Who feels like a Thread-Killer? Part 2

HA: Thank you for the HP offer, but my daughter is a natural born pack rat & I discourage her from buying "dust collectors"...please don't take that wrong---

I have severe dust allergies and ask everyone in my house not to
buy knick knacks. When we go on vaca, I ask that they buy useable souveniers...clothing, kitchen gadgets, shot glasses, drinking glasses...ya know, useable.

This is for the tree Brer_Papa: In 2002, in MGM we bought the Glass ball ornaments that have the character hanging on them...my DS got Sorcerer Mickey on a huge blue ball and DD got the Cheshire Cat on a pink one.

and I looove to hang lights everywhere in and around the house-
leave up the drapery rods when you take down the curtains & I'll wrap my multi colored lights mixed into natural green garland around the rods. I'll help with the tree lights too if you like!

I also have lights on my light-post outside and my rose arbor leading to the back yard....I actually leave those up all year long. It looks so purdy;)

ooh! and how about a Minnie or Tink tree topper-they're on sale this week at Disneydirect!!

I'll not be doing a turkey avatar-I promise my family I won't decorate for Christmas until after TG day...so Monday you'll see reindeer Mickey!

KR: Walking Pneumonia!!! Wow, poor thing...but like you said-a proper diagnosis should get her the proper treatment so she can get better. :hug:

PC: Enjoy your trip, drive safe and have a great turkey day!

Cruisin: I forgot you have no Turkey Day!
I hope you have a good weekend...maybe you could make a turkey anyway and give thanks with us.:teeth:
I know what you mean about DD missing her BF...I'm dealing with that now having my son go with us and leaving his GF at home.

It'll do them good to be apart a little bit...they've been together a year on Friday. (He bought her the prettiest necklace)
I think this'll be the last time I get him to myself...one last hurrah!
(It may be selfish, but he was mine first!):mad:
JK

Black and White with a dial and a 6" screen
That's my bedroom tv! I am soooo sick of having to watch Desperate Housewives in black and white!
(Warning Tigger Tantrum!)
I want a remote control, color tv, with a sleep timer and a flat screen and I want it noooooww!
(ok-tantrum over):crazy:

DP: Hubby and I went to the grocery store last night to avoid the crowds...it worked out very well. I even overheard some "patting themselves on the back" for getting to the store before the crowds really hit.
The only things left on our list (they had no fresh herbs) are cilantro & basil.

You have one heck of a menu there girl...I am impressed.

and of course---

Brer_Papa: :angel:<<<

All that talk about touching and fiddling with knobs, I snickered for that one...but you "babysitting" our leftovers! That got a full blown, pepsi on the monitor rolling on the floor, laugh!!! There are no leftovers at our table;)

Have chair will travel? That'll get you a place at our table...come on over my friend.:wave2:

WC Fields: oh yeah, he was a true master at child rearing!;)
Child rear "kicking" maybe---

