Who else is glad they do NOT have a trip planned right now?

I never thought I would say this, but I really am glad I don't have an upcoming trip planned. I feel bad for those who get to be the guinea pigs for the FP+ mess.
We haven't been since 2011 and I'm really wanting to go again, but I'm definitely waiting until the testing is done and things have stabilized.
Actually, I'm thinking maybe a Universal/Sea World trip later this year and hold off on Disney until 2015. Yes, I know Universal doesn't have free Express, but at least I already know how everything works there and how to make it work for us.

Oh, to be at Disney right now. Have three trips in the works though. Flower and Garden Festival, Star Wars Weekend, and Food and Wine. Will probably make it up more often than that but those are the three I know for sure. :thumbsup2

If you are planning a trip right now, you have no way of knowing whether tiering will be in place at MK and AK during your trip. That's one of the uncertainties that would bother me if I was planning a trip.

Yes, off site guests are essentially doing the same thing as before. The difference is that before, if you arrived at the park at opening, 100% of the FP slots were available and now, a large number of those spots are already taken due to pre-booking.

So far off site guests as from reports from different disney fan sites have been doing fine. Yes they are a bit confused at first but there have been slots open for them. It is a slow Time in WDW right now so that probably has an affect. A real test will be spring break crowds. I think at MK it would be harder to tier so I don't think they are going to do it there. They have so many headliners. While you could do it AK because of the lack of attractions. DHS and epcot are almost perfect for tiering. You and I and the rest of the people on these boards have an advantage tho because we get that news faster we know what is going on because its reported on these websites. The outside people aren't going to know those things.

I think some of the posters here could use a little Pixie Dust just in general. Jeez.

Id love to have three trips planned I only have one.

Sooooooooooooo anyone still out there who is glad they don't have a trip planned right now?

Seriously guys, enough with the personal bickering. Can't we all just bicker about FP+? ;)

Amen!

As for being on topic...as someone who would be offsite and thus very up in the air as to what the rules will be, I'm glad we're not going over spring break this year.

Of course I always love being at Disney, regardless, but the constant changes aren't something I'm interested in dealing with at this point.

We are letting the dust settle before returning. Last 2 trips just didnt feel right. Whether it is due to the changes, we are (gasp!) disney'd out, or the kids are just getting older.
So we decided we are taking a break from the main parks and just doing a relaxing vacation at the waterparks and hitting Legoland before the kids are to old to do it.

Kids are looking forward to sleeping in. DH is looking forward to not feeling exhausted at the end of his vacation. Me, I am looking forward to sitting my fat behind in a tube and just floating my day away :rotfl:

I will admit, we do know how hard it is going to be to not be able to just pop into a park and ride our favorite things :)

Just saw reports on twitter saying that by January 23rd all four parks will be on fp+. Legacy fp will be gone for everyone. Disney is starting to really push this.

I've seen negative posts on this board (big surprise as it is DISBoards). But, I've seen many positive reviews. Was supposed to go this week but had to have surgery so our trip is now in May. We are looking forward to it but also looking forward to a different vacation in the Caribbean next year. Not because of FP+/MB but because we want to start exploring other places.

I'm amazed by how worked up everyone is over FP+. But then, we usually travel during a quiet time.

Over the past 5 years we have made 12 trips to Disney covering 19 weeks. We have stayed at AoA, POP, SOG, FW, BWI, POR, POFQ and some offsite trips. Our APs expire in February and they are not being renewed.

We have no trips planned at all right now. For no real specific reason but for a combination of reasons including FP+, price escalations, and being Disney-ed Out. Friends of ours express the same concerns but mostly about the prices.

Will we go back? probably but I turn 70 on my next birthday and it may be time to see other things.

I think you need to go back one more time and stay at CS. ;)

I wouldn't say happy, but I am a bit relieved. I am a teacher and can only travel during busy times.
We originally had booked for President's Week due to a free dining pin. DH asked me if I would consider a Christmas trip instead to see the decorations etc... as we have never been at that time. Even though it is more expensive and I know it will be ridiculously crowded, I was getting a bit stressed with all the changes Disney has made recently and readily agreed.
DH is NOT a Disney person; the kids and I try to get down there as often as possible, but he hasn't been since 2008. When he does come, I work really hard to ensure that he has a good time. I was having so much trouble booking things for Feb. (ADR's, FP+ etc...) due to glitches on Disney's end, that I was ready to throw the computer out the window. So much more work than it used to be!
I am hoping to go to WDW for a few days in June with the kids while we visit relative in FL. This should give us a chance to see what we think of everything before planning our big family trip.

I am relieved that we aren't going until this coming December. Last fall we considered a trip in December 2013 but all the FP+ and other park issues easily swayed me to postpone a year. Fantasyland will have settled down a little plus Universal's expansion of HPWOW will be complete by December 2014.

Only regret I have is there are rumors that the Osborne Lights may not be up in 2014.....:confused3 but I doubt that this will happen.

And I'm glad I didn't tell DH about all the day-to-day craziness with FP+; he's not thrilled with WDW to begin with. Can't wait to tell him about the credit-card TS reservation policy :rotfl: That would definitely push him over the edge right now. I'll save that gem for around our 180 day time.

I'm happy I do have a trip planned. We went the week before Christmas and had no problem with Fast Pass Plus and actually liked it a lot. I thought I would hate it but it actually worked pretty well. Going back for a week in March for spring break and I need to buy our tickets so I can schedule my Fast Pass plus!

I am really happy we have a trip planned for February and can't wait to go. If FP+ doesn't work well we will still be at Disney and we will still be on holiday and we will still have a fab Time. I am past the point where how many times I ride space mountain makes or breaks my trip. There is a lot more to the world and the local area than roller coasters.

I have booked heaps of ADR and we will sit down each day and say well we have booked this for tomorrow do we still fancy it? If yes we will plan our day around it if no we will cancel and be spontaneous.

If you have a matter that you feels requires moderator input please send us a PM. Do not post on the boards.
There are no rules being broken if posters have other identifies; unless it is to deceive, and frankly the Poirot brigade are becoming boring.

Please get back to discussing Theme Park strategies rather than each other ;)

Not at all, actually. We were there in november and were able to use FP+ and found it very easy, although it did require a bit more planning ahead. But I am very excited to run the princess half marathon next month, and also to stay at the Yacht Club for the first time! We have never stayed at an Epcot resort before. Also, i would never pass up an opportunity to escape winter in NY for a few days!!
