:wave2: Everyone.

It looks like we might be leaving for PA, today.

The late afternoon and evening has opened up for us so we might take a few hours off of the trip by leaving this afternoon.

So if I do leave this afternoon I probably won't be back on until Tuesday some time.

Therefore while I am gone everyone continue on having fun :teeth:

Hollyann, if I sent out 10 cards some years that was lots!!!!!!

Of course I have signed up for the exchange here this year so I will be sending out a lot and hopefully receiving a lot too. Maybe it will get me more in the holiday spirit of things.

We are off :moped:

Maybe I will find a computer on the way to check in.

See y'all when I get back

Hi PC! Are we the only ones here tonight? :(

Miss ya already Robin! Safe travels.

Ann, C'mas cards already?! I mean, I decorate day after Turkey day, but my cards aren't done then! Wow, you're Good! :smooth:

I allowed DD to go to her make-up art class today, since she hasn't had a fever with the Motrin since yesterday, but Mommy instinct was right, I shouldn't have done it. :( A few hours after returning, her fever was back. :( Mine is still higher, but this isn't a competition. Motrin isn't working for me obviously.

I did manage to do 2 loads of laundry today, and earlier tonight DD started a throw-it-out, give-it-away project in her room, which only consists of the toy box so far (about 2/3 done), and I needed to 'assist' her for a while with her choices. ;) One garbage bag filled of trash, and one small bag for my niece/nephew. And I did manage to see to it that everyone ate, whether it was left-overs, or fast food for DD, they all ate, even me. ::yes:: Not too bad for someone with a 101º temp. I'm sure hoping I can get out tomorrow, I have some shopping to do!

Sooo, anyone else out there wanna join PC and myself for a bit? ;) Lurkers?? :teeth:

Ahoy Cruisin' :boat:

Bon Voyage!

PrincessaC

lovely children....gotta agree...

BLINK! they're grown up!

Hello HollyAnn! :cool1:

(How many cards do you think Ozzie & Harriet sent out?)

Hope all is well with your Dad....

118 cards? is that all?

that doesn't even cover all the family here....

confession: PA sends the cards....

DalPal :wave2:

thought I'd say hi.....

LuckyMommyx2!

Good luck on your football!

it's Game Day!

TiggerWannaBe... :wave2:

I figure I'm going to Delurk 1/2/05.....

watch for my debut.... :)

Hi Kim!

I hope you and your DD start feeling better....

and....ok! I'll join you and PC....

old saying: "better late than never..."

PSSSST! Hey Lurkers!

Cruisin' ! :boat: went on a trip...

nobody said I had to behave while she's gone! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Twas the morning before football

it was quiet at my place....

Having some cookes and coffee....

really filling my face.....

when much to my surprise...

I heard a bunch of noise....

so i ran from my table.....

to go check on my toys.....

I ran from my kitchen....

I was running so quick...

i fell on my keister...

I tripped on a pick-me-up-stick....

I skidded across the carpet...

slammed up against the wall....

someone stood over me....

he was someone quite tall....

first I heard "Ho HO HO" ..

then "are you all right Billy?"

he helped me up saying:

"You really looked silly"

"Hey, I'm OK Santa"....

I finally managed to say....

and being curious asked:

"wnat brings you this way?"

Santa answered so plainly...

But it was still a surprise....

and answered some questions.....

and opened my eyes.....

"when my day is done,

while TK-ers sleep in their beds...

I come to the DIS....

and I read all the threads..."

I was so awestruck at this....

that I had to blink twice...

Hoping what I'd written.....

didn't move me to naughty from nice...

Santa was laughing....

from the look on my face....

I knew then for sure..

I had kept my "nice' place...

"I see you made cookies...

so I've come to your home...."

then we had cookies and coffee....

and he taught me this poem...

Santa leaves you this message....

spread it far and wide....

Santa is always watching.....

there is nowhere to hide....

tell your kids to be good....

tell them not to fight....

and Santa will come visit....

on Christmas Eve Night!

BP,wave:
COOL!....You have a real talent here!.....I love this...can I copy it and print it out?
It should be YOUR christmas card!::yes:: To send to all the TKers.
I just wanted to say a quick Good Morning:wave2: to everyone...
Its the big family day so ....busy...busy.
Have a safe trip...Cruisin!...We will miss you!
Have a great day all,
Betsy

BP - Most excellent! I loved the poem! I think you should e-mail Pete Werner and have that made into a special post! Maybe you should copy-right it first! I still think YOU are Santa, but if not, maybe you're Donald Kringle and he's your brother Kris!