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm going to lunch now,
but I will be back before I sign off for the weekend...
;)
I have a cool Christmas Mickey Puppet (at least I think it is a puppet but it has a hardlining inside of it:confused: ). I have used that as a tree topper many times in the past.
TW - I have decided to be very strange this year and make use of my DIS downtime to put up the Christmas tree. There have been a few years lately that we have not even bothered at all. But for some reason this year I want to put it up. So that will be my weekend project.
I would also like to clear the garage a bit so my car will fit inside. I HATE scrapping windows and cleaning snow off the car.:crazy2:
As to separating the young "lovers" for a while you know the old saying .......... Absence makes the heart grow fonder ~~~~~~ or the other one ........... Absence makes the heart forget ;)
Yup, I have no guilt making her miss his birthday. If she wants to go on a Disney Cruise then she will have to leave when the car does :teeth:
I'll have my face in the Christmas decorations this weekend too! When my FIL moved in we merged decos-now I have 2 tons of ornaments instead of just one. This weekend I'll weed out some of the stuff we really don't need...(back to my dust issues)
I would also like to clear the garage a bit so my car will fit inside. I HATE scrapping windows and cleaning snow off the car.
Why do people do that? My parents had a garage for 8 years and NEVER had a car in it...go figure:rolleyes:
I think my two will only grow fonder. I hope so anyway, they are very good for each other...his grades have never been better, they both work, he cleans his room now more often than I clean my house;)
They've already planned a trip with my Mom to Disney together in July and she's coming with us when we go to the beach in NC for 2 weeks in August. They're not missing anything by being away from each other for 1 week...
I hate going away without my hubby & he's the same way.
But I believe it makes coming home to each other that much nicer!:teeth:
Well Phase 3 of my Christmas shopping is now complete...
I hope WS reads this....if not. I'll drop a hint.....
I did my version of "Black Friday"....
I call it "Green Wednesay"
I don't get up early.....but I do drive to the mall....and I drive by EVERY store....
it's exhausting.....but it's done...
whew!
HEY! Sounds like everyone so far is going to bring some G-R-E-A-T!! ornaments to the TK Tree!
HEY!! Wait a Minute!! Who hung the BINGO Dauber on the tree?????
Oh Ha Ha!!
I suspect HollyAnn!
hmmmm....maybe I should dust it for fingerprints.....
Cruisin'! :boat:.....let me look at your thumb......
hmmmmmm.......
btw....nutcase? again from you?
delete
:jumping1: nutcase?
delete delete.... :rotfl:
uh oh....gotta shine my halo.....
hmmm....nobody noticed the new drapes..... that's ok....
I got the ones with the holes for my binoculars and telescope already built in.......
if you didn't notice the drapes....the peep holes are safe.....
idle chit chat:
the Lurker Lady with the curlers in her hair has been following me around with 2 slices of bread in one hand and a ketchup bottle in the other since I mentioned meatloaf.....
You are right TiggerWannaBe....we need to put lights all around the room....
I have some "bubble" lights to add to the tree too.....
what do you guys think about some musical/lighted Disney snowglobes for the mantle?
OH!! Don't forget to bring your stockings to hang....
WHAT!?!?
You there....yes you...the Lady with the curlers in her hair.....not those kinds of stockings......we juggle those kinds.......
anyway....Stockings need to be hung by December 6th.....St. Nicholas Day!
You never know.....you might get some fruits and goodies if you've been good....
which....as you all know....I have been....VERY good!
btw...I called Santa.....just in case...
all of you gigglin' & snortin' kids are OK...
Santa said I was an "egger-onner"....
:invisible ink: I TOLD YOU HE READS OUR THREAD!! :/invisible ink:
he says if i say "knobs" one more time before Christmas....
UH OH! That better not count!
I didn't say it......i typed it.....that should hold up in "Elf Court"....
besides I wrote "I wil not be an "egger-onner" 500 times....that will count for a lot........
anyway....I am on double secret probation....
Santa watched "Animal House" I think........
So...... DalPal....ALL the leftovers???
Holy Rigatoni! How can I pass that up?
Pack your bags full of the leftovers and I'm on my way!
OK! going to go hang my 25 gallon stocking on the mantle now....
TW - No problem-o regarding dusty collectibles. In fact, if I was in your shoes, I'd have said the same thing! I'm a minimalist in regards to souveniers. When people are gift giving and they ask, "What do you collect?". I reply, "Nothing!". It's known far & wide in my family to NOT start any sort of collection for me. I'd rather go to the movies or eat out (especially b'fast........did you know I like to go out to b'fast?)
Always nice to get the shopping out of the way for turkey day. It's too bad you're not a neighbor.....I have a kitchen herb garden. Not just a small on either. This is a 2'x6' herb garden. I'll try to post a pic of it. We've decided to demolish it this spring and I'm going to buy big terracotta pots and do several herb pots. I have 2 pots with rosemary & mint, but I'll put basil, parsley, chives (I have a beautiful 4yo chive plant), cilantro, sage, oregano, thyme and probably a few others. It's fun! The garden is getting a little old and we'll probably build another one later on.
Cruisin - How cool! You're putting up a tree this year! I do love putting trees up.....I just don't like to take them down! However, it's worth the effort. We park my car in the garage. We used to park both cars in the garage all the time, but when hubby got a new truck - it's too long for the garage.
You're more than welcome to come for Thanksgiving dinner.....in fact, everyones welcome! Except, we're going out.....you'll be dining out! BrerPapa, I'm sure they'll let you bring your own chair!
