Who Else Besides Me Misses the Old Paper Fast Passes?

I liked the paper too. I feel like we spend too much time on the phone with FP+.

But what would be really cool would be FP+ for 3 rides only for onsite only and regular FP for everyone in the park. I really think there should be more of a benefit to stating on site.

Not even a little! I don't like FP in any manner of existence, but, compared to the old paper FP, this is like heaven.

I completely agree... it was much more fun for us not being tied to specific times a month out. I also enjoyed having more than 3 per day, and all of them E-tickets if I wish.. riding everything we wanted was so much easier and added a lot to the value of a Disney day. :sad1:
Kinda how I feel in a nutshell

And all your FP+ could be E-tickets!

What I miss is the testing phase of FP+. We stayed at the Board Walk at that time and we were allowed to make FP+ choices in advance but once there we could also get the paper FP as well. 'Double Dipping' it was called and it was great while it lasted.

I miss the old fastpass system too. I liked being able to decide which park to go to and when to come and go on the day of. Planning so far in advance takes a little of the fun out of it. Also, we were really good at working that system and could ride so many rides. Fastpass + kind of levels the playing field so expertise doesn't give you much advantage. Plus I liked being able to give tickets away if we weren't going to use them.

I miss the old ones. I feel that we rode more and planned less.

I agree especially after spending hours recently planning our upcoming trip and then scurrying to get online at 5 AM here to choose our FP+ and knowing we will still be riding fewer rides than our trips pre-2014.

I also miss as other posters do, being able to give away unused passes. As it is now, those are wasted with no chance of an act of kindness!

My DH doesn't always use his FPs and we don't know ahead of time if he will ride or not. Sometimes I use his FP and go a second time. I'm sure it's only a matter of time until Disney removes that possibility too!

We were given some paper FastPasses on our last trip! We were eating at the Diamond Horseshoe and the restaurant manager CM gave them to us!

Of course we were only able to use a few of them and had four left; we wanted to find someone to give them to, but it was right at park close and the CM selling us our souvenirs smiled and said, "They rarely give those out anymore, you should put them in your scrapbook". So they wait in a box with all our maps and other scrapbook things...

I definitely miss those! I used to love giving those to people when our plans changed and we could no longer use them. Just spreading around a little disney magic :tink:

I miss the old paper FPs. What I especially miss about them is the ability to get a FP for the same attraction over and over. For example, in DHS, the only attraction I really care about is TSMM. One day I was able to ride it about 8 times between paper Fps and stand-by (when it was less than 30 minutes in the morning). And at AK, I spent the entire day riding KS, alternating between stand-by and FP. However, the ability to get to DHS in the afternoon with a FP+ already in hand (or wrist) for TSMM,meaning I don't have to get up early and fight rope drop, makes FP+ preferable.

I am very thankful that when I had school trips to Disney it was with the paper fast passes because we weren't given our tickets until the day we went. I don't know how they would do it now.

I miss them so much, and the freedom from scheduling every moment of my vacation months out and not being able to change on the fly, so much that are no longer going 4-5 times per year. Our last trip was in July 2015 and had we not had a mixup in November 2016 and had to plan a quick vacation in 6 days, we would have still not gone back. Our trip in November cemented our decision not to go back for a good long while.

We had annual passes every year. We did at least one 9 day trip and often a second, with several long weekends in-between. They've lost that business. But I don't think it's only us - I was reading an article about a month ago and it appears theme park attendance was down last yer. Didn't surprise me in the least. After reading some of the responses here, we're not the only people who feel this way. We used to go there just to relax. We would go to a park, get on a few favorite rides, and leave to do something else. Now, if you don't plan a month in advance, you're not going to get those fast passes. And if you have to change your plans for a day, your fastpasses are worthless because you can't replace them at a different time, even on the same day. For example, in November we were never able to get mine train, nor the new Frozen attraction (that wasn't a big surprise), nor could we get a reservation at almost any restaurant we wanted, including the signatures. No big deal, as we don't go to Disney for the food, but it would have been nice to get in a nice meal at one of our favorites. I ended up using my Levy Brother's loyalty card to walk in and be seated immediately at Portobello.

I'm hoping they realize the biggest complaint is about having to schedule so far in advance and not being able to change. If they fix that, we will go back more often, but until then, well, Disney, it's been real :(
