Nope.... :) :) :) drive-ins were closed for the winter back then......

besides....you know how shy I am.... :earseek:

{insert chuckle here}

dang...even I can't keep a straight face when I say I'm shy....

OK!...a question...

did you....or did you ever see...anybody sneaking people into a drive-in?

one night...I'm at the drive-in.... with a date mind you.......in a 1963 Impala

well...here comes my brother...in his 1964 Impala convertible...by himself...
...the top is down.....

he sees me...starts waving and yelling "HI BILLY!"....and in hs zest...hits a speaker pole...

he backs up....gets the car parked...gets out...and opens his trunk....

SIX people get out....( i bet they were...uhmmmm....cozy...)

well....they were so noisy...and he did hit the pole...they got busted...

the kit and caboodle came over to my car asking for the money to pay the admission....

what can a big brother do?

I lent them the money....

I whomped him later at home....

so....do you have a similar story?

She seemed quite IN the spirit in her posts, I hope that's a good sign. Naturally, reality is gonna make her sad tho. :( I'm glad your MIL has such a great support, and vice versa. :grouphug:

You're a good kid KimRaye of Chicago...

a real sweetie...and a great friend...

you, as well as other friends here, have been a great support as well...

Oh my, you guys were up really LATE last night Brer_Papa and KimRaye.

Don't you people ever sleep :p I was tired so I went to bed about 1:30 last night (this morning!)

I never had that much fun at the drive in!! My husband (then boyfriend) said he paid to see the movie, he was gonna watch the movie   He was a stick in the mud, even back then :p

Today is a holiday here, so I don't have to look for the mail or all of my exchange parcels I am expecting!!! My daughter has to dance at our local Canada Day celebration in the downtown park at the bandshell stage. Then tomorrow she has to dance at a neighbouring town's 150th anniversary bash, so I will be busy taxiing her around the countryside.

She is 17 but has shown no desire to get her license yet. I know why, because mom has a bigger wallet than she does, and if I drive her places then she gets me to pay for things for her ;)

Have a good day everyone. :wave2:

Good morning! It sounds like you guys had fun at the drive in's when you were kids. The only time I went was with my folks or with my husband. However, my hubby said they used to stuff the trunk full of people all the time!

Hope ya'll have a great morning. Hubby and I are going out soon for a joy ride. We live in northern Florida and have decided to have lunch somewhere in Georgia! It should be fun. Nothin' like cruisin' with your best buddy.

Ya'll take care and have a great day!

Have a nice drive and lunch in Georgia, Hollyann!!!

hhmmmm, where will you eat?

Georgia, silly!

So, how is everyone this fine, fine evening?!?! I went to the Cubs game today, which they won in the 10th inning, but I was coming out of the bathroom when Sammy Sosa hit the game-winning, game-ending home run. :o :( :o Well, at least they won!! I saw the replay on the news when I got home.

"Break a leg" to Robin's DD! :sunny:

hmm, Kim, next time you better time your bathroom breaks better. ;) How come we always miss the good stuff.

Now I wonder, where did Hollyann and hubby eat anyways :p  Wait I know....Georgia!!!!!

Honestly Robin, I thought I timed it perfectly. The other team still had 2 outs to go and then we were coming up to bat. Sammy hit the first pitch out of the park.

The last 2 games I attended, they lost, so maybe I should just sit in the bathroom for all the games, and they'll win.

 KIm!
And Prior pitched very well from what I saw on ESPN....
....were the beers catching up with you?

Ahoy Cruisin' ! :boat:

Seems like somebody said "Road Trip" and people started heading to Georgia...
I wonder what they had good for lunch

We ate (in Georgia) at Applebees. I know not too much imagination. We bought some powerball tickets (the prize is $200M). We had the worst waitress in history! But the drive was nice and we had a good time. We're headed off to bed - both of us are reading real page turners.....so night ya'll!

Next time we're in GA, we know of a great Greek restaurant on the water, which should have been our first choice, or the old standby in the south...........BBQ!

HEY HOLLYANN! :wave2:

Thanks for the update.....glad you had a nice trip!

Sleep well :cloud9: !

Hollyann, ummm, if you happen to win with that lottery ticket you bought, ummm,, remember all of your nice new friends on the thread killers thread ;)

Kim, next time tell the people at the gate you don't really need a ticket. Tell them you are only going to sit in the bathroom ::yes::
You never know, it might work :teeth:

Hi Brer_Papa, :wave2: I'd like to head for Georgia, at least it is in the right direction to get to WDW!

Applebee's?!?! Don't they have those in FL?? ;)

Robin, NOW we know where she ate. ;)

BP, I drank only water, thank you very much. LOTS of water. :drinking: Prior did much better this time. Last month when I saw him, he only lasted 2-2/3 innings. :( Baker was the one that almost lost today's game tho. He took Prior out and the first reliever walked a guy, next reliever gave up the 3 run homer that tied the game. Surely, Prior could have done that himself.

I almost forgot to say....

HAPPY CANADA DAY!!

REALLY?

WGN has only shown fans in the stands with a beer......never saw one with water....

But i suppose it could happen....

We have some Applebee's in Canada now too. Not where I live but about 1 hour away and I think in Toronto I saw some too???

Thanks, Brer_Papa for the Happy Canada Day greetings. It was a pretty good day. The sun was shining, the temperature was great, the dancing in the park went well. All in all a good day was had.

I am afraid that we are not very imaginative BBQ'rs. We just throw the meat on and let it cook. :p

Silly BP, of course it can happen. DSIL is pregnant and, trust me, she was drinking water right along with me. DD & Dniece drank pink lemonade and lemonade. Now, baby bro, on the other hand.......well, he didn't drink water. And, they don't televise the cheap seats. ;)
