No desk yet. I had it narrowed down to 2 desks but now I think I have to go back and look again. I was looking at L shaped computer style desks,no drawers etc. I think that I probably should have something with some sort of storage to hold my paperwork, pens etc. Only problem is those kind are a lot more expensive. Oh well, it's only money right????

TW, you must be getting very excited. I know that I am and I still have a little ways to go yet.

PC That is too bad that your husband will be gone twice as long as expected. I hope for your sake the time passes quickly.

okay regarding the new boards....... did we lose the search function? and I noticed that the post count does not change unless you post on a new thread...is that right? so the posts that we post on the same thread does not count? just curious...

No that is not true. It changes with every post that you make. It doesn't matter where you post it.

Right now I am using one of those old metal "teacher" desks, you know the kind I mean.

I know exactly what you mean Im sitting at one right now...I got two a few years ago for $10 each..I am using one here in my den and one in the barn for my horse junk.
On the DGD front....Thank you...I have been working on putting two pics of the DGC in my sig...I have had a heck of a time but I DID IT!

PrincessaC, when my DH went away, it was tough. I know what you're going through. He was in Iraq War I. Missed him terribly........know you've got friends to turn to and use the resources the base offers!

TW, you're gonna have such a great time in WDW! I imagine the decorations are beautiful! I went to Disneyland in September many years ago (about 8 years ago) and they were filming the Disney Christmas Commercials, so they had all of Main Street USA decorated for Christmas in September........it was way cool!

Cruisin, don't think of your desk as old.........it's vintage, baby! We used to have one of them, too. I think everyone - at one point in their life - has had the metal desk! Maybe there's only a few dozen and they pass from person to person! Before you get rid of it, carve your name on the inside. Maybe years from now, someone will look you up and ask the "story" of the desk for a made for TV movie!

Ooh, I made a yummy dinner. I made lasagna. However, since I'm low-carb, I can't have pasta. So...........I baked eggplant slices and used them instead. Yum, yumm!!!

I don't think we will be getting rid of my desk. We are planning on expanding our business, putting an addition on the building probably. The desk will be useful somewhere in the future I am sure. It is virtually indestructable so it will be good for a foreman's desk or something like that.

I tried to post a pm earlier and it too just disappeared . Very annoying!!

I have started to put up the Christmas tree and have had plenty o' help from my little Mischief kitty. She has never seen a Christmas tree before and doesn't really know what to think of it.

This year might be even funnier with the cat, who believes that every item is the world is hers to play with

I have a cool Mickey Tree topper though. I already took a picture of the tree with just the lights and the Mickey topper on it.

Hollyanne, your dinner sounds very YUM YUM... We had chinese tonight...it wasn't very good... We also looked at a house today. We're thinking it's time to buy a home of our own. Living on base is not so great anymore.

Yes I am sure that I will find tree ornaments everywhere.

This is the first time she has seen a Christmas tree in our house, since she is only just turned 2 and last year we didn't have a tree and the year before we got her on Jan 11.

She has already been chewing on the branches, silly cat!!
