Who else has never used a lawn mower?

It's becoming a problem for me now, though. I just moved out of my parent's house and have my own yard now... except I can't mow!

That's very considerate of him not to mow while you're at home

I am another one with allergies...freshly cut grass gives me asthma attacks, so I'm 39 years old and have never used a lawn mower. I have only actually seen DH do it a few times too because he usually waits till a time I am not home so it won't bother me.

My Dfi hasn't. She drove my riding mower (not cutting!) once about 10 feet before I made her get off.

I am 32 and I just used a lawn mower for the first time last week.

How did it go? And what made you finally decide to try it?

LOL, I do a fine job of the nagging myself !

I researched the lawn mower. I bought the lawn mower. I picked out a snazzy electric one as we have a tiny yard. I think I have used it twice in the past 5 years.

However, do a fine job of nagging my husband to mow!

Glad to see there are a lot of us "non-mowers" out there! I was starting to wonder if I was the only one who had never used one!

I am 33 and have never used one. When we were first married, and bought our first house, DH did all the mowing. For the past 5 or 6 years, we have had a gardener!

I've only done it once--to prove to my ex-husband that I break out in hives and lose the ability to breathe properly when mowing a lawn or around someone who is mowing a lawn. We'd just married and he thought I was being a slacker. That trip to the ER made him change his mind.

I'm always mystified when people tell me they love the smell of freshly cut grass. Frankly, that smell just makes me gag.

I do work on the flower beds, weeding, planting, etc. In the summer, I dose myself up on Benadryl, covered from head to toe no matter the heat, and I can last about up to an hour before the hives start up. I like to have nice flower beds and the allergies aren't so bad in the spring and fall.
