We did indeed make it to the fair!

About an hour and a half after i whined about the rain....the skies cleared....the sun came out ...and away we went.....

There was a lot of mud.....and some puddles big and small...but that wasn't even a minor annoyance!

NOPE! No Lurkers showed....me and some Grandkids waited at the gazebo....passing the time munching on sausages....gnawing on some buttr & garlic wings...gorging on butter & garlic fries...and slurping some waters...but alas, not a Lurker ID'ed themselves :(

We went into the Meadville Sportsman building....to see some critters...they had an 8 point ALBINO WhiteTail Buck....a very rare animal!

Kara, Corey & Sammy were thrilled!

Me and some GK's went to the circus tent while PA played B-I-N-G-O....we had a blast there too...

Oh well...more fairs ahead....maybe we'll get a lurker or 6 to come out of hiding at one of those fairs!

Hello HolyAnn!
(I wonder if Harriet would have accepted to go out on a date with me if her & Ozzie "were on a break" when I was single?)

Sounds like your songfest went well!

I hope your Sister gets the house....

Good Evening ZEN!

Careful Friend!

Once upon a time... I said "have all the fun you want"...now I've been called incorrigible 5 times this month...

(insert pity party here)

aaaah....but,you'll be OK....you're not as shy as me....

Hi KIM! :wave2:

I don't see where you said which movie you eventually picked...

Hopefully....you picked something other than the 2 cutesy-wootsie movies you mentioned...

a good "shoot 'em up" movie with a ruggedly handsome scruffy hero type with the big heart... ....or one that scares the bejesus outta ya....

(insert memory of going to a drive in featuring a movie so scary it scared the pants offa me)

anyway....it would be nice for us if you gave us a movie review...so....we know which ones we should see....or not....

Ahoy Cruisin' ! :boat:

Might I say....you have Beautiful Children? Thank you for the pictures....the kids are really gorgeous/handsome...

Easy to see why you are so proud!

You should have tried kissing a couple of the frogs and / or toads....

They don;t always turn into royalty you know....sometimes....they grant wishes and fortune!

Even with the currency exchange rate...it would have been worth a pucker-up or three.....

Of course, they could be aliens in disguise too....but hey! that's the chance you take....

too bad for me I'm allergic to frogs and / or toads.......

(insert me crossing my fingers behind my back here)....

or, I would be down at the pond gigging for that magic frog and / or toad myself!

PSSST! Hey Lurkers! Just in case you decide to seek your fortune down at the pond....remember we have some waterproof fur-lined waders at Squirrel Duds Inc.!

Even if you don't find a magic frog and / or toad...I'm told they are quite pleasnt to wear!

PLUS! If you have to share your bed with a bed-wetter....well...you can figure the rest out by yourslf.....

The waders come in all sizes...order now...order often!

 Brer_Papa. It sounds like you and the grandchildren had a great time.

I guess it pays to whine sometimes since that seemed to save you from the rain ;)

Just so as you know, my kids got their good looks from their mother (NOT!!!:p ).

Hey Kim, I saw most of Cold Mountain today. My husband watches movies all of the time but usually I don't watch them with him. This time I sat down and I think I caught most of that movie. I came in just before they were sitting in the church and war was declared.

What did I think about it ? Hmmm, I thought that it was pretty well done/acted etc. There was too much gore and brutality in it for me (had to shut my eyes a few times  ). Maybe there was a big sale on fake blood or something

The ending was kind of surprising too.

So what did you think of it?

 Ann, are you all tired out after your weekend of partying???

Wendy have you recovered from your dental work?

And just where are Kevin and Sarah :love2:

I forgot to mention...I saw "Cold Mountain"...goooo-ooooo-ooood movie...

I didn't close my eyes....

btw....that Nicole Kidman....is she

HOT!!!

or what?

....hmmm....who will be a weisenheimer and say "or what?"

eeny meeny miney mo.....

edit the "(NOT!!! :p)

or we will all say ~~~>

"PSHAW!!" at the same time....

:) :) :) :)

hmmmm....i wasn't being incorrigible either...so...that must mean I was corrigible?

Okay I will do it ................

OR WHAT??????????????????

