...hey..AAA has a WDW BOOK?aaaakkkkk!!!!where can I get one?I have one for Florida..I did not know there was one for WDW too....can I order it from AAA?
I suppose you can. I went and signed up for AAA about 3 weeks ago (I think) and the agent just gave me a bag with tons of stuff in it. One of the things was a Disney book. It isnt an actaul AAA Disney book. It is the one by: Jason Rich
"The Everything Travel Guide to the Walt Disney World Resort, Universal Studios, and Greater Orlando"

It's not as good as Birnbaum's or Bob Sehlinger's books.

Actually, looking at my reciept, I think I paid for it. But it was only (if that is it on the AAA reciept) $5

Yes, yes, yes, I too was very obsessed with my 10 day trip.

I even had to know how far is the walk from Main Street to the Castle. Duhhh to Me!!!!

I studied, studied, and planned every day for our family. It was fun though.

The weeks before your WDW trip is just as fun

I don't believe it is an obsession - it is a way of life... not only have I made that nice little notebook for myself with all the information about our PS, air, hotel, rest. menus, calendar of hours, etc... but I have made and had bound booklets for everyone traveling with us... they think that I have a problem - I call them all (there are 10 of us traveling) and let them know daily what our countdown is... I have had Princess calls made to the girls just to let them know we are getting closer.... I don't think this is an obsesseion....I live and breathe this stuff.....lol

Yes I'm definately obsessed! I have about a billion guidebooks, I subscribe to TGM, I made spreadsheets to add up how much everything costs, I spend all day on the DIS and other boards, and talk non-stop about Disneyland and WDW. :wizard:

I WAS very obsessed with planning, and it became so bad that my wife insisted I take a trip to the doctor and now I'm on Strattera. Go figure.

I just love planning, reading the books, anticipating our days and writting out schedules.... of course, it all depends on weather, energy levels etc because I am the only real planner in the family when it comes to vacations - except dear son, 8, who just loves the guide books as much as I do! Can't wait to go. As I lie in bed at night I plan, as I drive I plan. I plan, I plan, I plan!!!! :grouphug:

Here is a question for all you other obsessive planners. Is it just Disney or all your trips? I am this way with every trip and now I am a travel agent! It is definately the perfect career for someone like me! :cheer2:

Since this is my first onsite trip and first trip to WDW in 4 years, I keep wondering over and over if I have picked right resort (CBR) for me.

:bounce: Oh my gosh....I was just thinking of this very idea! I guess it's good to know that others feel the same way about there trips too! I have not collected much yet, but to have the Unoficial Guide and the WDW trip cd, this year and last... You have to start somewhere! I hope my dh won't
dis(ney)own me! hahaha...... I'm not even sure when we are going! It's the antisipation of going, you know you are going to have a great time and planning for me just spreads the fun out!
:wave2:

Count me in....I am definately obsessive about my planning this trip. I was never like this in the past though. The last time our family went on a vacation together was before my DH went overseas to Afghanistan for a tour of duty. He has been home for a while now (almost a year and half) but we havent been able to do much of anything so I think that is why I am so excited this time around and have been planning like crazy. I think i need to get a life though...today I picked up some canisters of mini m&ms so my kids could have the canisters for their money for penny pressing. I was all excited! How sad is that!! It doesnt take much for me these days. I have to admit though I am really having fun planning this vacation. I guess that is all that matters. I am just glad that I am not alone!

yeah I get alittle carried away with all my other trips....BUT WAY OUTTA CONTROL with anything DISNEY RELATED!!!!!!! :earsboy: :earsgirl:

yes, me too. I am on the computer every day checking out posts to get ideas on what we can see or do. I am going crazy waiting to see what events will be going on since we are going to be there Easter. I have a folder with print outs, hand written notes, our daily schedule, and everything else everyone else has mentioned. Planning is the only thing keeping me sane. Our trip is contantly on my mind. I try so hard not to drive everyone around me crazy by constantly talking about it. March 25th CAN NOT get here fast enough. I hope they post Easter events soon before I lose all my hair.

I was so obsessive about our October trip ( 1st one after I found this board!) that I had the aforementioned binder with everything in it. It had the copies of our tickets, copies of the Halloween party tickets, menus of the restaurants, a printout from my Palm software with all of our confirmation numbers, ALL of the letters I had from WDW reflecting every change in the ressie, all of our PS #'s, you name it. I knew that the April trip was coming and had already booked the WL for it (check out my counter to see where the ressie is for now ;)) . I knew that it was too early to start with the PS' (this was in December). Well, two days after Christmas the family hit me with our "quick trip" for the first weekend of February. That's when I connected with Dreams Unlimited. Numerous itinerary and resort changes later, we start out for the YC. As we hit the FL. turnpike I start rummaging through the Pooh folder because, silly me, I had not made a PS for the arrival night. Well, duh, DH was set on our keeping the kids in school till noon that day, figured we'd eat before we arrived. I actually had one for our arrival date but we bumped our arrival up one day. Anyway, as I'm on the phone with WDWDINE (in my cell phone speed dial :)) I rummage around and realize that when I cleaned out my wallet to make it easier to carry (lighter) I had lightened the load so much that I had left the letter for DDE AT HOME! I got it taken care of by calling WDWDINE but can you imagine the ragging I took from DH and the kids??? Rosa at DDE has already emailed me an updated letter in case our cards don't arrive before this trip. How many copies do you think I'll pack THIS TIME?

Compulsive? Moi? Does spending 4 hours a day searching WDW sites and DISing count? Does owning every WDW guide book, 2 spread sheets, an expanding file and a multi page pocket folder filled with info count? Ok, where do I sign up for the 12 step program? Nah....I like my compulsion and I'm not ready to give it up! :cool1:

I'm so glad to know I'm not alone! My husband thinks I'm crazy for spending so much time on the boards planning our trip. Hi my name is ------- and I'm an overplanner!!! :teeth:

Im not alone! My family thinks Im nuts! I know more about disney after one vaction, then my partners family (who has been there 6+ times!). I guess part of the fun, excitement is just doing all of the planning. I print all my data/spreadsheets/calanders.. etc and keep them in a 3 ring binder in "sheet protector covers". That way I can share and review w/others, not wareing or dirtying the pages. Im glad to know Im not the only one though. :grouphug:

Hi, :wave2: my name is Lesley and I've been a Disney planaholic for a year now. It all started with the June 2004 trip. I started some light planning in January of 2004 and before I knew it I was spending more and more time on the computer looking at Disney info. I found the DIS boards and I was hooked from there... Then I started buying every trip planning book.
Our trip was perfect! We saw every parade and fireworks show and rode every operating ride that we wanted to. Made it all worth it.
Oh yes, my family has tried to intervene without success.
For our upcoming trip I have to sneak my computer time late at night after the kids have gone to bed. I do this because the trip is a surprise. :goodvibes I know that I will stop once our trip is over. NOT!
I just love  planning, planning and replanning!!! I'm so happy that we are all in the same boat. :teeth:

I am never plan a trip as much as I have this one. I guess going to WDW make a person plan a vacation differently then they normally would.

Count me in on the obsessive planning!!!!!!!
We had decided that this year we'd just "go with the flow" but after finding the DIS site I now have a notebook filled with "things to do or see"... ha ha