Ya'll take care!
I am glad that you are getting your shopping done Brer_Papa. Did you see something for me?????? I am really easy to buy for.::yes:: I am just glad to get any present at all :teeth:
You don't like nutcase:confused: :confused: . Well at least I didn't call you old :tongue:
I don't have a stocking to hang :( . I have one at my mom's house but not here.
/
BP
I'd like to have the Nemo/Turtle snowglobe on the mantle-
if I line the mantle with lights, it doesn't have to BE a light up snow globe...right?:confused3
On December 6th, since we'll be in a room with no mantle, should we put our shoes outside the door for you, er um I mean, St Nick?
(That's what the kids did when St Nick visited them at school.)
HA
We do grow some herbs- parsley, dill, rosemary, onions & lavendar-DH kept asking me to pick up parsley and I had to keep reminding him he has some...lol.
(He and his Dad are actually the gardners.)
I must admit to being a collector, but I collect pins.
I don't even wear them, I keep them in a display case;)
........did you know I like to go out to b'fast?
yet another pepsi on the monitor rolling on the floor, moment.
you guys are too much...lol!
Not gone home yet TW????
Have a great weekend.
I would say we are going to miss you around here this weekend .......... but.......... we are going to miss everyone around here this weekend.:sad2:
Arrrrrggg, now I have the hiccups :mad: . Have you ever tried to control a computer mouse when you have the hiccups :faint:
Arrrrrggg, now I have the hiccups . Have you ever tried to control a computer mouse when you have the hiccups
No but I've tried to control a car while sneazing!
You should ask my husband about that one! (LOL)
I am going home very soon, hubby's already calling for me...
Happy Holiday and a good weekend to everyone!!!
~See y'all on Monday~
Buenos noches mi amigos!!!
:wave2:
Hi everyone!
Well, after days of threatening it.......we finally ate that Low-Carb pizza. I usually buy one every grocery trip and make it when I'm not in the mood to cook anything. It's okay, I like real pizza better, but this'll do.
TW, I know you won't read this til Monday, but have a great weekend!
Cruisin - I HATE getting the hiccups. When I get them it takes a long while to get rid of them. I don't have the polite little "hic" hiccups, I sound like a giant bullfrog! It's awful and they usually last around 30 minutes. If it happens in church, it's just time to go home! Glad you like to eat out......come on down! Although it's raining and supposed to be around 65 degrees tomorrow. Yucky weather.
BP, I have a stocking. I've actually got two. The sentimental one is when Tom and I first got married and we bought those cheap-o stockings where someone (usually with bad handwriting) writes your name with glue and then pours glitter all over it! The second one is a cute quilted one I hang up when I'm feeling my inner decorator.
BTW, lunch (mac & cheese) with Dad & DH was wonderful. I made a nice, healthy salad for myself, but it was good to see Dad eat two helpings. He's starting to eat more and it did my heart good. We enjoyed ourselves and his company very much!
Okay, signing off for now. Ya'll take care!
Ann, rainy and 65 degrees sounds a whole heck of a lot better than a chance of rain/snow and 33 degrees.
If I could I'd be there, for sure ::yes:: I suppose if I left now I could make it there in time for dinner. ;) Probably have to drive through some snow though to get there!!
I am glad that it sounds like your dad is doing better!!
Wow! What an eye-opener.....
I went to "Stocking-R-Us".....
guess what?
they DON'T sell Christmas stockings there....
so.... I immediately left 4 hours later...
I was supposed to look in the store windows?
uh oh......
You don't like nutcase:confused: :confused: . Well at least I didn't call you old :tongue:
uh huh....this time...
were you thinking "old" ? ::yes::
I don't have a stocking to hang :( . I have one at my mom's house but not here.
well....I have an extra one here....
It has "Goofy" on it.....
I suppose I could use the glue and glitter and put an "eh" after "Goofy" so we know it's you.....
:idea:
Of Course! It is still GREEN WEDNESDAY!
Whew.....all this shopping is tiring me out....
By my reckoning...I'll probably actually buy something....
on or about....
cipher cipher....carry the 1...
December 15th.....
Hello to all in cyberland! :wave:
My 'puter mouse died tonight, so I'm using a 'Mickey Mouse' mouse, literally. It was either that or Buzz Lightyear. :rolleyes: Neither have a rollie-thing tho, so I'm trying to get used to using the side scroll bars, and arrows. What a pain.
Thanks for all your good wishes for Kelly. She's still having the tummy issues, but that's all she had before. The meds are only taken twice a day, so she's only had 3 doses so far. Maybe tomorrow her tummy ache will go away.
My ornament contributions will be a plain, silver reflective ball, as these are hysterical when you put your face right up to them! :laughing: Go ahead, I know you're dying to do it! :p My second ornament would have to be a Cubs ornament. It was either that or Disney, and I figured anyone here could add a Disney ornament. :earsboy: I have a gazillion more ornaments, so if you need more, just holler! My prized ornaments are my Precious Moments ornaments. When I sold my entire PM statue collection, I held on to the ornaments. A little piece of a once-loved collection.
Like some of you here, I also grew up as my parents 'remote control'! LOL Now that I think about it, that dial WAS big, and noisy! :p
Sorry BP, I'm not cooking tomorrow. I'm bringing desserts tho, and there will be plenty of those leftover, as it's just 5 of us total at my parents. Kelly & I will meet at my FIL's house later.
Gobble, Gobble everyone!!!
I don'y get to drag my Shakespeare out too much....so thanks!
"methinks the Lady doth protest too much"
P. S. Your Angel needs a halo shine.....
I have been called Goofy before so I guess that would be all right :D
WHAT!?!?
Give me 2 minutes to re-brush up on my "rasslin' " holds.....
then...give me a name....