Well, I must say we did get to see an awful lot of her didn't we:blush:

definition of corrigible ~ able to correct, capable of being corrected

hmmmm, now let me see, :earboy2: I am not sure that definite applies in this situation :p ;)

   :earseek: :( :headache: :sad2:  :badpc:  Translated: ARGH, DANG, RASS EM, FRASS EM, WHEN WILL I LEARN, DARN 'SERVER TOO BUSY' MESSAGES, RATS, #%*@!, SHOOT, I HATE, HATE, HATE LOSING AN ENTIRE POST!!!!!!

ARGH, IT DID IT TWICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TOO MANY IMAGES THIS TIME!(Thank goodness I copied first!)

There, I'm done.

Let's see what I remember, and care to re-type.

Glad to see almost everyone has made it back safely from their wild weekends! :wave2:

Ann, that sounds like such fun! :rockband: Is the sister that bid on the house, the one who lives furthest away? Will this put you all closer now? I hope so, you are a fun bunch of girls!

Sorry BP, I chose cutesy-wootsie last night. 13 going on 30. Liked the rental so much, I bought it. It's a female version of the movie 'Big", with Tom Hanks. Cute, very cute, imo.

I'm surprised you liked Cold Mountain tho, since they did sneak some romance in there (some?). ;) I liked the movie very much, didn't even notice the 2-1/2 hour length (I thought I'd get bored), but the acting was very good, and Renee Zellwegger DESERVED her Oscar for her role. I laughed as soon as she first stopped talking! However, I found it predictable, and I'm usually so naive about movie plots. I knew stuff before they showed it several times. Besides the fact that I just KNEW .......................................................**********************SPOILER ALERT***************************** he wouldn't die until after he got home. And Robin, I expected some brutality, given the Civil War, but the worst part for me was when the sheriff did what he did to the Mom, to get the sons to come out from hiding. :( And the grossest was when Jude Law are those bugs, or whatever they were.:crazy2: All in all, 3-1/2 stars from me. :sunny:

And BP, I've always thought Nicole Kidman was beautiful, but that Jude Law isn't too bad, either. ;)

:wave2:

copy first, copy first, copy first!!!

Hi everyone!

I am here. :teeth: And I don't know where Kevin is( I am telling the truth, I really do not know). Maybe he will come bye here tonight and say hi!

Brer_Papa, I just wanted to let you know that in real life I am very very very shy, but once you get me talking I never stop talking! LOL And I am getting a lot better at not being so shy, but it's hard!

:wave2: Wendy! Great pictures! Lovely to see you again! :sunny:

Sorry you had the same woes as me tonight! :(

Hi everyone!

Ya'll are having too much fun without me! I'm tired from sister's weekend - had a blast - HAVE a cold!

Next weekend is another (mini) sister's weekend. The one who lives furthest away is going to re-look at the house before making a counter offer with hubby - so she's coming and the sister who lives 45 minutes away is having a BBQ/Karaoke fest with some girlfriends - so guess where we're going?

Anyway, I've gotta get some sleep! Ya'll sound wonderful. I can't type anymore I'm too tired! Nighty, night ya'll!

Sounds like you have lots of fun times planned Ann.

Have a good rest.

Uhg! I've got either the flu or a cold! Yuk! My whole body aches, I sound like a croaking frog and my head feels like it's about to explode! I didn't walk today, I didn't volunteer today and I have about a zillion errands to run - that I'm not going to do today!

I probably won't post for a few days - I'm going back to bed!

Take care ya'll and don't catch my cyber germs!

I hope that you will be feeling better soon Ann. Too much partying and late nights with your sisters on the weekend????

Hi Everyone!

Wendy, great pictures! It looks like you all had a good time! Thanks for sharing them with us!

Hollyann, I am sorry you are not feeling well today. I hope you feel better soon( don't want to be sick on your birthday, that would not be fun).

Hello everyone!

 Sunshine

Sorry I haven't been around lately. I start back to work on Wednesday and have been trying to get myself into a "normal" sleep habit. I've also been reading alot. Fell behind on the novel I'm reading and am also taking this travel course. I'll be back more often once I get back in to the swing of things at work. Casinos are funky with scheduling, etc, so it takes awhile to adjust. :)

Kim, that sucks that you lost your post..lol.

Ann, I hope you feel better real soon...you may have to put your running shoes on again if Frances comes your way.

BP, Robin, MJ, Hello!

 for Sarah Sunshine

Hey....good to see everyone!