Cruisin - have a safe trip........check in if you can. I have to say, despite no admonishments to BP (unless you PM'd) he's behaving remarkably well.

Kim - you ain't better yet? If I had 101 fever, I'd be in bed and let everyone fend for themselves! If this lasts much longer, you should go visit the doc and see what's up! Take care!

DalPal - enjoy your day with family.....always a good time.

Well this morning DH and I went to b'fast (what?.........no surprise!?) and had a lovely time, as always. I've washed the dog and I'm currently washing sheets and blankies to have a nice, fresh bed. I didn't get to start on my Christmas Cards yet, but I'm hopeful for this afternoon.

Dinner is a low-carb, easy to make taco salad and we're set! I'm going to try to squeeze a visit in with Dad today. He was feeling better last night. The pain meds he's taking make him loopy, so he's easing up on them. DH is still not feeling himself with the sinus infection.

Well, I'll scoot. This isn't getting the sheets off the bed!

Well.....aren't you kind?

Thank you DalPal & HollyAnn.....
:worship: .....very nice words....thank you...

Look.....I write this stuff here for OUR enjoyment.....yours as well as mine....

If you want to print it....share it. ...you are welcome to do so...

I'm just glad if it causes a smile :) to anyone....

I did read it to some GK's...and to PA.... I warned them i kind of ripped off "Twas the Night Before Christmas"....

but....they smiled :) :) :) :)
....so...so did i.... :)

I hope your evenings are going well....I have to go check my racing and footbal leagues....see you later....

Well, Pittsburgh won! That made me happy.

Earlier, we visited my parents. Dad fell in the middle of the night on the way to the potty. Ordinarily, after surgery, we're concerned, but he had surgery on his back! So we're super concerned! He refused to call 911 or anyone. He & mom managed to get him squared away and they'll call the doctor tomorrow. He cut his head, probably could have used a stitch or two, both legs and an arm. And still yet...........he refused to call an ambulance! UGH........good thing we love him so much. The good news is - when we visited him, he seemed in pretty good shape. Now my Dad's 6'4", not a small man. There isn't any family (DH included) that tops 5'8" here! It's not easy lugging him up!

I'm currently working on my Christmas Card list. I always re-read the old cards and check that I have the current address. Well, I found a card from my DMIL. We lost her in January.......she was my best friend. I cried and cried. So, I took a break from the task, hugged & hugged DH and made taco salad for dinner (low-carb, of course!).

Anyway, I'm feeling MUCH better and ready to get started again. Anyone in the TK's interested in exchanging Christmas Cards? Like Cruisin (miss you!) just PM me.....I'd love it!

BP, I really did love your poem. Thank you for sharing your gift with the threadkillers.......we're SO lucky to have you!

Hello HollyAnn! :cool1:

( I bet Harriet started her Christmas cards in July.....she was President of the Ricky Fan Club I think)

Gee....sounds like a nasty spill your Dad took.....hope he's OK....

kind of glad they at least promised to call the Doctor tomorrow.....

he might be kind of sore and stiff tomorrow....hope not...

just had to lead off with Pittsburgh winning huh?

again from you?

aaaaaw......I know what you mean about seeing something from those we love who have passed on....

but....I always believed that a Holiday time....as well as any time....but a Holiday time...is the perfect time to remember them....

and memories made.... :cloud9:

PSSSST! Hey Lurkers!

who PM-d me about Pittsburgh winning?

you there.....the guy with his shirt on inside out....

yes.....you....

is your user name "wise_acre_2_U"?

you looked guilty when I asked....hmmmmmm

BrerPapa, you're good medicine! Thank for that lovely post. I couldn't agree more!

Dad seems to be doing okay. He fell at 1am, so if he's going to be (more) sore, it would have been today, I think. Anyway, he's not any worse than usual, but I'm glad that he's not taking the chance and calling the doc.

Yeah, I do like my Steelers. However, if they lose, you can start your post off with that...........deal?

Just finished the rough draft of the Christmas letter. We'll have if polished and printed in the next day or so.

Now............I'm gonna relax, sit back and read a trashy romance book! Do you suppose Harriet ever read those?

