Who else is tired of seeing DVC studios compared to All Stars?

I don't really think the original intent of this post is to trash the AS. Before chris1gill posted this, I too thought the same so there are at least 2 of us on the board here that have read threads where people have asked this question. I would assume that the majority of people that stay there are there because they are $99 in the high season. I don't think there many people that go there just for the music/sports/movies theme. Also if you notice that many people have complained about noisy cheerleaders or whoever that equated to a bus load of school age kids. Schools are here because the can't sell enough wrapping paper or candy bars to take the band and cheerleaders to the Poly. So I don't think that anyone is "trashing" the AS and I do think they have a purpose, to get more people to stay onsite. I also disagree that there would be more people at the other onsite resorts if AS didn't exist. They would be offsite on International drive where the Best Western is $69 a night and has a go cart track across the street. My ex MIL would fit into this roup nicely. She would take a cooler of bread and eat pb&j sandwiches for a week and be happy at the AS. She can't see the difference in a Western Sizzlin steak and Longhorn or Outback. It doesn't make her a bad person, she's just more value oriented. And if these are the only places you've stayed, it's hard to understand why anyone would plunk down $12k+ to stay at Disney, until, you walk into a 1br at OKW and get the "WOW FACTOR!" :)

MB,

I don't think the intent was to trash it either. But you even made a follow up comment to this quote by Nuthut:

The all-stars are so far away, are they even on Disney property?

All-stars equals 24 hours of noise a day, six-eight people in every one of those tiny rooms. Children running around all hours of the day/night. Mass confusion all over the resort and over loaded buses. Long check in lines, so long they use turnstiles like at Space Mountain.

No comparison to DVC except for persons who do not know bettter.......

I don't think that is completely accurate, but, let's just keep it light. :bounce: I don't want to turn this into a debate board.

AS is a fine resort, especially for the price (but no comparison):)

The emotional factor starts to set in with some posts I have read here. We are new to DVC, so new that we havent seen our home resort at WLV or been close to any other DVC resorts for that matter.
My point, we have stayed at All Star Sports twice and had some of our fondest memories of WDW created there, in fact it was beneficial in helping us decide on DVC. I guess with all the great posts I have seen in this forum this one dissapoints me just a little. If I werent staying at a DVC resort in the future I would definitely stay at one of the all stars. We know that we want to continue vacationing at WDW annually but the kids will be teens soon so it made sense they will soon need their space, one reason to join DVC.
I saw the reference to Motel 6, and there is no comparison, we recently stayed at a very nice Ramada in historic VA and were dissapointed, Allstars so much nicer.
I am just a good ol boy who got just a little offended at belonging in some exclusive club that I didnt know existed. My advice if someone is thinking about staying at allstars, go ahead because it really is a great place.
Didnt mean to ruffle feathers, just felt someone needed to defend just a little.
