I don't really think the original intent of this post is to trash the AS. Before chris1gill posted this, I too thought the same so there are at least 2 of us on the board here that have read threads where people have asked this question. I would assume that the majority of people that stay there are there because they are $99 in the high season. I don't think there many people that go there just for the music/sports/movies theme. Also if you notice that many people have complained about noisy cheerleaders or whoever that equated to a bus load of school age kids. Schools are here because the can't sell enough wrapping paper or candy bars to take the band and cheerleaders to the Poly. So I don't think that anyone is "trashing" the AS and I do think they have a purpose, to get more people to stay onsite. I also disagree that there would be more people at the other onsite resorts if AS didn't exist. They would be offsite on International drive where the Best Western is $69 a night and has a go cart track across the street. My ex MIL would fit into this roup nicely. She would take a cooler of bread and eat pb&j sandwiches for a week and be happy at the AS. She can't see the difference in a Western Sizzlin steak and Longhorn or Outback. It doesn't make her a bad person, she's just more value oriented. And if these are the only places you've stayed, it's hard to understand why anyone would plunk down $12k+ to stay at Disney, until, you walk into a 1br at OKW and get the "WOW FACTOR!"