What is up with the DIS? I ran into the same troubles and just gave up....

after I lost a post....and with my hunt & peck typing...i said"YIKES!"

anyway....aaaaw...HollyAnn! Under the weather?

(Do you think Ozzie had Ricky take Harriet some chicken soup?)

Well....get better soon....have Tom keep an eye on your temperature...have him use a "smoochie-doo thermometer"...

and Mr, Mouse Fan gave sage advice....Frances is a-knockin'....
so....be sure to keep an eye on the weather channel..

you know...I was sitting here looking at my big toe....and it dawned on me...the leaves are changing color erly this year....and they're falling already...

I read today that the Farmer's Almanac is predicting a "wet & wild" winter for the NorthEast....

oh joy.....

hey & Hi MaMudDuck....thanks for the pics....wonderful! just lovely!
seems like there are cuties all around us....

Ahoy Cruisin' ! :boat:

How are you doing this fine late summer day? Remember a while back we talked about this month having a "blue moon"?
we are.

Best wishes on getting acclimated MMF....hope you get everything squared away soonest so you can hang out with us all...

Howdy ZEN....did you know I am so shy I make flowers blush? Clouds cry?

 well....i used to be that shy?

Top-o-the-evening to you Kim!

I was shocked that "RASS EM FRASS EM" got by the filter....last time i typed that it came out "**** ** ***** **" .....place must be a bit more progressive...

PSSST! Hey Lurkers! Tmorrow is the last day of the month....and the Lurker-Sweeper

:space:

is due for it's monthly oil change and interior vacuuming...as I remember....everyone who has a last name starting with a "P" has August duty....get busy....

:yo-yo: Evening everyone!!

I do remember talking about blue moons, Brer_Papa. So this will be one of those , once in a blue moon months!!!:p

Nothing too exciting going on around here.

Oh my brother in law from Cleveland, Ohio showed up at the shop today. I just happened to be at work for a change ;) . Today was his 50th birthday and also the day that his licence expired and he needed to renew it. He still has his Canadian licence so he had to come back to Canada and get his picture taken. We have to renew them once every 5 years. I was surprised to see him, he only stayed for about 40 minutes at our shop. Rick (my husband) had just left to go to the physio therapist so he didn't get to see his brother at all. He managed to call him at his parents before he left to go home to Ohio again.

Hmmm, Brer_Papa, how does looking at your toe remind you of leaves falling off the trees:confused:

Robin, did you have to ask? ;) :p

 everyone!!! Beautiful day here today, and I can even say that after working 5 hours at DDs school in the HOT kitchen, doing lunch helper duty today. :D

Well, I was doing a bit of running after school pick-ups today. Seems my Dear Dad was trying to reach me this morning (VERY unusual), and it turns out he wants to get my Mom a cockatiel for her BD......TOMORROW!! Which means, of course, that he wants ME to get it. YIKES! Thanks for all the notice Dad! So anyway, I go to Petsmart, and find that the closest one has moved. Sooo, I head to that one, where, after asking for some help, a very helpful young man answered all my questions, and just offered a ton of advice that this non-bird owner needed. They wouldn't 'hold' the one I wanted unfortunately, and I couldn't call my Dad to discuss details (he was calling me later at home at a predetermined time, from a 'secret' location - away from Mom), but they said I could come back tonight, buy the bird and the cage, and they would babysit the bird overnight...Perfect!! Or so I thought. :( Dad already has a cage, so he doesn't need to buy their $90 cage, and there goes the baby-sitting arrangement. :( I was only concerned because there were 3 birds, 2 gray and 1 that was mostly green with some gray....I wanted the green one. (Are ya still with me....do ya even care? - LOL) Soooo anyway, Dad is gonna somehow sneak the cage out of the house and go get the bird himself after work tomorrow (as he should). ;) Had enough?

For those of you with a funny bone (don't mean to offend anyone here), when my brother heard all this, he said to be sure that I flipped my Dad the bir..... (got it?) ;)

And the same brother tells me he bought my Mom GOLF CLUBS!!! It'll be 8/31 tomorrow.......WHAT was he thinking?!?! (Do you FOREsee the future of this BIRDIE if Mom practices golf in the house over the winter?!) :earseek: (Ok, I must admit, that even I did NOT see those clever little tie-ins until I was typing!) :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: I cracked myself up!!

Hope you all have had as interesting a day as I have!:sunny: :teeth: with a little
