It isn't how well you sing - it's how much fun you have!

I will try to remember that when I am on the ship listening to Karaoke with the worst singers in the world!!!!!!!!

Last time there was this group of young people from Argentina. Wow were they having fun.......... sang absolutely horribly and everyone groaned when more of them would come up to sing ......... but they were having a blast. I think they just wanted the free shots of alcohol that they were passing out to people who were brave enough to sing

Ann, that is soooooooo true....the very first time we went to disney I had a video camera and was filming everything.... I still had a great time but I'm sure would of been even better if I wasn't worried about catching everything on film...

We've since bought a smal digital camera..I still take alot of pics but it's less of a burden because I don't have to lug the video camera around and the digital camera fits right in my pocket and so simple to use.....


Robin, will Mr. Simmons let you have a slice of pie?? You're welcome to some...

I am the only one who tells me what I can or cannot eat

I would love a piece of pumpkin pie but I am saving up all of my badness for when I go on the cruise ship . Cherries jubilee, strawberry shortcake, ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, yummy stuff (and normally I am not a dessert eater!)

Okay - Robin. You've got to karaoke on the Cruise! I bet the desserts there are magnificent!

Our son is getting ready to pick up the cake for HIS son's 1st birthday (our second DGS - such a cute boy!). Anyway his wife is a Cordon Bleu chef who did all her training in Paris. Well, she's a pastry and she freelances at this particular bakery. Well, the baby cakes start at about $300. Her wedding cake was amazing. It was HUGE about 4-5 feet high (it was a very large, very formal wedding)! Instead of frosting, it was covered in fudge. It also was large enough to accomodate whole sugared fruits. I'm not talking strawberries, I'm talking bunches of grapes, apples, oranges, persimmons - that sort of stuff. It was awesome. The best piece of cake I've ever had in my life! Anyway, I told him if we win the lottery tonight, we're headed out to the birthday party and to save a slice for us!

Does she ever! She makes truffles that will make you weep!

Unfortunately, I can't have any sugar any more......now THAT made me weep! At home she'll bake like I'll read. It relaxes her in the evening. And she doesn't make banana nut bread - she makes all those beautiful, complicated, restauranty things! She's even developed the dessert menu for two restaurants.........how cool is that!

You bet you can join! If I can't eat them - at least I can have someone describe every delightful, decadent detail to me!

Well, I went and made my cup o tea and I have returned.

No karaoke for me Ann, unun, no way, no how!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like you are in for some nice desserts of your own, Ann.

Yes the desserts are usually nice on the ship, along with all of the other food too I will do lots and lots of stair walking while I am there to work it off, I promise

I am not really a cheesecake lover, so I probably would not eat any, sorry, Cally. You will have to go and try it out for yourself

Ann, lucky duck you..... that is my weakness..... how do you stay away from sugar?

That wedding cake sounds wonderful Ann.

mmmmm, I checked out all of the snack stuff while I was upstairs but nothing really appeals so I opted for nothing for the moment. Just have to make do with my cup of tea I guess

Robin - I thought of you the other day - They are opening up a Cheesecake Factory in Jacksonville! It's a really great restaurant.....they don't JUST make cheesecake! I'm having a sugarfree peanut bar (double whammy at your house) and a Diet Coke for my snack!

Cally - I stay away from sugar because I'm a nutritionally controlled diabetic. Actually pre-diabetic......but with a BAD family/physical history. So, my doc said to shape up, or take insulin for the rest of my life......I decided I'd rather give up the sugar & carbs. Before that - NOTHING could have persuaded me to do that!

BTW, Robin if we get the Threadkillers together for a Jan2007 Cruise, you've GOT to karaoke! Whaddya say? I'll dance if you sing!

I have never been in one of those restaurants before. Sounds good though.

I just finished my tea so I am "good" for a few minutes at least!!

By then you just might be able to talk me into doing the karaoke. If the rest of you are crazy enough to do it, I could hide out in the background and join in

Wouldn't we just have a blast if we all could do that cruise together

Oh I see Ann, My grandmother and grandfather was diabetic. My grandfather had to take shots of insulin everyday. My grandmother on the other hand did not...we just had to check her blood everyday.

I'm still full from the slice of pumpkin pie I had. Guess it was a big slice.

lots of diabetics in my family too.

My dad, his brother (died of diabetic complications), his sister, my cousin (died at age 30 from diabetic complications), probably others that I have forgotten about by now.

My mom (borderline), her brother (borderline)!!!!!!!!!

I think that I am doomed

Yummmmm....the sugarfree peanut bar & diet coke are working for me!

Cruisin - you'd have SO much fun karaoke-ing! Once you start, it's like potato chips.......hard to stop!

Callie - I had two grandparents that were diabetics and one died from it. My mother was also a diabetic, she died very young, but not from that. I have all the ugly warning signs and the doc said I'll probably be a diabetic anyway, but the longer I can hold off......the better! The wonderful side effect is: I've lost a lot of weight! Feels good!

I am sure that I would have lots of fun just because I was hanging out with you . We would be the wild ones dancing up a storm every night in the clubs. Except you would have to stay up past your bedtime to have any fun

Losing weight is a great feeling of accomplishment isn't it??? Did you take any before and after pictures?

same here... I also have alot of high blood pressure running around in the family... my father, both sets of grandparents, my dh's father has high blood pressure and most of his sisters and brothers.....even dh had high blood pressure and is on meds for it... I on the other hand have a normal blood pressure.... hope it stays that way.... I dont know tho because my weight is not so good.....


Ann, how did you lose the weight??? I need tips... does it include exercising and no more sweets? LOL

Ann and Kim have inspired me to try and join them in their successful weight loss. I started 4 weeks ago and I have lost 9.6 pounds already (I was really hoping for 10 this morning but hey, tomorrow is another day )
