If you FAX your room request to the Resort you are staying at...you will probably be granted it.

They ONLY time I ever got my request is when I faxed it. I want First floor, either pool or lake view...and the COLDEST room they have!

Some people even give precise room #'s!

Well, I've been busy. We had a great time visiting the grand kids in Orlando. They are so adorable. I've been busy getting the house back in order (the usual and unpacking, laundry...that sort of stuff). We hired a new lawn guy - our old landscapers were awful! DH's surgery is one week from today. Off to Eddie Bauer (returning some clothes for DH) and Williams Sonoma (need more gratin dishes). Tonight's dinner is Eggplant Gratin. I'll let you know how it goes!

Unfortunately I'll never have that vacation schedule again! I did think of your DH while we were enjoying many too many cranberry cordials in Cape Cod a few weeks ago! I'm glad he liked them.

ALso glad you had fun with the grand kids! Bet that wore you out! Good Luck to DH with his surgery. Dinner sounds delicious...I'm on my way!

Hello Threadkillers!

Getting ready to start dinner, but I thought I'd check in.

Robin - Tom has a hernia. It's not as bad as some, but not as light as others. At this point, he can't even open jars and is MORE than ready to have the surgery. He's looking at 10 days at home and 6-8 weeks of NO lifting at all. Also, I'm hoping to meet everyone in Disney in September....should be a blast!

DU - thanks for the information on faxing a room request. I'll keep that in the back of my mind next time we go.

PD - DH loved the cordials. I'm going to get more for him this fall...it seems right. I'll keep my fingers crossed for vacation plans!

16 hour total drives are nothing DU.

It takes 18-20 hours ONE way to get to WDW

We've survived quite a few of those.

The thing is that Rick is not much of a talker when he drives. He doesn't like the radio on either . So I put on my headphones and listen to my stuff and leave him to his silence.

Ann, I hope Tom feels much better after his surgery.

Liz had a hernia repaired when she was 11 months old. She was up and running the next day. Hardly even slowed her down at all.

Hopefully Tom's "advanced" years won't work against him

At least you are home now to take care of him during his recovery.

That is sooooo nice that you read to him AND that he likes you too....Dale wants the sports on - which is fine...i can listen to that but i usually read - sleep - watch a movie....anything to PASS time in a long drive...don't take too many of those....usually it's just our November trip to DL / Palm Springs we'll drive...since he has to take golf clubs etc....when i go to DL other times of the year - it's usually with friends and we GAB all the way there & back....women - we can talk forever

WEll, I have to take the Visio layout of the Server and compare it to the REAL server and make sure all the server addresses match up. And I must report the findings by tommorrow! I am done!

BTW Most dont.....Whoever did the Visios did not keep up with changes or just blantantly cut & pasted things!

Robin - I'm sorry to hear about your cat. I hope all goes well. I agree with your thoughts on care of your baby - I'd do the same.

DU - I'm not sure I know what you mean about faxing in your room request. Are you talking about at WDW? What did you do? Does it make a difference? Have a great time at WDW!

TW - good luck with the booth. I think you should sell water for $1 a pop. You might want to check that the other vendors don't have exclusive rights, tho. Stay cool and hydrated!

DalPal - It sounds like you've been busy. The movie that little girl was just recently in was "Little Miss Sunshine". It was an AWESOME movie! I'm glad you liked "No Reservations". I plan to see that one. I saw Ratatouie yesterday...a real good one....especially for a foodie like me!

CADZNY - I LIKE your vacation plans THIS year! My sisters and I do a girls only trip (no husbands or kids allowed) once a year and have a blast! We're doing historic Savannah this year. I hope we'll do WDW again next year - we're due.