HEY! I forgot to tell you guys...

me and some GK's stopped Friday night and got the "Twice Upon A Christmas" CD....

so....we had soe apple cider and a snack...and watched it....

well...except for WishingStar's youngest...she fell asleep....

anyway....we enjoyed it....CUTE!

then Saturday morning....we watched it again....

and enjoyed it again!

I'd have to say "yes".....

It's a wonder she didn't get cast in a Hollywood movie in a Romantic Movie of the day....

she would have played her role well I think....

I have a job up at the Mall....

I thought was pretty neat....

But, I had to change my mind...

these kids aren't all that sweet....

One kid sat upon my lap...

He acted pretty weird....

once we got our picture snapped...

I found some candy in my beard...

another kid, she cried and cried....

so I told her what she'd get....

once we got our picture snapped....

I found my suit was wet.....

another kid...a boy this time...

he asked me for a doll....

I "HO HO HO'ed" at the thought...

he ran crying from the Mall....

another kid.... "she's an older one"...

I was thinking to myself....

she went and whispered in my ear...

"I have a crush upon your elf"

How much longer do I want this job?....

I don't really know.....

If the shoe store starts hiring...

I know that I would go...

2 great stories in one day, BP! What a treat! Enjoyed them both very much! :)

And yes, you have been Very well behaved. Maybe with no one (no names of course) around to egg you on, you're 'better'? ;) Maybe we're not challenging enough for you. ;)

Shoe store?? Are you sure that's a good idea, given your history? :p

Ann, I'm so very sorry to hear about your Dad's fall. :( I pray he isn't hurt too bad, and this won't effect his overall recovery. Maybe the Dr. can suggest something to your Dad about mid-night walks, i.e. nightlights, asking your Mom for help, something like that.

This morning, at 103º, I truly wished there was a doctor open. I thought of going tomorrow, but I think it's the flu, and they can't do anything for that, and I'd hate to spread this around even more. :(

 Ann. I know exactly how you feel, unfortunately. While looking through my C'mas closet for exchange items, I came across 2 C'mas cards that I bought after last C'mas, for "Our Grandparents". :sad1: I didn't even mention it to my husband.

I managed to make a pot roast tonight (very easy, so I could rest), for husband & DS, DD had pancakes, and I had chicken. I gotta close this restaurant-type business, at least until I'm feeling better.

Hope you all enjoyed your weekends!!

P.S. Bears won in OT! Go figure!

Hi Kim!

:) aaaaah.....I'd like to blame a nameless but wonderful egger-onner....

but....you are all guilty....

I've told you guys time and time again...

I am shy and innocent!

 :shy: :innocent: :halo:

:rotfl:

aaaaaw....that was a high temperature!

I hope you are feeling better ASAP!

maybe you should go to the doc.....even if it is just a flu.....

can't be too careful.....

OK! a blatant display of begging is about to happen....

close your eyes if you don't want to see it...well...anybody but Kim can close their eyes....

after all....free food may be involved....

POT ROAST??? YUM!

a fave-o-mine!!! ::yes::

any leftovers O Great Chef-ette?

Nothing! Sorry. :( Good thing DD & I ate something else!  I do have another pot roast in the freezer, so next time, you're ON the guest list, for sure! ;)

You may be right about the Dr., just to rule out anything else. Last time I had the flu, about 8 years ago I think, it was MUCH worse. :( All I could do then was move from the bed to the couch, NOTHING else, I swear, well except whisper & mumble some directions every now and then to keep some order in the house. This time I at least have a couple brief periods of time each day where I can get up and actually DO something. That's why I think it took me so long to 'think flu'.

Time for more Motrin, I'm getting achey again. I hope a high temp doesn't follow again. :(

Remember, next pot roast at my house! ::yes::

I meant to mention this before, but forgot momentarily. (that's me lately) My husband's brother, the Chicago cop, Air Force reservist, who served almost 3 years straight since 9/11, turning 54 next month, is having triple-bypass surgery on Tuesday. Thoughts, prayers and/or *pixie dust* (your preference), would be greatly appreciated. ::yes:: Thank you.

Good Morning!! Wow, it's freezing over here this morning! There's a white frost all over the grass!

Hope eveyone has a great day today!! :sunny:

KimRaye, best wishes for your dbil. I hope everything goes well.
