As soon as I came home I went online and applied for tickets to her show in NYC :woohoo:

can you believe hubby said he wouldn't go!!! that's ok. Both our kids volunteered to go with me, I know Rose'll go and I told DH I'll at minimum bring him home an autograph. ;)

Almost forgot this one

Cool!! :thumbsup2 I'll go with ya!

I applied to go to a taping of The Oprah show that she's having here in Macon. I haven't heard back so most likely I wasn't one of the chosen ones. It's going to be taped on Nov. 17.

O.M.G! How* could you have forgotten that one!

I told DD your niece is on my cutest babies ever list ::yes::

adding Minnie ears to that is priceless~

I know RRs site said they'd notify me within two weeks of the show.

:confused3

After we did the David Spade show in Cali Rose suggested we look for a taping in NYC to go to...I haven't told her I put her name in yet :ssst: :)

Feeling any better today?

:rotfl2: I grew up in the Midwest and DW cannot get over the fact that I call orange jello with shaved carrots "Salad," or lime jello with fruit cocktail "fruit salad!":woohoo: :lmao:
I think we're related. All desert foods in Utah contain some sort of gelatinous matter in it PLUS a fruit. :confused3
NYQUIL has the opposite effect on me!:confused3 Keeps me up at night.

Very cold here this a.m. It was 23. Maybe We'll shut out bedroom window soonish ( The ish is for UtahMama if she comes back). This was most definitely the "killing frost" this morning. ALl the plants have died. It's amazing that the flowers were still blooming here in November!
Ok, here's my secret smoothie recipe: NyQuil COUGH (not the regular kind) it doesn't have a decongestant in it to wake you up.

1. Open bottle
2. Chug (one swallow or you'll die) Or, you can measure out a dose, if you're a wussy
3. sleep

:upsidedow
Here's a funny discussion that I had with DDs yesterday afternoon!

THey were commenting on the fact that you need gum to get through the day at school. THis always amazes me as we were not allowed to chew gum at school. So I mentioned that if we were caught chewing gum at school, we would get detention.

They told me that was a ridiculous rule. They wanted to know why we couldn't chew gum, but were allowed to bring guns and knives to school and had a smoking lounge. It is amazing to think about this, but I grew up in avery rural area and most of the teachers and guys in HS hunted. They would hunt before and/or after school so would bring their rifles and hunting knives and keep them in their locker or in gun racks in their trucks. Never had any problems and never gave it a second thought. It was just a way of life I guess. The smoking lounge was a solution to foggy bathrooms where the smokers would go to sneak a cigarette. If you had a note from your parents you could smoke in the smoking lounge (really an outdoor patio off of our cafeteria). Also the drinking age was 18, so on our senior trip to QUebec, the chaperones were absolutely fine with us ordering wine or beer with our meals and having a huge mega party at the hotel with alcohol. THe chaperones weren't allowed to drink, but the kids were!

Can you imagine any of this happening today? But we we not allowed to chew gum!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: I graduated in 1980.
I grajiated in '85 but I was a California Valley Girl. NO gum, or any of the above. I think kids got expelled if they smoked on campus. i think this one kid got pregnant and went away for a while then came back 6 months later....

Well the kids done did it again!!! I'm as sick as a dawg!!! I wish I could just go back to sleep once the kids leave but I'm babysitting again.

SIL and BIL are in a real bind because grandma (which is SIL's MIL) started working (she use to watch the baby) so now they don't have anyone. BIL is going TDY again for 3wks. I'm suppose to be looking for a job. But I guess I can help out a bit..

Speaking of job I got my nursing license # in the mail yesterday  :yay:

I have a much better one...

1. Open NyQuil (must be cherry flavored!!)
2. carefully measure adult dosage
3. Put in large glass, add ice
4. mix in 2 oz RUM (hey, pirate!)
5. add Airborne tablets (for fizz!)
DRINK it all!!

In one hour, repeat steps 3, 4 and drink.

in one hour............zzzzzzzzzzzzz:cool2:

Now I have all these great recipes for making me pass out.... Are there any that will actually get rid of my cold? :upsidedow :teeth:

Colleen, I'm feeling better today...I keep taking the psuedoephedrine. It does wonders with the congestion and makes me lose my appetite AND feel :hyper: ! So I'll lose weight too :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

I like your pic from the 80's!! All my pics of Roger and I during high school are in Alaska! But I should be getting them soon.:3dglasses

I think I have a pic of Roger and I from before we got married in 1996. I'm going to go see if I can find it!
