Who Else Is With Me...

Well the Sens lived up to their record of losing game 2 after winning game 1. They also helped Fleury post a win after never having won his next start after being pulled from a game so Cindy got teh better of the Sens today and I have a feeling in 4 more games the Sens will be joining the Laffers and the HABS in a golf tourney.

Just bumping for tonight's game. I hope we give them another spanking like we did on Sunday!

As a side note, Crosby is one of my favourite players, but I have to say that his constant beaking at the refs is getting old. Everytime you see him his lips are moving...I think he may deserve being called a whiner after all!

I always have a little smile on my face when someone mentions that the Sens "choke" in the playoffs.

I mean, only one team can win the Cup...does that mean just because Ottawa is always a playoff contender that when they lose, it means they choked?

It's always from some bitter non-Ottawa fan, upset that the team they cheer for hasn't made the playoffs this year or as consistently as the Sens.

And I agree with FayeW, I would hardly classify last year's playoff departure a "choke". Buffalo was and is also this year a great team. If they don't win the cup, does that mean they "choked" as well?

I have no idea who is going to win this year, however, Alfredsson seems to silencing the critics so far...he is playing the best hockey I have seen him play in a long time. The lads are really playing well, so let's just cheer them on!:cheer2: :cheer2:

Your post about Crosby is exactly why many many people on teh HABS forum and many other forums call him CINDY he whines more than a teenaged girl. No offense to the teenaged girls in the audience LOL.

Actually regarding the part about Buffalo I would have to say if they don't win it this year after the regular season they had even winning through all teh injuries etc then yes the team as a whole did CHOKE. Choking isn't something left all up to the Sens they do quite a bit of it themselves but as far as the Sabres after wht they accomplished this season anything less than a cup win would be considered choking.

I love this clip on TSN
HISTORY LESSON (re the SENS)
With so many post-season failures behind them, so many disappointing swings in momentum and breakdowns in confidence, the Ottawa Senators understand they should never feel comfortable with any Stanley Cup playoffs series lead. The bad memories are too recent and their flops too frequent for them to disregard their past - even as they take a 2-1 lead into Game 4 of their first-round series against Pittsburgh on Tuesday night.

While I respect your opinion, I disagree.

It seems that lately, anyone who wins the President's Trophy as the team with best record in the NHL, doesn't win the Stanley Cup. I believe it's referred to as "the President's curse".

The NHL playoffs are a grueling affair. My definition of choke is a strong contender losing 4 games and being swept. Taking a team to game seven in divisional or conference championships and losing by one goal is hardly a choke.

Anyway, let's play that wait and see game. So far, only Calgary looks like they may be swept. Which is too bad, I though they could do some damage against Detroit. Here's hoping they get it together at home.

Isn't it a little bit of an oxymoron to use the words "post-season" and "failure" in the same sentence? As far as I am concerned making it to the playoffs at all is a success!

I guarantee that both the Leafs and the Habs would be overjoyed to have the chance to "fail" or "choke" in the post-season this year!

On a completely personal level I am so tired about hearing about the Sens history in the playoffs. We have alot of great new players that are making a difference to this team (Comrie, McAmmond, Preissing). As Bryan Murray says, this is a completely different team than a year ago.

Faye I am sure the HABS would have loved to be in the post season and after the 1st half of the season and only trailing the Sabres by 4 points for 1st overall the HABS choked in the second half and didn't deserve to make the post season it was one of the WORST choke jobs I have seen from them in a long long time. As for teh being tired of hearing about the PAST choke jobs the Sens have produced well it will always come up as they have choked each and every year in the post season. Especially all those series against the LAFFS and with Lalime in net and they the Hasek blunder the team is destined to be labeled forever or until they win a cup as post season chokers.

Well that was a nail-biter! I think I may have broken out in a sweat there in the last 3 mins!

Emery was outstanding tonight, and so was Comrie. I really thought Comrie should have been one of the 3 stars tonight. (Guess I should have gotten off my wallet and voted for him!)

Lets hope they win this thing at home on Thursday!

Poor Cindy whining to the refs again you know maybe if the kid got off his rear end and stayed on his skates a little more people would take him seriously he is the Dominic Hasek of the forewards for crying out loud. I did love Emery coming out to give him what for that was a great highlight and should have been the highlight of the night as far as I am concerned. So what did the score end up tonight I just saw highlights here and there and last Isaw was 2-1. You know I wish both teams in this series could lose LOL.

Well, the sign of a great team is one that can win despite not playing their best.

GO SENS GO!

What a decisive series clincher! The Sens are playing so well...I am so proud of them!
