????

That sounds like a good plan Betsy~ I may have to do what you're doing next year.. but I thought I figured it out once and it still came out cheaper to just get the tix without the ap and go with the rack rates vs. getting the ap and getting room discounts... I'll have to do the math again. Maybe it's because there's only 4 of us.

are u doing it to get the DDE? We have yet to try that out.... I think we should though.


So what are everyone else's plans for NYE. Me and the kids don't have anything planned. Anyone want some company?

Morning....just a quick catch up before leaving for San Jose - going to Santana Row again for an 80-min massage at Burke Williams - preceeded by lunch at Lisa's Tea Room & followed by some shopping at Valley Fair...all this with a rotten cold! But hoping the massage helps as well as some time in the steam room....

Our Xmas tree & decorations are still up - tree is still taking water.....which is a GOOD thing! DD & DBF get home tomorrow night...so we're having Christmas with them on the 30th...won't take tree & decorations down till 31st or 1st....

hope you all have a terrific friday....will be home alone most of tonite as DH & DS need to be back in San Francisco for a 4:45 BB game so they won't get home till late....will have to find another DVD to watch...so far this wk i've watched Ocean's 13, Harry Potter & ORder of Phoenix; POTC I & III (not sure why i skipped II) Spiderman III...i think that's all...need to go see Sweeney Todd...I am Legend & Natl Treasure Book of Secrets...so may see those the next 3 days

I cashed in Mom's gift card at Disney today, she bought me new Mickey silverware (6 placesettings) at the Disney store. My MILs giftcard bought me a Christmas Mickey doll and a Captain Jack satin pillow and I bought John the Mickey head shaped wood cutting board (I broke his hitting him with it the other day )

The only reason I didn't get the napkin holder is cause I already have a silver set. If it's the black one I saw at the store it's pretty cool.

I got your NYears stuff too GP...I'm simply too lazy to add them to my sig~

John and I are definitely going to dinner and then a movie with Rose and hubby and her BIL and sil for New Years. I told John we needed three suggestions for Rose for what movie to see...I totally forgot about national treasure! Sweeney Todd and Alien v Predator are the other two he came up with.

morning all....yep a little lonely last night without the boys and the board did watch another movie....Live Free - Die Hard...it was good...i had watched part of it earlier this week but cold medicine wouldn't let me stay awake for all of it
my massage was okay....it was a lymphatic massage...but probably wouldn't have that one again...the mall was CRAZY busy so didn't get there...will have to go up this week maybe on the 1st....
DS is having some friends over later today to play video games i'm sure.....DH & i will probably just watch more TV
not sure of our NYE plans yet....maybe nothing depends on this darn cold....
hey Colleen...i have that satin Capt Jack pillow & the Will Turner one....got those as a BD gift....my son told my friend i'd rather have the pillows so i could say i've slept with Capt Jack

Morning all!

My poor middle DD (who I will mention by dis name for DU) WinniethePooh93 had planned all week that we would go ice skating on her birthday yesterday, got a terrible head cold. On top of that she has sports induces asthma so we couldn't go skating for her birthday! We did go out to lunch and then shopping at the mall with gift cards that the girls got for Christmas. Later we went to dinner at her favorite restaurant, it's a great Japanese place (DU your friend's would love it ).

We were going to have her birthday cake and ice cream when we got home. but she didn't want it. SHe went to bed at 8:30 and said that we'd have her cake today instead. Poor thing. Today all the girls are supposed to go to the movies with my BIL. He lives in Chicago and they only see him once a year. He's that wonderful sort of Uncle. He is single, no kids so he absolutely dotes on his neices. He blows into town, spoils them rotten for a week, and heads back to CHicago for a year. RIght now she says she feels to sick to go with them to the movies. SHe also is supposed to go to a teen New Years dance at the YMCA tonight and I bet she'll end up skipping that too. I think we jinxed her. Earlier in the week we were talking about how someone in the family is always sick on her birthday!

We'll go iceskating for her birthday next weekend instead, but it's more fun to do things on your actual birthday.

Would you believe I FINALLY had time to sit & chat last night...AND THE BOARDS WERE DOWN! (cant win)

for PD' middle DD. Its tough being sick on your Bday.

Speaking of Bday's. It was my friend Bob's BIG 50th the other day. Tommorrow night he is having a suprise party. It is my job to get him out of the house in the afternoon. Now he thinks his horseshoe buddies are coming over on Sunday night for a few beers...so the basement needs to be cleaned up. Which it is.

I am telling him that I will take him out to lunch & gambling for his Bday Sunday afternoon...IT IS MY ONLY CHANCE...until Valentines day...and if we go then the neighbors will talk .

HE WONT GO! he keeps telling me that he is busy, he has too clean the basement for Sunday night...(oh yeah i am invited too ) but I cant go, since james will be back from Brooklyn then. (james went to my sisters yesterday)

So now in a PANIC I called his wife...to MAKE him go with me. Sorta like I am at my wits end and NEED to get out NOW. However I am at my wits end...and he is part of the reason. Why his wife told him Sunday night to have his horseshoe friends over...I dunno....that was dumb!
